You know I need your love You've got that hold over me Long as I've got your love You know that I'll never leave When I wanted you to share my life I had no doubt in my mind And it's been you woman Right down the line I know how much I lean on you Only you can see The changes that I've been through Have left a mark on me You've been as constant as a Northern Star The brightest light that shines It's been you woman right down the line I just wanna say this is my way Of tellin' you everything I could never say before Yeah this is my way of tellin' you That every day I'm lovin' you so much more 'Cause you believed in me through my darkest night Put somethin' better inside of me You brought me into the light Threw away all those crazy dreams I put them all behind And it was you woman Right down the line I just wanna say this is my way of tellin' you everything I could never say before Yeah this is my way of tellin' you Everything I could never say before Yeah this is my way of tellin' you That every day I'm lovin' you so much more If I should doubt myself, if I'm losing ground I won't turn to someone else They'd only let me down When I wanted you to share my life I had no doubt in my mind And it's been you woman Right down the line
Right down my spine , help me Bonnie , help me walk again , help me drum again , I believe in you u tube , type Thomas DuTill mariner , LISTEN , PLEASE
Bonnie Raitt does an excellent version of the great Gerry Rafferty classic, as she did in 1977 with Del Shannon's 'Runaway'. In addition I'd like to add that Gerry Rafferty in a manner of speaking became a victim of his success with 'Baker Street'. It was/is a great song, but not to the exclusion of 'Right Down the Line' or 'Home and Dry' whom a lot of (claimed) G.R. fans don't even know. Yeah.
This is an awsome treatment of this number, penned by another great artist. Song is meant to be shared and passed down, around and amongst..., a good song is a good song weather 20 years old or 20 minutes old, as long as it is treated respectfully. The term "cover", is too limiting in this case, "interpretation" being more more appropriate!...
Hater. Id like to see you sing this amazing at her age. Her voice is incredible, and there is nothing wrong with doing covers. She relevant on her own. So Don't be so damn rude.
In boxing if you want to fight the champ you better have knocked out some serious opponents to even be considered. Bonnie Rait was playing roots, blues, with legendary figures probably before you were born. Modern rock is crap of the highest order and much of it gets does get airplay for morons who buy it without question. New music reallly?
Only 1 of 2 things could be true. You either like this recording by BR or you need/want someone to chat with. It's that simple. So if the latter is true, then I have sucked you into useless dialogue - Bye
Man, don't get your shorts all up in a wad, it's just a song, that's making Rafferty's estate some money. You sound like a frustrated musician that works at Gutiar Center at best.
Looky heah, Bubba, I am quite sure that your own performances of yesteryear were quite different from your current ones, and I am also confident that you believe that there is still validity in whatever it is that you do. No, problem there, life just goes on. Bonnie Raitt, can play in my living room anytime and in anyway she chooses, she's earned it.
Check out the new video version of this song (on the new Bonnie Raitt channel) - It's fantastic, and her first music video in 14 years! PS. Let's get Bonnie's new album SLIPSTREAM to Number One on iTunes and Amazon - she deserves our support!
I guess you guys don't remember one of Bonnie's first and most successful hits was "Runaway" ...many years ago. Enjoy the music for what it was meant for. Sheesh
I, of all people, can appreciate just about any song put to an island beat. But I heard this on my way home and now I'm going to have to douse my car stereo in holy water. Dreadful.
She's better than anything on Top 40 radio...New music? It all sounds exactly the same. You must be a fan of Taylor Swift and Katy Perry (tthey sound exactly the same) Excuse me while I vomit
I agree. So many recording artists these day destroy originals with their crappy covers. I'm really hoping that for a encore, BR does not go after any of Leonard Cohen's older classics.
Well, you have a right to your opinion. I like the song, although I admit I am a bit new to her stuff. Elton John and Phil Collins are also some of my favorites. You sound like a grumpy old fart frankly. You have a good night though!
I love both versions. Somehow she just really nailed it and did it great justice while making it all her own.
I love her version of Gerry Rafferty's, both versions are great. Bonnie made it her own version & it sounds unique.
Great Job Bonnie!!! Love Youxx
I get chills from the solo to the outro, how lucky are we???
This version sounds fantastic!...Love it!
Can listen to her all day. Great cover!!
You know I need your love
You've got that hold over me
Long as I've got your love
You know that I'll never leave
When I wanted you to share my life
I had no doubt in my mind
And it's been you woman
Right down the line
I know how much I lean on you
Only you can see
The changes that I've been through
Have left a mark on me
You've been as constant as a Northern Star
The brightest light that shines
It's been you woman right down the line
I just wanna say this is my way
Of tellin' you everything
I could never say before
Yeah this is my way of tellin' you
That every day I'm lovin' you so much more
'Cause you believed in me through my darkest night
Put somethin' better inside of me
You brought me into the light
Threw away all those crazy dreams
I put them all behind
And it was you woman
Right down the line
I just wanna say this is my way of tellin' you everything
I could never say before
Yeah this is my way of tellin' you
Everything I could never say before
Yeah this is my way of tellin' you
That every day I'm lovin' you so much more
If I should doubt myself, if I'm losing ground
I won't turn to someone else
They'd only let me down
When I wanted you to share my life
I had no doubt in my mind
And it's been you woman
Right down the line
Right down my spine , help me Bonnie , help me walk again , help me drum again , I believe in you u tube , type Thomas DuTill mariner , LISTEN , PLEASE

Ur Singing this better than Gerry Rafferty.
This version is forced garbage.

I cannot get this song out of my head. I love it!
Saw her perform this song live at the Ellen show today and I have to say it was so amazing and she sounded so wonderful!!!
I love you, Bonnie! You are so great.
CAN SOMEBODY MAKE AN INSTRUMENTAL FOR THIS SONG PLEASE....... THANK YOU!!!BIG HELP IF U COULD
In my Raitt playlist. Thanks for the upload!
I know the original sounds better but what she did she threw some Louisiana soul to it.
OK but the perils of covering such a perfect masterpiece are many. Maybe if you've never heard the original.....

Bonnie Raitt -- Right Down the Line (audio only).mp4
I didn’t think it was possible to top Gerry Rafferty’s version…….I was wrong! and this is NOT an easy tune to do.
I guess you guys don't remember one of Bonnie's first and most successful hits was "Runaway" ...many years ago. Enjoy the music for what it was meant for. Sheesh
Yet U keep comming back?
I get it, you need attention.
Glad I could help

Just as good as the original.
Great Version!!!!
This version is ass… a complete disrespect to rafferty
I, of all people, can appreciate just about any song put to an island beat. But I heard this on my way home and now I'm going to have to douse my car stereo in holy water. Dreadful.
One of the hottest women on the planet. I suspect she leans toward the other team, so I'm saving myself for Betty White,
She's better than anything on Top 40 radio...New music? It all sounds exactly the same. You must be a fan of Taylor Swift and Katy Perry (tthey sound exactly the same) Excuse me while I vomit
I hate to say it, but this version just doesn't cut it. Rafferty's original is still the best.
I agree. So many recording artists these day destroy originals with their crappy covers. I'm really hoping that for a encore, BR does not go after any of Leonard Cohen's older classics.
this version is horrible
you are dead human
What's horrible is your
surgically reconstructed
areola
@@GeeWhizzzz witty insult. But the cover still sucks.
@@candicechrestman328 I'm actually quite alive at this moment. Either way the cover still sucks.
at least she doesn't say woman and changes it to oh baby unlike these other lesbian fur traders on RUclips but yeah it sounds terrible.
