I enjoyed your reaction to The Bee. It is such an awesome song. The song was inspired on the Kalevala, Finnish mythology, Amorphis has the Kalevala walking through a lot of songs of them. Which I find very inspiring. Tuonela is the land of the dead and The Bee brings healing to Lemminkainen (a very important figure in these tales). I'm fan of this fantastic band since 2004 and I never got disappointed by them. The style changed through the years, I like it all, but since Tomi Joutsen (the singer) joined the band it just got better for me. They have a unique playing style. My recommendation for other Amorphis songs for you to listen would be: Soothsayer, Majestic Beast (live version on youtube of Forging a Land of a Thousand Lakes is fantastic) and Black Winter Day.

Sacrifice, Death of a king, Wanderer (at live performance they advertise "this song is for ladies"), House of sleep, Under the red cloud, Nightbirds song etc etc.. you definitely should go to the live concert. Ill do that 2-5 times/year and Im always in a trance after the gig :)

Their lyrics are mostly based on Kalevala and other Finnish folklore so you got some reading to do if you want to understand wtf are they talking about. It's not about bees :-) If you want to check out more of them I recommend to start from the previous album's "Under the red cloud", "The Skull" and "The dark path". They don't have music videos but the music itself is so good you don't need them.

Yes - the singer, Tomi Joutsen, does growls, screeches, and clean vocals. Probably the most versatile metal singer out there!
Was kind of excited when Pasi Koskinen left, and even more so when they announced that Tomi would join and I heard House of Sleep and Brother Moon
One should also know about one of his other side projects: Hallatar (Mirrors is a good introduction). Very touching band history and amazing album.
For me the most versatile metal singer is Kyo from Dir en Grey, but this dude it's amazing too!
