- I'm a huge fan of acoustic drum plugins, as I love using realistic sounding drums in my own music. Once I installed Addictive Drums 2, I quickly uninstalled my previously favorite plugin. AD2 has now become my default drum plugin and I go over some of the reasons why in this video. Interface, size, and sound all play a part in that decision.

Thank you for the walk-through. I'm considering purchasing this kit along with the Vintage dry for an album I'm doing.
Thanks for watching
My favorite go to drum software. The midi files are very useful and the drop and drag files are a blessing. This one is a winner for sure.
Really dope man!
"It's your boy Saint Joe".....Thanks for another great review/tutorial. Keep'em coming!
Thanks for watching!
There are many GOLDEN secrets in this plugin. I've been deep in it since AD1, fully loaded.
Yessssssssssssssssssssss, man, I was sleepin lol.
Great Plugin :)
Indeed.

I would say that it takes significant effort to get the ideal sound. The kits I built were a PITA to reach awesome status. That will discourage most users, but I think it's a healthy process of elimination.
Fantastic.. I gotta get this ASAP.
Thanks for watching
AD1 was my first drum vst back in 2011, although it would have been nice if there was a song mode of some kind like in BFD 3. Still its a significant upgrade. Great video, thanks.
Nice man. Guess it depends on how you work. the song mode was never something I used and I generally tend to just play the sounds manually, sometimes I'll grab a pattern and tweak it and chop it up. Really diggin this one.
AD2, my main drum weapon. Still trying to get my sound designing skills up to the ability of the plugin. Nice vid!
Yeah, it's a really dope drum plugin, thanks for watching!
Yea this is dope!
Yessir bro!
SoundsAndGear.com I'm on this ASAP thanks Saint Joe! for what you do bro!! 👍🏿✌🏿📀
Yep, I have my edrum kit hooked up and basically have tonnes of drums to play. Can even edit it, I am getting into making it sound even more realistic. Try this. Go to Edit, click on the BUS then setonly the Snare, toms and Kick to sound on it, around 75% and remove the rest. Them you can throw a bunch of compression on it, pull it down to like -80 db and check that sound. it's crazy. Funny, I have never used the beats section.
Nice! Thanks for watching
Hi. I would like to get an AD pack that can be used as an all round clean sounding pack not for a specific genre. Would you recommend Soul & RnB or something else like United Pop. Cheers.
It really depends on your preference, I prefer the sound of the Soul/R&B pack, pop would probably be more "general" I'd think.
for soul samples, or that Rick Ross Maybach Music sound, which is better, addictive drums 2 or superior drummer 3 that just came out a few months back? im trying to buy right now as i type this. everyone giving suggestions are doing more rock/metal stuff.
I have not used Superior Drummer, but I do know that both XLN and Toontrack have various expansions for their drum plugins so you could get the sounds you want. I really dig Addictive Drums though, (and EZ drummer from Toontrack) you can definitely get some dope stuff from it for what you're looking for.
ok gotcha. yeah superior drummer comes with 230 gbs of drums.. so if i buy the addictive drums 2 the complete bundle right now with all the adpaks and all kitpieces i should have more than what im looking for right? its either buy the whole ad2 collection or buy superior drummer 3 and add only 2 hip expansions to it. both will be around $500-$600
Either one will get it done honestly man, lot's of options that sound good. I'd probably get one or the other with the base expansions you want first before going all in, you may end up wanting both for different reasons lol.
I wonder if there is any youtube uploader in the world that actually plays all the drum looped samples that come with each type of addictive drums package. I get it. show how each feature works is fine. But, the main reason many of us clicked this video was to hear all of the different loops available and not just hear what the uploader wants us to hear. You feel me ? That's it.
Not sure why someone would sit there and play every single drum loop and sample? I highly doubt that's the "main reason" most people click on a video like this. That's a lot of sounds LOL. XLN also has plenty of sound demos on their site as well.
What do you think of this for producing Hip Hop/Rap?
I think you can make any type of music you want to with it
Also take a look at XO the new drum explorer plugin, that's amazing too and comes with big selection of drums mainly electronica but you can load your own samples.
@@radofficial4672 Lots of sounds in that one for sure
I have Addictive drums 2 No soul and R&B pre on it
It is a separate sound pack.
Are the sounds similar to the abbey roads library?
Different styles, but they have a bunch of different libraries so it just depends on which kit you go for.
Thank you! I also wanted to know your recommendation for a good Electric Piano VST. Is Lounge Lizard the best?
Spectrasonics Keyscape or Neo Soul Keys from Gospel Musicians
Thank you Bro!
No doubt fam!
so i take it you have relegated ezdrummer to the back and using this
on a brighter note those claps are quite unique
yeah I use this more
Mucho texto
ok
