Cubs' Nick Madrigal NOT having to spend a day at the dentist is totally a win

So, yeah, that look on the face of the Cubs' third baseman spelled out relief better than anything Rolaids ever rolled out of the Rolaids factory. With that screamer missing the chicklets, I think dude was relatively happy with the outcome. I mean, really, one more fella on-base for his starter to deal with is hardly in the same category as an all-day, expenses-paid, date with a dentist.
A couple of percentage points added to his mound mate's resume is well worth NOT having to try and carry on a convo with a tooth doc who has his hands and tools in the ole pie hole.
Although the exit velo was "only" 96.3 MPH off Pache's stick, the expected-BA was still .510...
So, yeah, heroics of the face-busting kind need not be busted out in a late June contest with a literal tonne of innings yet to be played before a pennant race or when October glory becons. Totally a hit all the way.
Besides, considering the diminished air-quality as a result of the Quebec forest fires, dude had already taken on more than enough risk for that night.
