Even back in the 80s when I was on Okinawa at Futenma, I thought the Japanese models there were really cool. I bought a nice, white four seater Fairlady Z while I was there and loved that car. From what I remember, I wanted to ship the car back with me but due to US safety requirements it would have cost me a lot to do the safety requirements for it. Ended up giving it to a good friend when I left the rock. In your video, I think I like the Lexus best. Sporty and comfortable.....I like the latter more now because I am getting to be an old fart.

That Mitsubishi GTO SR is a AWD NA model. Just to clarify, Japan never got the FWD model like the states (that would be the SL and later the base model) but it is the same 222hp DOHC 6G72 engine. Also, the GTO Twin Turbo (full Japanese name) never came with VR4 badging, or 3000GT badging.

Johnny JP You’re the second person to point out the Soarer do I had to go back and watch the video again because I didn’t remember seeing it. Cant believe I missed it because it was literally right next to the Subaru I featured haha

That S2000 is an Ap1.
The "SR" in the GTO means it is an NA model, I think.
GTS-t is an R32 version. The ER34 equivalent to the GTS-t would be the 25GT-Turbo (which has a RB25DET). But as you showed later, that is a GT-X, which is simply a GT (NA engine) with a few more luxury equipment (like the tinted windows).
And answering your question, the AWD models have a "4" on them. GT-4 for the R34, GTS-4 for the R32, and honestly cannot remember the R33...
Holy crap, and the "not appealing wheels" on the R31 look like they're TommyKaira, that's super rare.
EDIT: I didn't mean to sound mean or anything, I love that you're showing these dealerships in Japan (and other things, in other videos), and had a lot of fun watching them.

I live in Europe and learn all my stuff from the Internet, video games and scale models, it's actually kinda sad haha. Wish I had the opportunity to actually be in Japan and see stuff with my own eyes.

Bro you just brought back my childhood memories. I was in Oki as a kid from 1996-2001 and then stationed there myself from 2005-2007. I miss that scene but have heard the drifting has moved aside to the K car scene.

the light blue honda s2000 is a AP1, (2000 - 2004). You can tell because the AP2 (2005 - up) has a different stock headlights and rims.

Nice video... Good selection of cars. I happen to like trucks and suvs as well as the JDM ledends.. The r34 4 door was nice. I like the hilux surf but idk why prople put big wheels and low low profile tires on them. They do it here too, we see them busted by pot holes.
Doesn't make sense to me either. It kinda kills the functionality of the car. If I am driving a Hilux Surf, it's going to be carrying all my scuba gear/going off road haha

The TOYOTA culture in Japan is fucking strong. I love this... they get alot of cool Toyotas America doesn't. Also that black pruis is clean just because it doesn't have a twin turbo AWD 9k rpm engine doesn't mean it's not cool.

Oh man! That r31 gts-x!!!!! Rb20det and the front bumper has a spoiler that folds down at speed or on a button on the centre console. The next car I import to Britain might just have to be an R31. Please keep looking for cars from the 80s dude

faor a daily so you could have something nice, id drive that black prius. the body shape and styling is getting better. love the sound of an angry JZ/RB/Rotary like anyone else, but would rather a mean weekend car and a prius as daily than a mild car that gives you issues every other day

I found a Evo 7 8 9 radiator locally for $70 new which is a steal and fabbed it up to fit in my car. So technically I now have an Evo 4 with 5 6 7 parts in it ha. Car was down for a day but I got it up and running and she's back on the road running good.

Hey I used to live in Japan, the kanji next to the price as well as the km reads 'maan' which is 10,000. The R-35 GTR has 1.9x(10000)km, 19000km. And is 4.98 million yen.

That’s s2000 is an AP1 and the ap2 only came with a 2.2 in the states in japan and euro and Asian markets it came with the same 2litre as the ap1 but the ap2 still got every other update
Also Nissan made basically every one of there cars with an auto version except the skyline GTR’s even Nismo 350’s and 370’s in auto

sintwoOone 3 zeros so if the price shown is 755 then the price is 755,000 yen if that makes sense but some dealers you will have to add 4 zeros.

I am sure it was a 2.4 straight 6 n/a engine but was ok for the day a £50 car there the best the engine was in bits but was all there and rebuild it bang started second turn of the key lol. Was a cool car.

Yes and no. The SL models (in the states) were NA FWD only. While the SR (Japan only model) is NA AWD. Japan never got the FWD models, but it is the same 222hp DOHC 6G72 engine.

Is it true that the JDM market R35’s have lo-jack in them that limits the top speed to ~80mph unless the car is brought to a registered racetrack? Thought I read something about that when the R35’s first we’re released worldwide.. great vids though man +1 sub
Sawyer Bolger Thanks for the sub! Not sure about the lo-jack though. It’s possible since Japan is Uber conservative with laws and they knew that the GTR is a performance monster that could cause trouble on the roads
