Man. I drove on the highway here every day on the way home from school and remembering seeing this place under construction as it went up. It seemed like a magical place as there was nothing like it in the area at the time. I attended a birthday party shortly after it opened in 1998 and was there a few other times for events with friends. I moved away from Macon some years later and just happened to think about this place today. Sad to see it like this. Looking on Google Maps, it looks like since this video was posted, it has been fully demolished and a sort of shopping mall has been put in its place. But the name lives on as "Starcadia Cir" is still the name of the road that loops around it.
What did you say this was Mountaisia Mini Golf off of Barrett Pkwy Marietta Kennesaw? Man I swear somebody needs to save Adventure Island next to White Water it's been on the edge of decay for quite a few years now. I wanna say Mountainsia went downhill the moment Chastain Meadows Walmart opened up across the street
Nice work bringing back memories of so many places like this. Starcadia in Macon Georgia is available for sale at just above $2M. 7 acres, probably not going to ever sell at that price, as it's apparently very difficult to get to just off I-75. Also this area was supposed to get developed, but Target pulled out and so the likely reason things went downhill from there.
I bought a bunch of the everyday stuff when it closed. Tables, chairs, lockers, ect. The owner said he just couldn't overcome how far from town he was at the time. Sad really, since the sprawl has reached it now.
Mini golf was the thing back in the day, i remeber moving to Gainesville GA in 93 and few places down the road well they were demolish and have new building
I stayed in Gainesville for a minute back in 1987 before settling around Commerce in 1988 & then moving back to Covington in 1992! My son just moved to Commerce last year & i am now in Warner Robins
I remember going there for a friends birthday party, probably around 2 years before it closed. Sad to see it close down like that, it was a really fun place when I was a kid.
I watch too much TV! Can’t help thinking about all the bad things that could be going on in there. Not safe for the local kids, but I enjoyed the tour. Thanks.
Oh yes I remember this place real good I used to go to that place a lot when I was a kid it was sad when it was closing down but it's good to see that the go-kart area still intact and the Putt-Putt half of it still intact
I went there when I was four and remember this thing where you could use your boat to spray other boats with water in a big pool, i think it had easter islands in it
About the time you said:"creepy place" I was thinking the same thing! Glad you were not there alone. I think it's a cool old park though. My favorite was the tree 🏰! Anyways nice explore.
@@bmwtek13 I bet it was really beautiful back in the day. I saw a video of a metal concert there in about 2008 or 09. Far as I can tell the place still has the same owner with a sincere wish to revive the place. But from the appearance of the place now that would take a major overhaul. Anyways....Merry Christmas! You know what would be funny and cool? To vamp it up like Christmasland, vampire fangs at the front door for all! 😆
Used to go there as a child all the time.....I had won my pink glitter pen there.....awwww the memories.....kids these days don't know how fun that place was
@ Underground Retail I actually did a second video that's on my channel where I went inside as well, but looking forward to watching yours. Thanks for the subscription!
If I owned this place I would put I a skating rink, leave the go cart there and mini golf and also put some game machines inside with a gift shop and a refreshment stand and a few other ideas I would like to know if that place is for sale and make it a little fairyland place I love the little mushroom huts and also maybe even a water park with a lazy river and slides of some sorts oh yes I have big ideas for that place 😎
You know those are actually great ideas cuz I've been wondering when that place would ever open back up cuz if it ever does you'll see me go over there again I went there around 98 when it open and I continue going there until 2009 so if it can be reopened have a little something for the new generation to experience awesome place to go and have fun but I agree with the person's comment before yours kids nowadays don't know how much fun that place was and I agree
Very cool, I live not far from Macon and remember this place very well. In fact I rode by there going to Bass Pro just at the end of Nov 17. I though about riding in there and having a look. You know the only reason this place is still in as good of shape as this is due to it being on the North side. If it had been on the West side there would be nothing left. Everything stolen, mini golf holes. Go kart track, building, shrubs, grass. Nothing left but a dirt lot.
Your right about that. I grew up in Lizella and in the 80’s it was a very nice place to live. But it breaks my heart to see what it has gotten to. Not to mention Bloomfield. I went to Southwest and graduated in 86. At that time Bloomfield was a very nice place to grow up. But now all you hear about is someone get shot in a drive by or some drug bust. Like I said it breaks my heart.
There’s a lot of cool places in GA to explore. I’m going to take my drone to Rose Hill Cemetery and get some cool Ariel video. Also there are other places like a old army base in south Macon.
