I taught in room 306 for 8 years! I LOVED that building!!! It had so much storage and all that beautiful architecture just added to the environment! I smiled the whole time I watched this as I knew exactly where you were at many spots! Again...sad that this is what has become of this historic lace! Thank you!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Honestly...my first thought was of a teacher and student that went there... here's both!
That school is so we'll BUILT!
It really should be saved one way or another.... Amazing!

I was a student at Heberle Elementary School from 1988-1994, K thru 5th grade. It was kind of eerie seeing all these locations in the building that I remember as a child being so dilapidated looking now. They shut the school down in 2007 I believe due to student overcrowding and safety concerns, the building was outdated for the increase in students. This video was a bit unsettling to see, but it was neat as well. I remember that memorial fountain just like it was yesterday. Thanks for sharing this video!!

I’m in tears watching this. This is my old school. Went there in the 90s from Kindergarten to 8th grade until I went to Western Hills High School. Man we had so much fun. And we use to break in at night and run around in the dark playing hide go seek 😂😂😂 I miss the 90s man. Thank you so much for having the courage to go inside and explore. Heberle will be missed.

Beautiful old school. It's a shame that someone removed all of the radiators. A beautiful old school right next to my house was just renovated and they ripped out all of the beautiful old wood work and crystal chandeliers that were in the hallways. Now the inside of this school is plain and boring.

This is a legacy from depression era America....A lot of public school buildings were constructed then; look up the programs. These buildings could not be built today because of the expense. Solid framing, extensive brick and stone work, heavy duty interiors marble floors oak woodwork. These buildings are solid and can last for hundreds of years if properly maintained....

I was in that school a couple of times prior to it closing, the entire place smelled like old school cafeteria food. There are also some very beautiful turn of the century home's in that area, it was a wealthy area at one time. Unfortunately people and businesses are moving further and further out, population and tax base is dwindling, regentrification process is also temporary in the area . But these places are slowly being forgotten and with the economy heading for a down turn, these treasures will slowly decay and become lost memories, beautiful school. Enjoy your videos, keep up the good work.

A ray of sunshine. There are actually lumber yards that deal in exactly what you have described should be salvaged.I have worked on a demolition crew and whenever the crew does a turn-of-the-century property they definitely salvage anything these lumber yards will buy for resale. Many times local historical societies have a contact for these type of lumber yards for individuals who are restoring properties to their originality and need materials of the time era.

I'd hope it would be fixed up/reno so it could be used as a school again.
However, it would make an awesome apartment building. Those school rooms are huge and could each be an apartment. There's already a gym, locker rooms. Keep basketball, add equipment elsewhere.

I've been looking at both types of videos (videos that show the pretty side of a city, and videos that show abandoned buildings, houses, or ghettos of a city) and what I've seen from explorers like you is such extreme differences. I've seen some of these extremes with my own eyes, like recently in Georgia I saw some beautiful well built and kept homes and city areas, while I also saw some things falling apart. I guess I'm still fascinated by all of this because I'm always afraid of natural disasters or some economical or tyrannical regime making me homeless and I like to see how these bullies can justify running me off time and time again while there are so many abandoned "shelters" just like this school, that nobody is using and could provide a roof for a homeless person when there are no other shelters....

Cool video! Are you ever afraid of getting trapped and not having cell service in one of those old places? 😬

One time we went to an abandoned prison in the middle of the night. We went out a back door thinking it was outside. It was outside but inside the Yard 😳😳😳😳. As soon as we heard the door latch we just looked at each other. Luckily there was a gate on the far end that was unlocked. From now on we alway block doors to keep from from latching if we haven’t verified there is another way out of her room. I mean it would be kind of funny if we got locked in given we had service to call somebody. I’m glad you liked the video 🙏🏻

Reminds me of my high school. My school was burned down by arsonists in 1972. Some kid was pissed about something or other.

A hidden room with a couch, in a catholic school. I fear maybe some bad stuff may have happened there over 70 years.

Back in the day Mrs Schlimer the art teacher and Sister Gatz the home ec teacher used that room for some pretty wild times with male facility members.

Public Schools are much more dangerous than Catholic Schools.
Today’s Public School “teachers” are deranged, amoral communists and pedophiles.
