      Thank you so much for the kind words! Definitely going to be doing more in the future. Blew the motor up at 365k, been putting together a low mileage smallblock as it's replacement, so as soon as she's driving again, I'll make sure the videos keep coming!

      Hell yeah man! These trucks will literally run forever, have a 30k original mile motor going back in mine since my motor decided 365k was enough haha

      @@Brakenex Ya my grandpa owned mine for 10 years. He worked the truck hard and did alot of thing that one probably shouldn't do with a half ton pickup. Lol. It has 210k on it right now but he had a junkyard motor put into it before I got it (that's a whole other story). So no idea how many miles is on the motor. Might have to do the bottom end though. It's got what sounds like a bottom end knock on start up only. And if the factory gauge is right it's lacking oil pressure once it's warmed up good too. I've read it's a common sound and could be other things. But I don't know. Lol

      @@urnot2briteru40 dude hell yeah! That's awesome, honestly, I never expected these trucks to increase in price because they made so so so so so many of them but prices keep climbing and that alone makes me want to keep mine. It means other people are also seeing value in these things!
      And I thiiiiink mine did the same too but then again, mine would burn 3 qts every 1,000 miles haha

    • @urnot2briteru40
      @urnot2briteru40 2 года назад

      @@Brakenex Mine doesn't burn any oil. It runs way strong so I don't know. And yes I've noticed the value of them going up too. I think I got a good deal on mine at 1600. I plan to keep mine for one because it was my grandpa's and the only thing I'll probably get of his. He swaps cars so often it's crazy. In my 37 years this truck is the one he kept for the longest at 10 years. So it's got a little sentimental value. It's been around a while and I've rode and drove thousands of miles in it. I won't sell it. Might make my first video tomorrow. Just an overview, talk about some of the issues and go over plans I have as well. We shall see if I'm able to get the time while it's light out. Lol

      My only thing with black fenders, is they look like you went to walmart, grabbed some fenders and stuck them on. Some trucks it looks good, but to me it always looks like a very 'base model" look if that makes sense

    I know it's only been a year, but has the tape held up OK so far? As you probably already know, the factory used mechanical fasteners for the upper part, but the fenders were drilled inside and out for that. Retrofitting that method seems like an invitation for rot to set in.

    • @Brakenex
      @Brakenex  Год назад

      So what I had actually done was lined them with the double sided tape (fully expecting to use it) but then I just fastened them with the hardware I took from the suburban's flares and wanted to see how it turned out, and it sat so close/flush to the fenders that I never actually peeled the side of the tape to "secure it"
      So they're all still being help by the screws (I didnt use the metal fasteners themselves)

    • @Supercharged111
      @Supercharged111 Год назад +1

      @@Brakenex That's really good news, the tape would probably have a death grip then since it's not being stressed. I didn't want to have to drill these half ton fenders out, thanks!

    • @Brakenex
      @Brakenex  Год назад

      @@Supercharged111 I understand entirely man! And no kidding about the death grip! I've removed a couple of things that were securely taped with 3m and you either pull paint off or you're fighting it inch by inch to get it off clean

    My 98 red k1500 oem paint color is called victory red, you can buy it at autozone in the oem colors. Should be what yours is, but color code is in glove box

      @jjmccloud 2 года назад

      @@Brakenex Right on, guess u were already on it then 😆 im sure the not matching 100% then is due to the older paint job maybe idk its pretty close though. I used the paint for some accents and stuff inside cab and under hood so didn't have it laying on top of the actual paint job. Looked spot on that way im guessing it would be the same way as this doing it this way. Still pretty close and looks damn good! 100% better then black

      @@jjmccloud I'm fully with you on the paint match stuff! Black fenders in my honest opinion is a very specific look... paint matched looks much cleaner!
