Could it be that mentally Liverpool couldn’t play after what the league did to them when they played Man City. When you know that everyone saw Jeremy Doku spike McCallister in the box at the end of the match, referee and VAR as well and no call was made. You may realize you are not the chosen team to win the premiership at that , no matter what you do. And it’s not the first time this kind of thing has happened to them. There is a problem by defining world class as a player that gets into any team. If that is the bar you can reduce the argument to who gets into the best team in the world.
