Finally!!!!!! I already have a full song using GarageBand midi drums and have been looking everywhere on how to switch it over to the plug-in drums, but since the notes belong to different keys it comes outs with the wrong drums playing the wrong parts. This is the first video I have found (and I’ve watched a whooooooole lot) that actually shows you how to fix this. You just saved me so much time, Thank you so much!!!!!!
I recently jumped over to AD2 from EZD2 and all I can say is wow, this is what I`ve been looking for. I love the control AD2 gives me over the sound of individual drums. Exactly what I was looking for. And the sounds! Great stuff.
Love it! I’ve been an addictive drum user for several years! I’ve used all the other brands but could never get close to everything addictive drums offers in quality, sound & practicality. I would love to see more videos like these to see if there are tips or tricks I have not uncovered yet!
i have all NI drum libs, SD2, SD3, EZD 1 + 2, GGD M&M + MH, Drumforge Ultimate, SSD4 and so much more. I really don't need another one, so i just bought it, because why not.
Usually i just use mouse to write the beat or just drag the preset & sometime use digital keyboard(use as midi controller). It's possible to change all drum map to another key? I mean, usually kick will be C-1 right? May i move it to higher C?
Hi there! Sure you can. If you go to the top right corner of AD2 and click the question mark, you'll find the Map Window. In there you can reassign any kit piece however you'd like. Simply drag and drop it on the piano roll.
I have garageband which does not allow changing time signature mid song. The TS is set for an entire song. I was thinking of having to purchase Logic BUT wondered if AD2 could help? If I were to set a TS for a set few bars in AD2 then transfer to garageband set at standard 4/4, would the AD2 drums adjust. to 4/4 or maintain its set TS?
If you drop a 3/4 beat into a 4/4 arrangement, the grid will still be 4/4, but the 3/4 part will play in time. It will sound like you switched the TS to 3/4, but the 3/4 beats won't line up with the bars. So after the 3/4 part you may need to start the 4/4 part not at beat 1 of a bar. Please send an email to our support team if you need further assistance: www.xlnaudio.com/support

Hello there. I sent multiple messages for support and seems it's taking forever for you guys to respond. Anyway I added 2 snares on the 2 flex rracks but when I hit the toms I am hearing the snares bleeding the snare spring in the fkex tracks, room and OH. Hiw can I stop this? Please don't be like Avid with sloppy tech support.
Sorry! We have recorded samples of "snare buzz" that are triggered whenever the bass drum or the toms are triggered (just like how the snare vibrates along with the other drums on a real drum kit). Go to the EDIT page and click the [SNARE] button in the bottom section. In the lower left corner of that page you have a volume slider for the Snare Buzz. Please try dialing it down and see if that helps.
Hi there! You can import any MIDI file into AD2. Just make sure you have the correct Drum Map that plays back the MIDI correctly. Guitar Pro might actually use GM (General MIDI), but I'm not completely sure.
Addictive Drums 2 isn't officially supporting iPad or Beathawk. More info here: www.xlnaudio.com/support/what-are-the-system-requirements-for-xln-audio-products
I wish I could save my own midi files to the Beats window, so that I could use the powerful engine and replace parts and add fills etc. that I use in the music of my own style. The library is still great, but it's such a missed opportunity.
You can! Click the menu button in the top right in AD2, then click "Open External MIDI Folder". Add your own midi files there, then go back to the first menu and click "Refresh MIDI Library". On the BEATS page, change the Library dropdown box to "External MIDI" and your midi files should be showing in the list. Please contact support if you have further questions: www.xlnaudio.com/support
@@xlnaudio Oh, excellent. I tried and tried to find this thing and since there were no clues to its existence, I assumed it didn't exist. But I'm glad I was wrong. Very cool. Thanks!

Hello, the sequencer in the video is the MIDI one in Logic, if you have run AD2 as a plug-in in a similar audio software you should be able to open and view MIDI files like this in a sequencer. Sure! Next to every cymbal note there is a choke note. If you look in the piano roll you have a cymbal on a white key and then the choke note is the black key to the right.

If you export your beat as a midi file in your DAW and save it in your User Midi Files folder (click the [?] button in the top right in AD2 to access it), and then hit "Refresh Library" (also in [?] menu) then it will be available on the BEATS page for all your projects.
