  • The 2024 Kia EV6 mid-size SUV is certainly making its presence felt, with the first-generation all-electric vehicle having now been on sale in Australia for two years, and while it's won plenty of fans, it has faced stiff competition from the all-conquering Tesla Model Y along the way.
So, how is the EV6 keeping fresh against its rivals? Well its current line-up is double the size of what was available at launch, with the entry-level Air variant and high-performance GT flagship joining the mid-spec GT-Line in the months following, offering buyers Model Y levels of choice.
In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Emily Agar and her family of three spend a week living with the more affordable EV6 Air to find out if it packs the most bang for your buck of the whole lot. In fact, could it the best value EV Kia Australia sells altogether? Watch to find out.

It is too expensive as a family car and as an entry level Kia.

I've been driving it for a year and a half, I'll never want a Tesla. Kia is like a suit - put it on and go. Doesn't press anywhere)) Sorry, I have KIA EV6 Wind.

I had an EV air for 4 months under a subscription model, and was glad to hand it back at the end of the agreement.
What I liked: it drove well.
What I disliked: hard uncomfortable manual adjustment seats. Manual boot. Hard plastics in some areas. All not acceptable in an 80k car. Never for one minute did I not feel as though I was in the poverty pack version.
I experienced the dreaded “stuck in neutral” problem twice. The car wen to a Kia dealer for a week, who assured me the issue was resolved. When it then occurred again., I decided this wasn’t for me. Disappointingly underwhelming. Now driving a GLC300 - a beautful car, and miles above Kia quality in every way.
