I bought the original Transparent Zero based of Josh's review. Great little desktop speakers. Last year I also bought the T1 Encores as well, those are amazing. One of the reasons I loved this company is there communication. When I bought both sets of speakers they reached out thanking me for the purchase and asking me my thoughts and some other thoughts. As well, when my first Zero's had an issue, they sent me a new set right away, emailed me a return label, and shipped the new ones before receiving the old ones. Great company, great speakers, I use both my Encores and my Zeros daily.
I have loved my T1Es for years, and Vanatoo has been incredible to work with. Glad to see the T0s and T1Es getting minor but noticeable upgrades.
I've had (and loved) my T0s for handful of years now. Always happy to see this company get the recognition they deserve. Lol seeing you have them naked on a desk triggers me since I need THICC foam to keep 'em from shaking my desk too much.
Got my T0s years ago on your recommendation and couldn’t be happier to this day. So versatile; truly the Swiss Army knife of speakers.
I've had them on my desk for about 2 years. Near field they are amazing. Completely agree with the scale, it's a 'short' soundstage, but they're tiny. Not a problem when they're only a foot away, but I wouldn't try to use them as a sound bar replacement in the living room. The laser focused center image is great for consuming content on the computer. Paired with a sub they are an unbelievably good desktop solution. One of few purchases I have made that I've never second guessed or regretted. No honking at all in my setup, but placement and room configuration are probably a factor. I also have the high pass filter engaged because of the sub. Great vid as always - love the content!
Great rundown!!! We heard these at Pacific Audio Fest and we’re super impressed! Can’t wait to get a pair in the studio. Keep up the great work Josh! 😊😊
I have the Vanatoo Transparent Zero very happy with them!
Nice to see that the channel is branching out to speakers.
That's why I always use isolation pads instead of putting them directly on a hard surface on a desk. It controls that boomtown sound so much better.
I have the OG Vanatoo Transparent Zero and LOVE it. This plus will make them an even better value.
Really interested to hear about the Drop and what (cheap hopefully) sub size etc is a good match.
these look like they would be awesome for a desk setup. I have a desk setup that is kinda an all in one sorta thing, gaming, music listening, and movie watching. And I've been looking for an awesome compact speaker setup and these seem like they tick all of the boxes
I have original T0 speakers and use them daily. Given that they utilize DSP I found that it is optimal to use a digital input (the optical in particular) rather than the analog input, regardless of the external DACs you may have available. I wonder like to see reviewers do a comparison of digital vs analog input for these speakers.
Did you ever release those other reviews?
I own the original Vanatoo Transparent Zero (T0) for my desktop setup in my home office - and I would not own anything different!!! They are that good, seriously. I actually purchased a set of the IsoAcoustics Speaker Isolation Stands from Amazon and it improved & refined the sound even more. The thing that amazes me about the T0s is their ability to just DISAPPEAR! I have a large 32" curved monitor on my desk that sits between the T0s and the sound/imaging just comes from the middle of my entire desk. When I play music it sounds like the artist and/or band are right in front me playing behind my monitor. I never hear sound directly from the T0s, rather the sound images itself across my desk as it is meant to from the recording. It makes listening to music at my desk such a joy. I totally agree with the recommendation to use a subwoofer to improve the sound even more. Don't get me wrong, the T0s have excellent bass and lower frequencies - but I learned the value of subwoofers many years ago. And a good little subwoofer just allows the T0s to focus on what they do best. I purchased the Cambridge Audio Minx X201 (www.crutchfield.com/p_779X201B/Cambridge-Audio-Minx-X201-Black.html) in Black and stick it under my desk back against the wall. It is completely out of sight and just does it's magic. Like most subwoofers, I do not have it turned up very loud - just enough to provide that low-frequency ooomph needed to make the music sound real, like it is being played right in front of you. What an outstanding sound system!
Anyway, great review and thanks for covering this new & improved product!
I still need to reach out to them ha! It was cool meeting them an chatting speakers!
I loved my Vanatoo T0 as they had better bass and imaging than the Micca RB42, however I went with the Miccas after a while because of their highs and midrange being stellar for vocals and guitars. Also you can add a subwoofer for bass or put on headphones for imaging at a desk. When I can afford them the T1E are my endgame home theatre speaker tho.
thank you for review Josh
would it be "the best" desktop speakers for you? or anything else like Genelec would win?
Great review!!! I'd love to know how good they are compared to Kali Lp-6( that are bigger and cheaper), Kali In-UNF and Genelec 8010.
Hey Josh, have you listened to Ruark Audio MR1's.
Great little speakers that i use to replace my TV speakers. They're great for films, music & general TV program stuff. They completely disappear giving the fuul illusion that voices, music & soundtracks are coming from the TV not the speakers. Dialogue is pin point accurate to the video placement of the subject.
They can be cranked up without losing control but are best at regular listening levels.
I have the mark 1's & for a bit of extra oomf for movies, i'm using a Sunfire D10 sub. Set up properly, you can't detect it until it's needed then wow! it hits you.
Ruark have updated the MR1 with extra inputs & design tweaks.
Have a look, hopefully you'll be suitably impressed (especially at there price.
Thanks for the great content esp the vids with DMS, very entertaining.
Would you recommend these for music/film production? I need smaller monitors for my space and I want a step up from my iloud micros (excellent speakers but my ex destroyed the left one :/ )
looking forward to the small desktop style speaker video.
Will the Topping A70/D70 pros in the background be the subjects of an upcoming review?
How do these compare to the iloud micros?
Hey, when is the Topping A70 and D70 review coming out? I noticed that you changed your A90 and D90SE and you haven't post a video of the new stack? How do they compare?
Does anyone have an idea whether these would be an upgrade or downgrade to the Kanto Tuk on a desktop in terms of performance alone?
Please also review the soon to be released Transparent One Encore Plus (T1E+). Please make a direct comparison with Kanto TUK.
Which speakers would you recommend in this price range for on my desk hooked up to my PC? more for music but also games. I want something powered that sounds really good and clear. I don't want to have to use a separate amp.
what computer speakers for gaming would you prefer? Do you have a top 10 ? thank you
Would you recommend upgrading from the original t0? Thanks
Owned the Transparent one original for many years and are perfect speakers to accompany my 27 inch iMac. Never could understand why this company didn't go in the opposite direction and release full size towers, center and surrounds for home theater.
Would love to see a comparison to the T1+!
How they compare to the original T0s? Are they better in SQ?
Thoughts on those Drop speakers?
Wonder how they compare to the keg q150?
What ever happened to the the small speaker comparison?
If you use any kind of speaker, please make sure it doesn't touch the desk under it with all its surface. It will transform the desk itself into a bass speaker. Use something in between that disconnects them. I use blue tennis balls from Decathlon that I cut in half. You have to make sure the surface doesn't vibrate when bass goes BRRR
Agreed. Vanatoo provides pretty good pads that go under :)
I find using a pair of basic yoga blocks works great for the decoupling of my 5 year old TO's from the surface of my desktop. It also gets the tweeters higher off the desk and more in line with my ears for what i perceive to beslightly more precise imaging which is already excellent.
@@acuras86 Sounds great. Most "professional" decoupling pads don't do much.
why you still haven't reviewed the t1 enconre PLUS??
Whaaaa..... I just got the t0's

I’m surprised that the risk of your amp blowing (and thus rendering your speakers useless) is not addressed here. I own a pair of dead TO Encores that died after 3 years and 5 months. The vendor refused any discount on replacement or toward purchase of an upgrade. The only solution they offered was to sell me a new amp with DIY instructions for $125. Unfortunately, they could not guarantee that the new amp would last any longer than the first one. I elected to go back to passives.
Vanatoo said to me that “when the amp in these does, you’re out of luck.” I consider it a $650 lesson to learn that active speakers are not yet ready for prime time. Perhaps other active speaker manufacturers offer a more durable product or sufficient warranty?
I was hoping for a quality headphone jack with the new upgrade.
How do you rate Vanatoo Transparent Zero Plus vs Dali Spektor 2, apart from being active vs passive speaker in the HIFI use?
dali spektor 2 is twice the size of those, if u comparing it to dali spektor 2 then compare it to the Vanatoo T1E
Got the previous version based on your review and they’ve been nothing but great.
What would you consider to be a step up from them?
Literally nothing, unless you wanna get larger speakers
The T1E. However, those are significantly larger speakers and they cost quite a bit more.
Wish I could get these in the UK 😢
Would like it if you could throw the ik multimedia iloud micro in the comparison. They seem excellent for the price and have been thinking of buying them.
They are superb however their ports aren't immune to loud air sounds if you turn the volume up. I run them with Dirac and the result is insane, for up to medium volumes.
@@ThePresleyelvis i only listen to low/ moderate levels, specially in nearfield, so that wouldn't be an issue.
I paid the a** in import taxes for the og ones so I'm using them till they're dust lol
this vs the swan os-10?
KEF LSX?
Wish they’d ship to Australia
i see those a70s in the backround 👀
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
How do these compare to Genelec G1?
Just saw the full video and you actually did compare with Genelecs. Just curious to see a deeper dive in your next video especially against Genelecs
Are you going to review the HFM Ananda Nano ?
Yes

Man i remember when this shit came out they were $300, then it got raised to $360, now its fucking $450
You mentioned everything except the price.
Oh and I forget
Second !
Na... TAD better.. n endgames.. peace!
It better be!, if i'm not mistaken the cheapest loudspeaker that TAD currently offers is the ME-1's....the last I looked it retails for around $14,000.00US a pair, and is only a passive design.
Now w r talking sumwhere.
