In accordance with standard procedure, Samus discarded all of the items she collected on previous adventures before embarking on this one. This run aims for 100% item collection in the fastest time.
Super Metroid has a wide variety of time-saving glitches to exploit, many of which are explained on the page.
The in-game completion time of this run is 00:37:54, but since game timers have never really been good at rounding things up, it is shown as 00:37 after the game has been completed.

The fact this made made Tetris during the intro was hilarious
It even starts to play Snake at 1:44
there's also some pong and gradius a little later! and some inputs that groove with the music or spell things out or count items collected. and also imitate certain things happening onscreen like bombing out walls, scrolling transitions, and beams of light! lots of fun
edit: made it to the end and during baby death there's even a moment of mourning in the display :'(

There's also the part where it matches up with Samus's battle with Mother Brain in the intro.
This is one of the most awesome ideas to use input display to show different things and messages!.. and also play pong and tetris when everything becomes too boring.

@@johnsimon8457 Not quite; it had a video encode before, but this is HD quality. They've been going through and updating quality on old videos (seemingly at random, but someone actually in the community can probably explain better?) so we get to see treats like this, as well as new productions!

Awesome run! I love the display through it all. It made it a great show to watch, even for someone who has seen this game ran, rando, and even tassed several times. please give us more fun videos like this. Especially if consol verified and if you can get author commentary read out as it goes. Also it’s nice to be able to hear the game audio. So many channels turn the game audio way too low to be able to speak and it feels more like game mute
thats a limitation of the SNES' sound chip unfortunately. it was common for some instruments to cut out when sound effects played cause there were only 8 sound channels.

This TAS became the best and most entertaining than any tas i ever saw. Now if only someone can catch all the Easter Eggs of all stuff he did so I can understand which ones.

Hello New Jersey!
It took me forever to figure out where the grappling beam is because I had lost to crocomire the first time I fought him, so I felt no reason to explore that area after beating him. I didn't notice the bubbles in the lava either. My friend had this game too and he couldn't find it either.
I figured out where the beam was on the evening of school orientation for the new year and told him, then after that we raced to the finish to see who could beat the game first.
This but add a button click sound for every input
