If you want really see The Big Push with there true style, listen to there original tracks.
The Big Push - Sweet Little Lady (live acoustic)
The Big Push - Watch Out (live)
The Big Push - Xbox Marijuana
The Big Push - Why My Woman?
The Big Push - Icarus
The Big Push - Dignity
The Big Push - What Kind Of Woman Is This live
The Big Push - It's Alright (Live)
The covers they do are also fantastic if you'd like to mix it up as well. Here are my favorite covers by The Big Push. Hope to see you enjoying these soon.
The Big Push Live singing "Englishman In New York" better than the original Sting version
The Big Push - Bongo Bong (Manu Chao cover)
The Big Push - War Pigs (Black Sabbath) mashed up w/Paranoid + Rage against the Machine)
The Big Push - Paint It Black (The Rolling Stones cover)
I concur
I concur
Also one of my favorites
"All my Heroes"
You left out their very best track, "Swan Song"
It was my comment but I'm going to concur as well. What the hell 🤭🤣
Great reaction. You are the first to pick up on Gorran’s bass - and the annoying girl.
IDK if it's that he's the first to pick up on it but he is certainly the first to comment that I'm aware of 😎
I concur.
I concur. Gorran's bass playing is great. It's especially apparent on the Bongo Bong cover.
If I could just take a moment and thank you for this comment on both topics. I CONCUR readily. And greatly. Holy shit that female .god dammit, annoying as hell. ❤much love tho to all yall tho no doubt , and thank you for the excellent reaction as well as this fantastic comment
Fun fact, the drummer (Glen Chambers) was a bass player in a rival band, at the time Ren was the drummer for the big push (he says he wasn't a very good drummer, not sure I beleve him) they persuaded Glen to play for the big push instead, obviously everyone in the big push plays bass, but Glen is the best drummer.
The great producer is Ren. Ren was obviously wonder wonderful. Romaine was the guitarist who did the solo. I appreciate you noticing the bassist and drummer. If you notice Ren was direct the band by slowing down the tempo and the drummer was lazer focused on Ren at that point.
Band membern
Ren - Lead, Lead singer and guitarist
Romaine Axisa - guitarist and singer
Gorran Kendall - Bassist,guitarist , and singer
Glenn Chambers - Drummer
Bongo Bong next please.

An Englishman in New York
Great reaction. Spot on observation regarding Gorran (the bass player). He is a top tier performer including his vocals, guitar and bass playing. He traveled throughout Europe making a living busking when he was younger. The whole band is awesome. Ren recently said Glen (the drummer) is living the good life in Thailand and is a computer coder (or something like that). Maybe one day they will all reunite. Check out their Stone's psychedelic yet Clash influenced version of Paint it Black with Ren on Bass. It's rarely reacted to but it's an energy filled banger!
That guitar player kills on a ukulele on their Bongo Bong cover. Such a great vibe! He was Ren's roomie before he went to Canada.
I concur
I third that, love love this cover. .. super chilled... I think Gorhen is still sipping his glass of wine a second before bass kicks in... tickles me every time 😂😂😂😂
I concur.
I concur
I concur. Romain Axisa is amazing, and his solo work is under-recognized.
All you say is valid...the problem in the U.S. ( not just Nashville) is SOME ONE will want to capitalize on those who wish to share their talents. And "buskers" in our country are stigmatized as "starving artists" or "beggars that can't make it in the industry" it's a damned shame.
Romain Axias - he sings too and has some music out on his RUclips channel!
I’d say take a listen to Bongo Bong covered also by The Big Push. There you’ll have ‘em all singing. And yes, they do sing well 😉
I concur.
Yesss! I concur!
Conquer! Um I mean concur.
Concur.
I concur!
Guitar player is Romain Axisa, a frenchman who moved to Brighton in 2016 where he met (and lived with till recently) Ren, busked together and then formed The Big Push with Gorran Kendal (the bass player). He has great solo stuff and also has a track with Ren called: Ren Ft. Romain Axisa - French Song
And correct me if Iam wrong but I am guessing he played the guitar in Ren's "Money Games Pt 1".
@@coreydean6540 Absolutely correct, Romain is Sackman
Wade in the Water/ Nina Simone mash up is another Big Push I think you might like -
A bit more bluesy, Ren on bass, Gorran (usually bass) sings a song, he has a great 70's rock voice,
Romain is the guitarist who does the solo's
Glen on drums
My Fave Big Push Mashup
I concur!
I concur

They do a great War Pigs that may surprise you.
he's already done that one
Yup, that chick walked NOT just in front of the camera, but kind of walked across the 'stage' cutting between the band members during a performance. She probably knows one of them (quite possibly sleeping with one of them) and she did that walk through a couple times as a form of clout chasing... she was showing off to her friends that she's "with" the band.
Think I've seen elsewhere that that girl is/was a friend/girlfriend of one of the band and I think is helping with selling the band's CDs.
Great reaction. Romain's 75 Beats per Minute is beautiful. ( he has many great tracks )
I concur.
I concur
I Concur
Great reaction. I think you're the first to get as annoyed by that girl as I do every time i see this excellent video
There's always that one!
Cheers,
Eric
Lol. I thought that I was the only one. Pisses me off every time. 😅
Romain Axisa, the other guitarist, has some really nice independent tracks out recently.
I think you'd really enjoy The Big Push video titled Wade In The Water/Nina Simone/Trouble So Hard. Ren and Gorran Kendall (the guy you just saw playing bass) both have great voices for gospel music.
Concur
This will always be my favourite TBP performance. It has such good energy. I love all the rest too though!
Have you seen the Push doing Englishman in New York? Another one that has something a little extra and treads the live between original and originality well.
Lots of people haven't known the track, but I know you'll be much more familiar with it!
I concur, also Bongo Bong
Did u do the Big push manu Chao-Bongo bong cover ? Was pretty cool .....love ur reaction s so well put together ❤️
MATE we have Busking in every Town in Britain, and especially in Cities. You hear good music all over the UK and Ireland.
Great reaction! I’m a 63 yo lady who found REN about 4 months ago. I honestly haven’t seen talent like these guys in decades. It’s so refreshing to see real musicians who have talent and originality. Just subbed, looking forward to more REN and the Big Push.
Another great reaction. In Wade in the Water, Ren is playing bass and Goran rhythm where he gets to sing solo towards the end; he was very, very good. It was fun to watch Gorran help Ren fix his guitar strap while he was singing Wade in the Water. Another wonderful busking track and at a different location. Everything this band does is fantastic. Not a single miss for me yet from Ren or The Big Push.
Here in Albuquerque our "busking district" is a ten-foot by ten-foot patch of dirt among the rattlesnakes and tumbleweeds on the city outskirts. Musicians playing there have to be adept at playing their instruments while fighting off coyotes, which can be very entertaining. 🤠 Great reaction, btw! I've seen this video countless times and am always amazed by the band's talent and love for all kinds of music. One of the best rabbit holes I've ever fallen into.
First time ever hearing this band. I liked the cover. I mean no one beats Bob Marley, but i was wibing this
Romain's live original composition called "Love Without Feelings(Live)" is a beautiful song where he plays piano and is accompanied by violin, cello and ladies church choir.
You say I could be wrong, and I usually am, but I think you're fibbing. I think you're right a great deal, and you're clearly well versed in the music business from top to bottom. I've subscribed to your channel because you are someone well worth anyone's attention.
So i did some digging because i new the "with a little bit of luck, we could make it through the night " weren't lyrics i knew from any of the 3 songs in the title. I found this.

So its hard to tell exactly which song they got it from, but both are actually pretty good. Anyways I figured id post them just in case anyone was curious
Love Big Push & OMG Romain Axisa on guitar is 🔥🔥🔥
I have a Rastafarian friend and she said this is the best cover of a reggae song she has ever heard. I was a little nervous to show her due to singers that sing songs like this that aren't native speakers as it can be little 'offensive' but she abs loved this version.
I love your reactions. you tell it like it is. I am so glad you called out the chick who was deliberately trying to get on camera - she drives me mad and no one else has mentioned her. hey ho, no big deal at the end of the day. Gorran the bassist started off playing punk, real basic lines, but has developed a real reggae/funk feel. Romain Axisa is the guitarist - incredible talent and a real feel for tone. Please check out his solo stuff - 75 beats Per Minute, Blue, Guitar Jam - Rainwater, Goodbye Good Days
I concur. Romain's got an interesting New Wave flair on some of his stuff.
Since its 2023 and its all about me 😁 i want them to stay independent and true to themselves.
Gotta love your smile when that backbeat drops into SKA. 😻
Hi Eric, there's still a little piece of a 4th song in there.
7:35 it’s the song“ A little bit of luck“ by DJ Luck and MC Neat.
Greetings from Germany
There’s a video the main title is these boots are made for walking and it’s filmed in a laundromat and they’re actually singing three songs at the same time that would be a great reaction. I think you would enjoy it.
I concur
I concur, the ending is surprising and disturbing, but in a good way
One of the best mashup/covers on RUclips 🙌🏼
Yes, you are right about the chick. And you're right about the bassist, he adds a little bounce. Loved your reaction. Bongo Bong is another beauty. It has a dog walking in front of the camera but it was included intentionally.
English man from New York has the cute dog.
@@kellyt5341 Thank you. Yes, Bongo Bong was on the rooftop.
@@kellyt5341 thought the dog was going to push it's nose into the strings for a moment, lovely doggo
@@seth1455 Maybe that was why Ren lifted up the guitar to lean back a bit so the dog didn't get his snout strummed on.
REN and Romain are extremely creative, talented and give great videos!!
Englishman in New York, Praise You, and Bongo Bong are must Do's!!!
Yes you are the first person to react to the girl walking passed the camera! I thought it was just me getting annoyed with her! Love your reactions of Ren and the big push 👏👏👏👏🔥
Busking goes on all over UK it's endemic in our culture
Great reaction man, must have watched this vid about 300 times and still puts a smile on my face... love it...
You need to checkout the other two videos from this very session both brilliant... as is anything else they have done, together or individually... a super talented bunch of lads individually and together 👍🤗🇬🇧
Holy radio voice my guy! you were born for radio!
The Stewart Copeland comparison is pretty spot on.
Really loved your reaction! Thanks
Well said. Great reaction and analysis.Subscribing.
Thank you for your great reaction!
New to your channel, loved reaction.
Spot on... the bassist is very good! He sings too... also see War Pigs, Bongo Bong and Englishman in New York!!!
Love how you break it down. Respect.
Thanks for the info about busking. I wondered about Brighton. Glad to hear about Nashville. Let’s hope they expand their busking.
Great reaction and i concur
It’s hard for me to watch reactions of this great music when the channel stops the videos a billion times. I appreciate that you don’t do that! New sub☮️
I just love this performance by The Big Push. I don´t know exactly what it is about it, but for some reason it makes literally everyone smile, including me. I don´t watch a lot of reaction videos tbh, but I just can´t stop watching reactions to this video. I must have watched 20-30 reactions to it in 2-3 day, and I´m for sure watching more. In every single one the person reacting just can´t stop themselves from cracking a BIG genuine smile, and from the second they start to the end of the performance it stays. Maybe I just don´t watch enough reaction videos, but I have never seen anything quite like it. It´s basically impossible to watch and listen to the performance without smiling, it´s just so freaking good.
Great reaction and analysis by you too Eric! You just earned yourself a new subscriber. Keep up the good work!
100% agree
Really enjoyed your discussion of the different players here. Reactions don’t tend to do this. So extra thanks for that. ❤
Edited to say I’d have appreciated going through your reactions in the order you did them so as to follow your greater understanding of the musicians/music. I tried but went wrong almost immediately. Maybe consider a playlist in date order?
Subbed for more Ren (I’ll have to search for them, I guess).
yes
You have a great radio voice!
!I know several people who do voice overs.
just fan of U and those guys
I think you might also dig The Big Push doing a Clash cover, The Guns of Brixton.
Also, What Kind of Woman is This (Live) Big Push has Gorran, Ren, and Romaine all singing.
The guitar player is Romain Axisa, he does his own stuff on RUclips like Ren. He was Ren's long time roommate in Brighton.
Check out 'Sweet Little Lady" by The Big Push...video version first and then live one-take version. Its an original with all the energy of rock legends past....
I like that blues touch they gave to it on the start ,but what realy got me is - Englishman In New York... tough song to play and sing and they play three guitars in harmony with three voices in harmony with these guitars..... everiting sits perfect, like ass on a potty
I always enjoy your Smart insightful reactions. 🎶
It's quite frustrating that alot of people in America don't get to enjoy busking. In the UK it's a great way for people who wouldn't get noticed in another way, especially people who are just starting it's a great way to get noticed. There isn't really any order to it we just have areas in the cities where you find street performers who set up and sing as a way to get noticed. Most successful artists in the UK have done busking at one point or other, it's a great network of people.
Excellent breakdown of this gem Eric. Ren and the Big Push are extremely talented. Keep up the great job.
Great reaction!
Yeeesss Bob Marley and Scarface on every woke persons wall 😂❣️
Fire Reaction Sir🔥🔥🔥
The drummer is a converted bass player. Romaine the guitarist is French and did not pick up an electric guitar until he was around 20. Previous to that he had always played a classical acoustic.
I concur
It's rarely just in one area. All British towns and cities have busking spots but there's usually a lot of them, all over, rather than just one area. There's plenty of busking outside these spots too but the ploice rarely bother to move them on, unless they're causing a real nuisnce. It's not just at night. It takes place at all-times. :)
Such a bunch of awesome musicians!
How lucky are those being there and seeing them live on street!
Just clicked! I’ve been waiting a minute for this one! Let’s Go!
Please do " Penitence " by Ren it is so very beautiful. Loved your rezction to this one!
Yep.. "Englishman in New York - live" is a must watch from The Big Push. Even the dog is impressed and tries to settle in for the night..
Check out their last concert before Ren had to leave for Canada for medical treatments....."The Big Push" live at The Brighton Dome, Sept 9 2022 !
great upload man, thanks.
The female that was going past the camera looks to me as a friend of the band that was in charge of the sales of the album
Fantastic review brother, very interesting thoughts 👍
Try The big push covering Bongo Bong. The bass is unbelievable in that and btw his name is Goran. Guitarist is Romain, and of course Ren
I love how you was losing your shit over that girl kept walking in front of the camera lol. Great reaction
Great detailed analysis love it Eric. Maybe you could listen to Ren and Chinchilla singing Chalk Outlines it’s raw and emotional. I would like to get your take on it
Listen to their own song All My Heroes, studio version is best 😁
That dj voice of yours is like smooth smoky leather dipped in bourbon... 😅 My beard got thicker just listening to it 😂
Good reaction.. new sub🎉
🔥🤟🏼.
The other guitar player is Romain and he is awesome. Ren of course is incredible also.
I think if someone came along with £ in their eyes they would just tell them to do one. They do their own thing and realize they do not need anyone taking a cut!
As I heard, that is a myth. Ren said himself in an interview that sometimes he gets surprised by the rumours he is reading about himself on the internet. He said that he wasn´t up to fullfill the contract and he and Sony parted ways very friendly.
This is my fave of their performances followed by
Wade in the water/ Nina Simone/ trouble so hard
Swan song
Englishman in New York
Wait!?!? We need that here in knoxville!! Maybe I should move. That's something I miss moving from Seattle is the music scene... Don't miss the politics but there doesn't seem to be that in the Knoxville Chattanooga area. Or maybe I just haven't found it yet
Seamlessss
Love the Caribbean vibes, yet different than the original Reggae.
I really really really hope the band reforms when he is back in the UK for good. It's all fine and cool if they want to release individually too, but they are so tight together.
Busking is pretty much like this across the UK. Here in Glasgow you'll see people all sorts of places, mostly in the city centre throughout the shopping and nightclub districts, but there's other areas around town with clusters of shops and restaurants, and buskers will be there. Or in the parks.
Oh, and that person, and it usually is a chick, that does that. I hate using the term 'chick' but if you are the sort to do that, then ''chick'' is what you are.
Romaine Axisa, the bass player in this video (the three guitarists swap duties around for different songs) is pretty amazing also. He's been releasing tunes pretty regularly this year just as Ren has been. He is French, and his accent is strong enough that you can hear it in his singing, but it's not a problem.
Goran, the other guitarist ain't bad on harmonic and he's cool, but doesn't release actively as the other two.
The drummer is a guitarist that knew how to play drums, so there he is, because they didn't know another drummer at the time they were setting up, and didn't need a 4th guitarist.
Great reaction! One thought I had about someone finding them and putting them in a studio with a producer: is that really necessary these days? Both Ren and The Big Push seem to be on the rise so would the value added by a 'third party' outweigh the potential loss of control? When someone is staking their money on someone else they will want that ROI, and with that could come a degree of meddling with the product. I wish them all the best, and obviously with greater funds comes greater opportunities. I just hope they find the right person, who see them for who they are and trust in their creativity. I hope that makes sense... I'm not principally against the music industry, but to use your metaphor: if you find a diamond in the rough and proceed to cut it like every other diamond, there's no telling them apart anymore.
Here's a thing a lot of folks either discount or never consider: We hear about horrible experiences with record labels/management, but fail to understand the infinitesimal percentage of contracts that face issues. 99.99% of signed artists never have any issue with their contracts. Some even use it to their advantage, ie. using the contacts and connections to establish future independence. I've worked with more people than not that would just sit back and let Ren do his thing, only getting involved to alleviate any undo chores an independent artist would have to handle themselves (font style of poster, lease agreements for transportation, studio rental fees, etc), the finer details. But if this guy could get into a top tier studio, with a good producer and engineer, the final product will be exceptional. And something else that folks overlook: The echo chamber. There needs to be someone in the room with an eye to the practical and pragmatic. Because the bigger he gets, the more demands fans will place on him. He needs a buffer to be free to be creative. I never worried about my contracts, insurance, etc. because my late wife was my attorney and manager and handled all that stuff so I could just go out and dance like the monkey I am for the public.
My want of him to get management has nothing to do with "The Machine", but more for his assistance as he grows, and if someone can make a few bucks, so be it. He just needs to shop the representation and find the one he can just sit and talk about life with, not about work. Plus if you let someone you're not emotionally attached to, you decrease the potential for personal drama. Never let a friend handle your money or your career. Advice? Sure, but there are too many stories to the contrary of benefit.
Sorry I droned on, but thanks for the comment!
Cheers,
Eric
Good points all, thank you!
@@TheWyldesidewithEricClark Thank you! No need to apologize for 'droning on'. That was the sort of insight I was hoping for. :) Sometimes you have a gut feeling about something, or a knee-jerk reaction, but you sort of kind of know it's not a balanced position. It's always good to get a different perspective when that happens.
They have done a couple of albums with there own stuff on.
Hahahaha first off awesome reaction bro. But once you shook your head and said, "there's always that one chick" then she walked by again a second later and your head shake didn't need any words. I play bass in a band and the music is wayyy different than this. It's thrash, hardcore and metal but no matter what the genre there's always "that one chick" haha. The drunk that grabs the mic all the time yelling incoherently like a banshee, the drunk that yells out what song they want us to play when the songs they're yelling aren't even songs our band plays, the drunk chick that won't STFU do we tell her boyfriend to shut her up or he's going to get smacked around for her stupidity lol. Ahhh life of a musician lol
Gorran is a great bass player. He was adding octaves here and there and on the Ska beat they played he was doing a walking bass line using octaves as he was moving up the fret board.
He's also a good guitar player and singer. They have another cover from this same Busking show playing The Rolling Stones "Paint It Black" and he plays guitar and sing while Ren goes nuts on bass.
The Big Push do have an album out. It's called "Can Do Will Do" and again from this same Busking session they have a video from the album called "Watch Out" and it's soooo good!
And you're 1000000% correct about the Bob Marley and Scarface poster on everyone's wall in college. I graduated high school in 1994 and they were everywhere. Process on that is all the people that had those posters on the walls with smoking weed and sniffing blow haha
What a group of Cats they are!! You must at least watch Bongo Bong and Englishman in New York from them!!!
I concur!!!❤
Just found your channel. Great reaction man. I'm laughing my ass off every time that annoying tramp gets in the way, and you nearly lose it! Hahahaha
You say someone needs to lock them down, well Ren was locked down by Sony and dropped. When Ren got sick and was basically bed ridden for 23 hours a day Sony decided they didn't want to deal with his illness and dropped him. Not sure how Ren feels about getting resigned by someone now.
Awesome mate,! With your musical knowledge please please do paint it black cover, ended the same set as this, 😜😜😎😎
I'll put that on the list. The Feelies do a great cover of that song.
Cheers,
Eric
It's because the record labels now own all of Nashville. Turning all these artists into things they're not, making them speak on things they don't really believe in and putting their artists in boxes while 10 other people write their music and choose everything about the video, style, etc. It's gross. I'm so glad Ren saw how evil and greedy the labels are and is doing it all Independently. Same goes for so many others- Chinchilla, Upchurch, ACal, Brodnax, Tom Macdonald, Dax, Snow Tha Product, Chris Webby and so many more. Pretty much all the music I listen to now is Metal or Hardcore music who's labels allow them creative freedom or Independent GOATS 🔥🔥🔥
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the Kasey Chambers cover of “Lose Yourself” (Eminem). It’s pretty amazing; he even approved it to stream on Spotify, so clearly he agrees. Hope you get around to it, one way or another.
If you want see some cool bass playing try Bongo bong by the Big push.....you won't be disappointed
Do chinchill little girl gone official music video AND ren and chinchilla how to be me. My fave duet maybe ever.
Yeah, With A Little Bit Of Luck We Can Make It Through The Night is from DJ Luck and MC Neat.
