I’m not going to lie, we were super busy this week and I forgot to record most of it.
BUT, I did manage to remember to record the most important part of this week which was the PT and OT team coming together and figuring out the main focal points of the causes of Loren’s phantom pain. I couldn’t edit it as short as I would have liked to just because I felt like a lot the progress was too important to edit out!

I will not complain.
When I do complain about something, I'll remember this. Then pray and work towards..... that it becomes something that I don't have complaints about anymore.
Will I think that we shouldn't look at someone in the state that he is in and think "here I am complaining". We should be more thankful but that doesn't mean that our complaints are wrong or immoral.
We all go through stuff and it is okay to express that.

I recently lost my legs at 19 I got hit by a van as a sanitation worker I’m so glad to see others inspire people besides me I’m glad to see people like him to have will to live

You can still enjoy things it's not like you can't go out, read a book, watch a movie etc. It can happen to anyone at any time. Make the best of what you have :)😊
I find these comments to be a bit difficult. Its like saying your life is shit, i would have killed myself being in your shoes… thats not very much a compliment. I think he just doesn’t have any other option. What is he gonna do instead of behaving the same as before. Its not like he picked it. So i get what you want to say but if i was him it would hurt me i guess.

People who dislike are mentally and emotionally sick! This man is physically disabled but emotionally and mentally he s the strongest person I never seen before. A hero. An inspiration.

I've never seen anything like this. I cannot begin to think how mentally strong he must be just to be able to get though this traumatic injury and extreme life change. I don't think I'm that strong and I don't think I'd be able to make it. I have total respect for this man's strength.
It’s amazing how the human body is and works. The fact that he is living without Half is body is mind blowing!
Yeah, the voice the face are so… normal…! And it’s more than half his body that’s missing, more like 2/3 of his body! No hips at all, I’m stunned that with such a short torso one can live… in a way it’s a miracle

I’m missing 1 leg above the knee I can’t imagine losing my d**k to I mean I’m trying to be respectful but that ish would make me want to off myself which I still definitely have days especially lately that I don’t have the will to live and I want to just give, but seeing this man’s attitude and strength are inspiring.

I only wish to be so strong. My aunt as a child was in Newington hospital and her roomate had only arms and a head and passed away only 6 years old. this man is a miracle and the best example of being strong

I've spent the last 23 years working in nursing and have seen many things, but never anything like this and I actually had to pause the video and consider how incredibly unlikely it is that someone could sustain something so horrific and live through it. I am absolutely amazed by this young man, too. He seems kind and friendly and I don't think I would personally have the strength or will to do anything and would probably be stuck in a permanent pity party, totally pissed off at the world and ready to opt out, yet here he is with an obvious will to live and the ability to smile and laugh. Definitely an inspiration, but it also makes me look at my life and my own issues in a completely different light. Thank you for the life lesson that I apparently needed!

I feel awful for ever wishing myself to be dead because of my depression when this beautiful person is living their life and they are being so positive and kind. I love that they’re showing their story to us. It gives me hope. I don’t know you but I love you, and I’m so thankful you’re alive.
It’s alright to have been in dark pits before and falling in them from time to time. Fighting a monster no one can see and no one can help you fight would be taxing on anyone. Never feel guilt over having difficulty when no one, not even you is born with a manual.

Don't feel bad. Depression is ruff. Maybe try lexapro if it gets bad enough. legal Opioids help some people with depression, but they can also kill people in overdose, so be careful.
All of us go through that, dont feel awful. This video does put a lot of changes to perspective tho
Depression is a different illness than being without body parts but the two illnesses are very connected and injuries and amputation can cause severe depression. I listened to a guy talk who had no arms and legs and he used to be upset or depressed but now he is happier than most people who have both their arms and legs.
And we complain about our lives!!! He lost so much, but he sounds so normal, showing no sadness in his voice. This young man is sooooo brave. God bless you Loren. 💕

Qwert Yuiop I can not believe people gave them a hard time about that. Their situation is a perfect example of an “honorable” donation. They have obviously gone through a life changing event and it’s perfectly fine to ask for monetary support from people that want to help.

I don’t understand why people ha e them crap about it. It’s probably insanely costly to provide him as much relief as possible, and their gofundme is very beneficial. I know people who abuse their gofundmes for rent when they go on vacation or for some spare cash to go to a concert, and this legit gofundme is getting crap even tho they deserve financial aid and support in such a tough time. Disappointing from those who view their videos if they’re gonna complain about helping out a bit.
I also love how privileged people do not realise how much it cost going through things like this. Like in Sweden for example and other countries sometimes the hospital and things are not that big of an issue but afterwards it helps for medication, tools, maybe renovation of a house so that it is more accessible etcetc.
Gofundme could be good but with a story like that I think everyone should share the crap out of it, maybe even get some news people to do a story hopefully catch attention of some best in the world specialist for prosthetics and robotics experts, they could linkup and donate their time to create some kind of world first in prosthetics/robotics theres some pretty advanced stuff happening with those industries it’s not like they wouldn’t gain if able to create a new successful tool
The fact that this guy goes from calm to upbeat and back is amazing. If this happened to me I would not be able to live with the anger that I would be feeling.
This guy gives me a reason to appreciate life more. It's not that this is what takes to remind me, but it is also a blessing to see him still smile.

He really is a handsome guy, everyone has their own battles but being a warrior and fighting for light and positivity in life irregardless is the most amazing quality anyone could have. This fascinates me, very glad science understands more than it ever did to help as much as possible

I am totally speech less....I met with an accident years ago and complain about my ill luck. I lost confidence and don't like to socialize with people. I gain a lot of weight, can't dress like other people coz I have to hide my scars in the neck. But when I saw your video I realise how selfish I am, I have two legs to walk ,two hands to do everything I want . In short, I'm very much normal like other people. I watched your video with tears in my eyes... yes I'm ashamed of myself. Keep the faith Loren and stay Blessed always ❤️❤️. Love you

Start slowly showing your scars, yes the cause conversation but that's a way of healing too. I have 18 surgical scars to date. His journey with all this inspires me every day to keep fighting though I have very little support and next month colostomies are getting set up.
The only scar one can have is on their souls. As long as you don't have them everything else is like a tattoo. Life is a gift, enjoy it the way you can. Cheers! :-)

He is no weight barring on either leg and is getting very frustrated. We thank you saw this video and changed our whole outlook on life. As an amputee I found this video to be VERY helpful!! There is no way to explain phantom pain and someone truly understand if they are not an amputee!! It is the most aggravating pain there is and it seems like nothing works to make it go away!! I am only a right below knee amputee, about to be above knee, but I either feel like I have a vice grip on my big toe or a constant Charlie horse in the arch of my foot! After watching this I realized the vice grip is stress related and the Charlie horse means I need to stretch!! I have been an amp for 4 years as of 12/30/2020 and this week was the FIRST time I truly got relief from phantom pain!! Thank you for sharing!!

I'm in tears and in awe of the specialized care displayed here! The patient's resilience is beyond inspiring. I've been a nurse for 27 years and adequate pain management is essential for a patient's mental health and healing. Thank you for sharing your story! My daughter is in college for either PT or OT and videos like this are so educational.

After I decades I found out what my pain is caused by, and all doctors agree this is fact, but still will not manage my pain because in Michigan it's illegal unless you have cancer basically.
There are days I battle anxiety, depressive states, and feeling overwhelmed and I think I mentally have it bad. Yet this man is surving the unthinkable. You are amazing my friend.

Comparing different life scenario is irrelevant and very silly. If doctors could cure people who suffer with a chemical imbalance in the brain ie: Bi polar and depression by taking them to visit people without any legs, genitals and one arm there would never be another suicide again. No, of course not, on the contrary the people who suffer with depression and other mental health issues, really do not choose to. Exposing depressed people to depressing situations and thinking that guilt or shame will somehow “pull themselves together” is utter bollocks.

Don't minimize your feelings, not because someone is having a worst time you should feel fine. Depression exists, your feeling are real and important.

My grandmother lost both her legs to diabetics and she use to tell us to rub her legs. Like she literally would still feel her legs. She hated the phantom pain because your trying to itch a scratch that's not technically there. We use to rub her numbs all night. I miss her. Wishing him a painless life and happiness

I’ve seen people born this way and they don’t know any difference and it’s natural for them. I can’t imagine how tough it is for this to happen to a person in the prime of their life. You are a very amazing young man. To go through something like this and have the attitude about it that you have makes you more of a man than some men with all body parts intact. I have been an amputee for 16yrs after a motorcycle accident. I never complain about phantom pain or inconvenience. But after watching this guy and wife I am sure I will never bitch again! Hes a champ!
My daughter has been an amputee for more than 35 years after childhood cancer. She would benefit from this sort of treatment and diagnostic procedure.

I am an amutee below my left knee. And it dies feel crazy. I feel like my foot hurts but there is none. Just a prosthetic.

I had watch old RUclips videos that I liked/enjoy watching (that are interested, likable, amazing etc) and noticed that I disliked them "accidentally' I saw the thumbs down, but never knew I did, and then switch, I click the like button.

honestly one of my favourite things about your videos is that, not just are all the comments full of love and support (because duh it's what you deserve and we love you both) but the fact that whoever runs the youtube account goes and 'loves' all the comments, it's just such a sweet gesture to show that what people are saying IS being read and appreciated.

When I first saw Loren in a video sitting on a bed, I thought the mattress was cut out to hide the other half of his body in a kind of spoof - but it wasn’t a trick it’s for real 😟 I never thought anyone could survive such an injury. Yet here he is, full of grace, living - I have immense admiration for them both. ❤️🙏🏼

Oh my gosh!!! What a brave amazing positive man ever!!! Respect to this man. People should be so so really grateful they have 2 legs, genitals, etc. and a healthy body!! Life puts into perspective. People must not moan about things in life. THIS is an eye opener for me. That's it, I shall never moan again. Oh my word!!!
Phantom pain is an amazing concept, I can't imagine having to deal with it nevermind your whole situation. I salute you because I truly don't think I'm strong enough to want to wake up everyday like this and would be extremely suicidal. Your a living miracle and a gift to future survivors of severe trauma
You be amazing what a little bit of prayer can do. People on these situations need alot of love 💕. I promise you that if he gets to spend time with the people he loves and the people that love him, and of course his friends, with some prayers all his pain will go away. This one might be a little boring but it was a VERY important thing for us because we finally got some tools to help relieve and target Loren's phantom pain which has been one of his biggest issues with all of this; the pain!

@@devira. He only feels pain in his phantom limbs (his limbs that are not there anymore), and mostly in his legs. He says they feel how they looked after the accident, so... quite painful
