Man, I hate them. Had mine for less than 2 months, it was a lemon and a half. I'm so mad at them, because on paper it's like the perfect daily, but in reality the THP is such a POS that you can write the rest of the car off.

That got through an MOT in May with only two advisories for rust. An MOT tester definitely had a nice back pocket bonus from the previous owner

Purple is my fave colour, and TDC is as awesome as these lads. Also note: the huge TDC tape logo on the bottom drawer (mostly out of shot).

A place I worked at went to Vauxhalls as Company Cars. The list to choose from was varied. For a brief period it included the Astra VXR Turbo. When it was withdrawn it was accompanied by an e-mail by an e-mail saying anyone needing tyres in under 6k miles was buying their own - the lease company was refusing to underwrite the risk of middle aged men doing doing burn outs and driving the ultimate understeer machine at high speed into 90 degree corners lol

Evening guys! Just to let you know it’s missing an aluminium cover that goes over the fuel rail. So if you’re in a front end shunt the plastic fuel rail could get broken and pour fuel everywhere. Just a heads up.

Theres probably a gear linkage in the boot because the gear linkage on this generation of clios is attached to the gearbkx with plastic clips.
And its common for those clips to snap.
And you cant buy new ones for it, you can only get them off of another clio....
Talking from experience..... happened to me.... on a main road....
Luckily my local mechanic was aware of the issue and had a drawer full of the clips 😅😂😂😂

Great video lads. It really brought back memories of when I had a Clio 172 back in '02. I had that car for 4 years, looked after it, serviced it regularly at an official dealers and loved it dearly. I always wondered if the car had a good life after I sold it and not had a similar outcome to Taylor's 182

I don't necessarily consider myself a "car guy" while I do like cars, but when Alex's blur rolled in I was like "That must be a Peugeot, most probably a 207 or 208", and you just confirmed that for me :) Or at least both of us have the same guess which is almost the same :)

Yeah, 208 GTis are genuinely great buys at the moment, you can get one very cheap. I saw a mid-2010s one with 200k miles once, so they'll do the mileage if cared for as well.

Love a sporty renault just got myself a 07 twingo sport 1.2 turbo for £750 because it wasn't turning over . The grounding strap on the starter motor was corroded through I just replaced it and now it runs like a dream came with a full custom exhurst system and a blow off valve it sounds insane
Ive also had like, 10 of these little things. I cannot agree more on just how funny they are, and like Taylor said you end up selling them to be sensible and falling into another. At heart I think everyone needs to just have one on standby at all times.

I don't think so. That radio antenna doesn't look really modern to me. It's not a 207, because those have the antenna in the front of the roof. My guess is that the thumbnail actually gave it away and it's a VW Golf V.

I'm looking forward to next week's episode. I drive a 2015 208 GTi and I love it. Seeing lots of comments about how the THP was crap but pretty sure that was the pre facelift car, which looks like that's what Alex has. I've had mine for three years now and never had any mechanical issues. The only major work needed has been replacing both front shocks but that says more about UK roads than the car. Will be fun finding out if Alex's car is any good.

I love the fact that the ONE part of the car that has had welding done is the sodding exhaust because they couldn't be arsed to get a flange for it...
That poor Clio needs some proper TLC, or more realistically, about £800 worth of welding so that it can pass one last MOT before it gets carved up for parts and scrapped

I bought 182 back in 2004 and I had nothing but problems with it from day one. It was brand new with 8 miles on the clock and it broke down after 3 miles from the dealership
