    So idk if anyone will see this but i kow whats up with the gtr, i asked the owner about it in lame mans terms( he wants to rebuild it to sell it for more money, but he cant afford the parts because America and he cant bring himself to sell it). If anyone can actually get him to sell it good for you but when i talked tohim he had no interest in talking about it and kept changing subjects

      I’ve read a ton about how the Japanese mechanics “fix” these cars that have been beat to piss and they try and sell them for like 5x what they are worth. Basically putting lipstick on a pig. Usually freshen up paint, and put a body kit on it and send it to US.

    • @infantry11b97
      @infantry11b97 4 года назад +3

      Elias Dimopoulos I was never stationed in Japan, but I was stationed in Germany. The military will ship a vehicle to you from the states, or ship a vehicle you bought there back home (when you leave that duty station). You can’t just buy and ship vehicles as you wish. A relative can’t just buy a car for you and have it sent free of charge. It doesn’t work that easily. The military isn’t going to use their transportation and tome and money to help you out. Sorry to say, but they barely take care of their own soldiers.
      If you want one, you’ll have to get it yourself or a third party purchaser. Good luck.

We totally thought of importing it when her time for reenlistment offer was up but damn, all the time, import tax, logistics it was going to be roughly $30K when all said and done. I rented a car while there, a Corolla, and that was a fairly large car (with its 1.3 liter engine) and the only larger non-American car that I remember seeing was a Toyota Crown (known as the 1st generation Cressida in the U.S.) and a few Coronas.

    Lived in northern Japan for 3 years. Used cars are very cheap because you're considered trash if you own any car over 2 years old unless it's super-rare. I bought a 2 year old Prelude Si back in 1997 for $1700 but new it was $26000 (yen equivalent) 5-spd manual.

    So another thing with Dream Run is that the prices in the window are NOT always what the price for the cars.
    I tried to buy a Jimny from them about 5 months ago. The window price was about 59,000 yen (not including the jci). When I went to buy it they raised the price by 11,000 yen (not including the jci) the day I was going to buy it.
    So if you buy from them, just keep in mind that the price may not reflect what they are selling them for.

      Roro about 1500 container $3500 or more, just for shipping but then you have to have a registered importer waiting to receive it plus the window sticker isnt the out the door price.
      35万 is $3500ish
      125万 would be $12500 ish then taxes etc.
      Also he doesnt even touch on the shady side where underbody etc are rusted out. And finally most of the cars have been beat, these flybynight fanbois get into one and thats when everything starts breaking and the real cost appears

      Yeah more because American importers buy the market empty for cheap and sell them for horrendous prices. Just to sit on dealership yards gettin rusty because there isn’t an actual need for all these. 10 - 15k is okay for a Evo V but I just hope they don’t go up to 20 or even 30... people hopefully miss out on evos. It would be so sad if they just get trashed like skys and supras, so you only option of optaining a good one is to pay a terrible price. PLEASE AMERICA DONT RUIN THAT FOR THE REST OF US
