Dissatisfied with all the ported power speakers I've tried on my desktop, Vanatoo Transparent Zero's use of a passive radiator, along with a 4 inch woofer and a 1 inch tweeter, sold me! On an 1/8 inch rubber pad, on a wooden stand, 9 inches above my desk surface, on either side of my 27 inch monitor, the VT0s resided and ruled! Using the C-Media HD CM8828 processor in my PC's audio card as the preamp, these powered speakers were phenomenal! The highs were clear and clean! Their clear bass extension was exceptional! In between, the mids, sounded normal! And, without any PAIN to my hearing !!! No listening fatigue! I love those Vanatoo Transparent Zeros! But, they now are my spares, as I am now listening to my new Vanatoo Transparent Zero Plus speakers. They sound just as good to me! The changes are all in their electronics, as requested by many users. Thank you very much, Vanatoo!
I've had my Vanatoos for almost 2 years. Love them. I have them in my bedroom along with two subs for extra low end. One of the nice things about Vanatoo is that you can buy extra remote controls. So I have two remotes: one remote on each of my bedside tables.
Do you have a subwoofer hooked up for this demo? At first I couldn't believe the sound was coming from the speakers--it sounded like a direct feed from a music file. I am really tempted to pull the trigger on these things
I do have a sub, but it was not on for the demo. The amount of bass these little things put out is tremendous for the size. They will not shake your house, they are not 6 1/2 book shelves, but for a 4 inch, wow. I had to put them on thick aftermarket foam stands cause otherwise they will vibrate right off the foam pads that are provided. They also have a built in crossover so when you do hook up a sub they will automatically change the low pass filter. They are a very versatile speaker with a lot of built in functions. They did not cheap out on these in my opinion. Do they compare to my Wharfedale diamonds hooked up to a PS audio sprout that i have? Absolutely not, but I was impressed to say the least. Hope this helps you out in your decision.

No headphone jack? Do headphones with headphone jacks on powered speakers with DAC benefit from the DAC?
