- Cold and little snowy trail ride on my 2025 KTM 350XCF Factory Edition (big thanks to my good buddy Wally at Wheelsports, Columbus, Ohio). This is bike is FUN even in the frozen cold! Factory Editions have updated parts that improve performance and also look cool. Austrian 350's are my favorite combination of Power/Weight/Handling in a 4-stroke dirt bike!
350's are such a great combination of Power/Weight/Handling and this latest 350 engine in the updated 2025 KTM chassis with new WP spring forks does not disappoint! The latest 350 engine has stronger low to mid power compared to the previous generation engine and still pulls forever on top and both of the stock EFI maps run clean and crisp. The Factory Edition comes with an FMF slip on muffler with a spark arrester installed. With the Connectivity Unit Offroad it is easy to dial in the power character of the 350XCF. For woods riding I dial back the power and throttle response using the Gravel/Wet base power map. In the Advance settings option I minimize throttle response, minimize engine braking, and maximize Traction Control. This combination really smoothes out the initial throttle response making the 350XCF easier to ride on tight trails. Minimizing engine braking frees up the chassis and gives the bike a "lighter" feel in motion. At the MX track I can use the CUO to turn up the throttle response and use the Sand/Dry base map for a little more power feel. The CUO offers the option to change the engine power and character.
The updated stock WP spring forks are impressive! The rear of the bike has more comfort too with the updated frame along with linkage and shock changes. This updated 25 chassis is a great combination of cornering and stability and precision.

mini Four banger power wheelies 😎 steady, tractor power hill climber 🚜 frozen ground and water crossing redefines hard pack ⛄️🥶
I like frozen ground singletrack!! Some of the best times while practicing in the off period!!! The only thing that sucks is getting really hot and then freezing again during a small break,, I hate that..
Still love riding even in the cold!
I’ve noticed that you ride with the Mx version of the Akrapovic exhaust. Not the enduro version, which has a slightly longer silencer.
Are there any benefits by going with the Mx version ? How is the sound compared to enduro version ? Any risk of being to loud for enduro/trail riding ?
I am in the US and I do not see any special "enduro" version of the full Akrapovic exhaust for the 2025 KTM 350XCF. KTM Hard Parts offers the Evolution system (same as the one I use except for a titanium header). I run the full Akrapovic exhaust because the performance is good, it has a spark arrester, and is very quiet. The full Akrapovic exhaust system is noticeably quieter than the stock 25 KTM 350XCF exhaust or the FMF slip on exhaust that comes with the 25 KTM 350XCF Factory Edition. It is interesting to note the Akrapovic slip on muffler has an approximately 10mm smaller diameter at the header to muffler joint compared to the full Akrapovic exhaust system muffler. This is the system I run on my 2025 KTM 350 Factory Edition....

Wonderful. So do you always run the stock tubes on these bikes? What PSI do you use and do you ever change it?
Yes I run the stock inner tubes which are lightweight and easy to pinch flat so I run 14~15 psi most of the time. The bike would feel even more planted running a lower tire pressure (say like 10~11 psi) which is possible with heavy duty inner tubes or Tubless systems. I've briefly ridden foam mousse tires and they are also very flexible. I ride Vet moto and trails so the stock tubes work fine.
@ good info. Thanks a lot
Found this channel and it's awesome! Curious, what's the context here? Super rich and love buying new bikes? Work in the industry and just testing them out? Just curious. Merry Christmas!
Glad you found the channel! I work hard, love riding and buying different motorcycles, have friends that let me ride their bikes, and enjoy sharing my ride experiences. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
@mxengineer1 Thank you! Sounds awesome will be looking forward to to your future videos!
How is the gearing? Is it same as MX model or shorter gear 1?
The 350SXF is a 5-speed and this 350XCF is a 6-speed. I really like the latest 350XCF 6-speed. 1st is fairly low and 2/3/4/5 are fairly close with a step to 6th. The 350XCF has a very good spread of gears and 3rd and 4th work great on the moto track. Some riders prefer going down to a 13T CS (14T is stock) for tight trail riding.
What map settings have you found best for woods riding?
KTM has changed the map names. In the past for woods riding the Grave/lWet map with minimum throttle response (#1), minimum engine braking (#1), and maximum traction control (#5) was my "250F" woods map. Now it is called "Smooth" Power map and I still minimize throttle response /engine braking and maximize traction control. This results in a very smooth power that is easy to ride in the woods. What bike are you riding and what map settings have you tried so far?
@mxengineer1 i have a 25 xcf 350 factory edition. And right now I'm running smooth with engine braking all the way down throttle a notch above all the way down and traction all the way up do you keep it in the white map when you load it to your bike?
@@thomashelms4559 my understanding is when you load a map from the CUO it always goes into the White map position. Hopefully you feel the softer power in the white map after you send your map from the CUO. The green map is always the aggressive map.
@mxengineer1 ok awesome that's what I was thinking but wasn't 100% positive don't really have to much knowledge with the personal mapping my bike is strictly going to be for mountain trails and woods
Mine is completely stock factory edition except for lowering link and lowered forks
Man i am thinking of getting one of these, but I'm also looking at the Husky version of this. Are you able to do a back to back for both the factory editions?
The 2025 Husky FX350 Heritage Edition is very similar to this bike from a performance point of view. The Connectivity Unit Offroad can be added to the FX350 for engine character tuning. The radiator shrouds and front fender are a little smaller feeling on the Husky. Austrian 350's are such a great combination of Power/Weight/Handling!
@ thanks for the info! I have one more question to ask. I really like the idea of a map switch. Does either have that? And if not, can it be added?
@@endurorideraja6766 Yes you can add the Connectivity Unit Offroad to the 24/25 350XCF/FX models. I added the CUO to my 25 KTM 350XCF....same could be done on a 24/25 Husky FX350... ruclips.net/video/_g-uwN8FQm8/видео.html
@ thanks man I appreciate all the information!!!
Get yourself a set of Trellborgs
Yes I've ridden with studded Trellborgs before - amazing how well they grip the frozen ground!
I have the 2023 ktm 350 xc-f, on decel it backfires or pops, is this normal or is it running lean, all I have done aftermarket is an FMF slip on.
Yes the 23 KTM 350SXF's I have ridden had a rich feel and pop on decel. I believe KTM updated the EFI mapping for 24/25 model years. Take you 23 350XCF to a dealer and connect it to the XC2 tool and see if there is an updated EFI map available. If there is upload the new map - that should help you bike run cleaner.
@@mxengineer1 Awesome, I will do that. bike runs great other than the noise. just irritating is all.
Do you have other social media to communicate with? And / or willing to?
Go to my RUclips channel page (www.youtube.com/@mxengineer1) and there is a way to send me an email on the info section
I’m not sure why I cannot find an “info” section. I don’t see it in the About section unfortunately. I tried to leave mine but it seems RUclips won’t allow that.
@@campb636 On my home page there should be a an email option under the "More about this channel..."
