I said the exact same when I seen it in my feed, I been search google trying to describe this building the best way I can and also naming the exit it’s next too trying figure out wtf was it for
Just giving an update on my trip here. Me and brother decided to check this place out after seeing multiple reviews on it and it supposedly being security free. After managing to find an entry point into the lot (took about 30 mins due to barbed wire and fencing) we scouted it another 15 mins then started to look for an entry point in to the building (it is completely boarded up) we managed to pull back some of the boarding and work our way in and to the top (not as hard as everyone makes it seem). After getting to the top we made the mistake of climbing the billboard and that’s is where we were spotted by security and got the hell out of there. 5 mins went by and we were back at the bottom, walked out, climbed fencing and next thing you know police and security are swarming the place with the gates open searching for us. If you do go here make sure you are very careful!! Anyone that says no security is BS, this place is getting more and more strict.
I was there yesterday, they boarded up the stairway so that nobody could climb to the top but there’s a crack in the ceiling that lets you climb up to the next floor to take the stairs and it’s an amazing view from the top you can see downtown, mid town, sandy springs and Stone Mountain
@@chrisg869 how hard is it to get to the top? like what exactly do you need to do and how do you get to the second floor stair set that’s not blocked off
@@jairx4t781 there used to be multiple ways to get to the top but they sealed off every entrance like they boarded up the doors that lead to the stairs so what you have to do is climb the roof of the first floor, then climb in the window to the second floor because you can’t get to the second floor from inside the first one you have to get to the roof first, then you look for a room with a large crack In the ceiling and climb it using the water pipes that lead up to the next floor through the cracks, the crack is big enough to fit your chest in so you should be able to fit, after that you just climb the stairs till you get to the top, that’s the only way to get there tho so if they sealed the cracks then there’s no way to get up, I say this because there’s a private security guard there sometimes in a black suv and he will try to handcuff you if you get caught but he’s not there most days so just look out for him before you go in
@@chrisg869 good looking out bro, thank you! If you ever need or want anyone to tag along with i would be down, i stay maybe 15 mins away from the building so im good to go. my ig is @jairx4t7
Man I can remember seeing this building at night and how it would changes colors beautifully and used to be purple at night on the freeway. Man years as passed.
Great drone footage! Looks like renovation work has already begun, with the windows removed (they were still intact in the most recent Street View images).
I think it could be a great place for a corporate headquarters. I remember that building and it gives me nostalgia seeing it. When I was a kid living in Atlanta, when my father rode in route to downtown, I saw that building from the spaghetti junction every single time. And the billboards were the most interesting part of the building. I hope they don't demolish the place, and I hope they cand find a permanent purpose for it.
The last I heard, it was sold to a developer to build a retirement community. It looks they're working behind the building if you drive down Presidential Drive. One of local media had pictures of the proposed project, and there were plans to build a couple of other buildings around it. A couple of friends always stayed there for local conventions, like Dragon Con because it was usually one of the last hotels to sell out as it wasn't easy to get to. Those suites with the big windows were pretty much small apartments as they had a master bedroom along with a sofa bed & a small kitchen and refrigerator. The rates were in the low $100's per night, and I kinda regretted not having discovered them sooner. I think when the fire marshall evicted everyone, most of the tenant's property got left behind as you couldn't move without power. The building wasn't boarded up for the longest time, and I was tempted to look inside, but I had no idea if anyone was squatting there & I'm too old to be charged with trespassing. The building suffered a couple of waves of graffiti on the outside, and I guess it got the owners motivated to get a security guard on the property. It's been gutted, so I'm not sure what lies ahead regarding its progress, but maybe they'll finish it once things get a little better. Great footage! Thanks for posting!
@@v12productions I was there one time driving with my freinds we went in it before to check it out then we went back again saw a black suv sum dude told us he bought the building

It's still in bad shape. But thanks for the video I've lived in the northwest Atlanta suburbs since I was a kid in 2009 but I just noticed this for the first time when yesterday I had to drive from Newnan to Lawrenceville and back it looked so weird I had to know what it was
I remember partying a bit too hard and getting kicked out of that club with some friends about 22 years ago. Lol I’m it’s prime it was close to a General Motors plant so that may have been a good piece of their business. There is also a small airport near by.
Has it been torn down yet? The main reason for the problem is that over the years when Spaghetti Junction was reconfigured back in the late 1980's exists were moved and others eliminated rendering the location obsolete. Just tear it down. Circular buildings are difficult at best to configure into profitable spaces.
The old C&S building was built in a completely different manner. There, from the central core, the floors hung off of it like tree branches. This old hotel is more conventional construction with supporting columns all around its. It from a demolition perspective would be a simple job.
