This is the RED LINE in the Boston subway system: I am glad to have had the privilege of visiting Boston just to ride subway trains elsewhere beside my own; my contribution goes back to 1990 (2X), 1993, 1998, and 2005, and each time I went, there would be an adventure behind it; the current car rosters running are mixed bag 1500/1600s and 1800s-at least from what I saw, although I did see the long retired 1400s, and visited Columbia Road/JFK-UMASS station (😍)....I have been reading and studying the MBTA's network since hearing about the Orange Line's relocation project (unaware of the fuller story behind it until years later 'histerically speaking'), the Green Line's formerly then-running Boeing Vertol LRV Type #6 rail cars (the same ones used in San Francisco's MUNI network, and Buffalo's singular route only slightly bigger in design), and after purchasing the book 'A change at Park Street Under' I was fully exposed about the former elevated trains to my delight, and the Blue Line altogether; as far as controversy goes, I think they should extend the Red Line to Bedford and [as a blogger once put it] make landfall @ the Burlington Mall bypassing NIMBY-based towns, extend the Orange Line to Route 128 because it's growing down there, and let the Blue Line extend its tentacle to Lynn and possibly beyond and stop letting $$$/¢¢¢ be the issues, Europe and other foreign lands have their train planning troubles too, BUT their trains are up and running and/or will be running within a year or two, but here in America-unless you know where to look carefully at action speaking louder than words-we are 'Indian Givers' (putting out, taking back) with politricks and meetings in tow per excuses: all things are possible if we stop looking at the impossibles (outward appearances), for now happy rails. 🚞🚇🚋🚈🚎
0:30 The Red Line trains with this livery look like they were originally intended for the Toronto Transit Commission, it looks like a Toronto CLRV streetcar paint scheme.
+Charlie F hey Charlie, I only visited Boston once for filming, next time i definitely want to record the other train lines, but i will try to record more red line video for you
+Bus TV Chan That would be great ! also that's a great idea to film some other other trains lines as well those will be great to watch as well ! Have a great rest of your evening ! -CharlieF
Those are cool trains the red line that has a couple different models of looks like I saw two different kind of trains I think maybe they only have two one of them is a little bit White and the other one is more gray and one of them the white one looks older maybe I'll look up the models later and learn more about this Train's they have
The white ones are older. I like them but they do breakdown often. I was on one last week, had to be taken out of service. Some of them still have the black leather hand straps.
My wife works here thank you for respecting the driver and blocking them out.
1:24 i love the sound of those gto vvvf pulse change
Hello! and welcome to MY neck of the woods! I grew up riding these trains!

Clearly you've never spent any time in the deep south.@@robertjordan3155
Same, but only the red & white "silverbirds"
This is just a retired mta r110b because the same maker (bombardier) on the red line 01800s and the same ac traction motor as the mta r110b
i do not believe so but i am not entirely sure
I was actually thinking that

They sound awesome
Elijah Morrison Especially the 1800 series Trains. They make very cool noises when they Enter and Leave.
yeah they sound great after 30 years of disrepair
@@robertjordan3155 the 1800s haven't been around for 30 years
Rick Traveler Smith the 1800s were built in 1993-1994... so 27 years. Almost 30.
Wow very nice trains

ahh many a time I used to take the Red Line from Braintree to Park Street back in the day when I used to work in Boston
i think they have good equipment and nice facilities from what i saw
StSeiyaFan I take that Route now. But it’s from South station to Braintree.
I like these trains

Let’s go they gave u a horn show
I know .. hats off to that operator..
✌️✌️✌️✌️ thanks for checking out my video and thanks for the comment
enjoy and save this video, 01500s and 01600 due to be all scrapped by 2022. First batched were put into service in 1969-70
The first batch originally were brushed aluminum with a red stripe on the side
Not surprising, they are still in service and will be for the foreseeable future.
Roland at 7:42 getting of at Harvard pushing the cart after waking up at alewife
5:51 horn show :) think me later
Why don't their trains use their headlights at all?
Im not sure about that, but maybe someone else might.
They do, they turn them off when entering a station.
Kevin Howard I know right I hate that, they should always use the headlights even when They enter the station like New York
They do it to avoid blinding passengers, which is stupid since they shouldn't be that close to the edge of the platform anyway, but whatever.
TRAINS R MY. FAVORITE VEHICAL
Are these still in service?
