Lewis is one of the best pilots we have on staff. Very professional. He does his homework. He will be a captain soon and a fine one he’ll be. Silver is lucky to have him !
Thank you so much, Captain! I’m thankful to have had you as my instructor on the Saab and then check airman on the ATR. I’ve learned a lot from you and it means a lot that you think so highly of me!
@Rick Linder You remind me a lot of my captain back in the days. He really helped me developing like you do with Lewis!
Amen. I want to become a pilot like you.
I love flying Silver…
The shout out from ATC at the end. The captain realised even more he was flying with a legend. Lol. 👊🏻
😂 He’s the legend. Ben is such a nice guy and a great Captain.
Honestly, after watching this video, when I get to 1500 hours, Silver Airways will probably be the first I apply to. Just the thought of being with a small group of pilots that know me and would know how I fly is a dream. Also, I live in Alabama, so moving to Florida wouldn't be a far move. Great video! One of my favorites.
Check with your cousin/wife that she doesn't mind the move, first.
@@jonb1807 Wow! That’s not stereotypical at all.
@@masonhenslee5905 - It’s OK, Mason. He’s just jealous because he couldn’t get past first base with his cousin.
I’m thinking about doing that too. I’m from hsv. Wbu
@@carsonknott9884 I'm from around Birmingham.
As a regular passenger in ART 42 600 This has been a fantastic insight as to what happens behind the closed door. Thank you.
Mate that video shows what a true professional you are
It would be a privilege and an honour for anyone to fly with you
Keep up the awesome work👏🏴
Appreciate that mate, I really do! 🤙🏻🏴
3:02 love the restless leg while reading back the clearance, i do the same exact thing 🤣
😂
This was an amazing video! Thanks Lewis, Ben, and Silver management for making this happen!
If you go on about your flying eyes discount, Lewis, you have to get us a 10% discount for Silver too so we can come fly with you
Each seat should have a pair of Flying Eyes waiting for passengers 😂
@@LewDixAviation even just a discount for booking
Excellent video sir! More of these when you're able please! 👍👍
Thanks for the video. Been watching for a few years. Got my PPL this past July after daydreaming about it for 40+ years. I really appreciate your content and it was very helpful to me during my training. As a lifelong world traveler and former paratrooper in the army I have spend a lot of time in airplanes as a passenger. I hope Silver Airline appreciates that these kinds of videos engender confidence in the professionalism of pilots and crew. Please let whoever gave you permission know that we are appreciative. Thanks.
Love the videos big fan of Silver and the ATR. Hope to see more videos of TPA and the ATR!
Nice vid, very educational on the ins and outs of the cockpit, thanks!
Thanks for such a great video and for inspiring us newer pilots getting into the industry.
Love your videos! Thank you!
Fantastic insight Lewis will there be more of these cockpit videos. Keep up the great work.
Congrats Silver, well done boys, nice video!
Hi from the UK, Superb video. Thanks for posting.
This is a really good video. Great camera setup, clear view, changes in the different camera view and conversation. 👌
Great video! Beautifully produced, shot, talkovers and editing. More importantly, great atmosphere in the cockpit with good CRM. Thank you for sharing. Keep it up!
Also, what a great time of year to advertise Florida ;)
I've lived and flown there for 4 years, moved a couple of states northbound.
Silver Airways sounds like an incredible organization. Thank you for allowing us to ride along in the jump seat.
Great video lewis! Keep making more…
Much love from the Caribbean… well done… excellent captain btw
Love the ATR!! Hope one day you do a video on the hotel mode, startup and few systems
Great insight Lew, really enjoyed it
Your knowledge is excellent and good luck with Silver who seem really friendly.
And the ATC at the end……………PRICELESS!
be safe
Scotty
love the ATR 72-600! 29 in Air New Zealand's fleet.
great video!
Thank you for sharing you flight here..
Great flight Lew, hope to see ya in December.
I have been waiting awhile for this one. Thank you for being able to put one of these up and thanks to Silver for being so cool to allow you to do it!
Ya welcome!
Great flying Mr. Lewis, as usual! Thanks for sharing!
Obrigado Gly!
silver has always been an interesting airline to me, one I will always look towards when I am looking for a career after college. Glad to know all the crew is friendly, the company cares, and everyone knows who each other is.
Great Video. I’ve been following you since you’re “early days”. Great to see the progress that you have made in your Aviation Career.
I've seen your name around the comments many a time. Thanks for sticking around for the ride!
Great video Lewis, and hello from Newcastle, UK. Flew Silver from MCO to KEYW and was impressed back in May. Actually hired a C172 whilst over there from Van Anda at Orlando Exec, thought I may bump into you, maybe next time! Keep up the great work!
Your videos have me reminiscing! Me and Ben trained in Toulouse France on the ATR!
Love these videos. Its good to hear the conversations and get into the mind of what you all speak of at altitude.
Thank you sir!
Great video, thanks for sharing the glimpse inside!
Thanks for joining us!
That climb rate! Must have you double-triple checking the airspeed! It's like flying in the winter here - I'll be climbing out at 90 knots in a PA-28 before I remember I can actually point the nose at the sky! Summer time, point the nose at the sky = die 😁
Great video Lew, your editing style is a breath of fresh air among the airline videos on YT. Happy landings!
Ah thank you so much!
Love the teamwork! And a fantastic finish to this video! 💯
Cheers mate!
Very cool and congrats to Silver for allowing this to happen!
Fantastic video and good on Silver Airways for letting you film it so we can all experience something new. Also, great flying! It's cool seeing you in something other than GA. 11 days until my private checkride! Great job!
Thanks man! Good luck on your checkride!
BUTTER!!!!! Loved the vid... Absolutely great cockpit management...
🙌🏻
What a great video! Thanks for sharing your day job with us!!
No problem. Thanks for watching!
Nice job bro! Miss flying those ATRs!
Great video!!! Inspiring! Love Captain Ben. Good job guys!
Cheers 🙌🏻
Amazing video!
10:00 great view of Anna Maria. We love to go there every year for our beach vacation. I can't wait to fly my own plane down there after I buy next year.
Great content. Enjoyed getting a look behind the Fuchsia curtain.
Thanks! 🙌🏻
Amazing thanks for sharing
Woh fantastic video, thank you.
Dude this was seriously one of the best videos I've watched in a long time. I really feel that passion to fly reinvigorated and I can't wait to get back up in the air next weekend. Awesome stuff man! Blue Skies!
That’s great man! Glad you found some inspiration from it!
I was at FLL last week and saw several of those fuschia birds. I hope to be able to fly in one some day soon.
It says silver, but this video was Gold !
BOOM! Love it 🙌🏻
Nicely done! That looked like a very smooth flight and seems like a dream to fly.
It truly is. Love the ATR!
Started the ATPL theory in Oct and seeing this was really cool as it brought the theory a little bit into practical terms. Excellent stuff as always man! And nice landing 😎
Cheers mate!
Hey Lew. Loved watching this. I'm guessing a lot of pressure from above for this to look just right. But you nailed it. Well done sir. Totally in awe of your skill man. Well done you!
Ah thanks Jon! Yea I couldn't afford to mess this one up so I'm glad it's been well received on your end! You're too kind to me my friend!
What a treat! I love the multiple cameras. Happy Thanksgiving Lew!
Thanks Mike, glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing video Lew. Professionalism at its finest.
Thank you!
Keep doing what you doing, Silver is lucky to have you 👊🏾
Thanks man!
True professional period !!! You make flying fun no matter what you are flying !!!! Blue skies !
Thank you Sir David!
What a cracking good video. Such professional pilots, and so well disciplined! Fantastic 👍🏻😀🇬🇧
Cheers mate!
That was fun! Welcome to the "pink "sky..looked like a smooth landing..hope they approve more videos like thi s...love watching u fly😊
Thank you!
Love the evolution of this channel
Ahh thanks man. We’ve come a long way 🥹
Safe travels
Awesome video! Psyched to get my hours now that I'm a newly minted CFI and join you in the 121 world in the near future! Nice landing also and Captain Ben is the man, haha! Keep up the good work.
Next level stuff right here!! Well done!
Thanks man!
great landing!! Thank you for havng us all along for the ride...:) Stay safe:)
You're welcome! Thanks for joining us.
You guys are so in sync. Love that stuff
All in a days work!
I just flew to and from Orlando to Key West a few days ago with silver airways for the first time.. I was neat to fly in the ATR! Super stoked to see this video
That’s so cool. Glad you came across the video so you can see what we do!
Great execution all around man, good god. Great Video, great music, great vibes and most of all, great flight. Well done Captain Lew.
Studying for CFI initial atm @ KHWO. Keep inspring..
Thanks so much!
Excellent Video Lewis, keep making great content🤟😎
Thanks, will do!
Lew: "Welcome to the Sky!"
Stowaway: "Jeez... LewDix!!!"
Great overview of the behind scenes of all safety procedures and cross-checks. Check.
Great Video Lewis. I have watched loads of your stuff but this one is different. Gives a fantastic insight into flying the ATR, and the sense of (and real need for) teamwork in the cockpit. Took a flight this morning from DUB to BRS which happened to be in an ATR 72-600 (EI operated by Emerald) - so a perfect watch in my hotel room tonight! Back from MAN tomorrow so guess it'll be a bit more jetty ... shame. Keep up the good work! Love your vids!
Ah thanks so much mate!
Amazing videos thanks you so much for all
Thanks!
You greased that landing Lew ! Great video as usual!
Thanks mate!
Mate, it's so good to see you up there. You deserve to enjoy the seeds of all the hard work you've put into your dream and your passion. Keep it up.
On topic. You guys made it look soo easy, you are clearly talented :D. I still can't get the warrior down as nicely as you get this beast.
Thank you so much mate! The ATR is just a big 172 without the anchor 😉
Awesome video! I'm looking at using your airlines services in April! Cheers from Vegas!
That’s great! You’re welcome on board anytime 🤙🏻
What a wonderful video, thank you.
Thank YOU
I just passed my checkride back in December. Watched your videos along the way. Saw my home field as you guys flew over KVNC.
That’s great!
I like hearing that you said how others have said that you have helped them. What you have helped me with is my landings. Those have helped me quite a bit. The other help has been the radio calls. I got my private flying from my Dad's private airstrip and into uncontrolled airports. So needless to say my radio calls with ATC are lacking compared to uncontrolled airspace. But I enjoy that you include that in your videos. I'll be listening to the radio calls and then repeating back. So far it has been helping quite a bit.
Thank you for another great video here.
That's great to hear. I'm glad you've been able to use things from my videos in your own flying. Thats amazing!
Man I’m so proud of you bro. Seen you come a long way. We appreciate you sharing your life journey Welcome 2 Thee Sky
Thanks so much! Appreciate you sticking around for the ride!
@@LewDixAviation 💯
That’s so cool listening in on communication’s between pilot and copilot..
*Captain and First Officer 😉 We’re both pilots.
@@LewDixAviation lol yes didn’t really know how to word it, so stayed safe with it and did the pilot thing.. 👍 still really cool to listen..
Great insight. Thanks
You’re welcome!
The captain is really nice !! The best pilot ever !!
Great video, awesome landing Sir.
Thank you!
A gem for new ATR pilots
Excellent Lewis!!! What a great airline to work for!
Thank Brian! It is!
@@LewDixAviation I wish I could do that but at 61 I am a little late for Part 121 operations...135 is still alive.... 🙂
Good job congratulations
Nice videos more videos with the ATR please 🙏
🙌🏻
Man this is so cool! I wanna be a pilot so badly but videos like this inspire me even more. Although I will say it also makes me nervous, to see how proficient you both are and how much goes into the whole Flight, it seems almost impossible to learn all that stuff, but I know it’s possible. I’m 30 years old and my goal is to be a pilot by the time I’m 40. Love this content!
You can be a pilot in as little as ten hours or less as in you are alone called solo up in the air all you around the airport to landing training type airplane but very much real flying or hang gliding very much real flying.Or if you want to go more complex earn money more then you have to learn to fly in weather Ifr learn aircraft systems ect.
ATC at the end was the cherry on the cake ! 😃
Watching while i study... major motivation
Fantastic!
Thank you for this Lewis, I’m starting my training with Silver the 19th and this was priceless!❤
Oh you got the job, congrats!
Why not go to a regional that offers bonuses and better airline connections?
1. Silver also offers bonuses that I don’t need to sign a contract for.
2. 10 years connections? Not thank you, in about a year(or less) I can have a sweet job at JetBlue and the way the industry is moving at this point you can go anywhere without having to sign a long 5 year contract in a regional.
3. Turboprops are fun and I wanna give it a try
4. They have a Base at PR, I’m from there so I wanna be home for a while before going to any legacy.
At the end every decision is a personal preference and for personal reasons ☺️
@@vargas3291 Well said!
@@LewDixAviation I mean if you live in PR that's one thing. But I would rather go to a Legacy regionals carrier than Silver.
Congrats man you’re a celebrity that’s cool! Your passion for aviation and teaching shines through and I personally have enjoyed watching your videos through my training as well. I’m in So Cal and have completed my private, complex, instrument and now working on my commercial. Thanks again for sharing your videos!
Fantastic video!!!
Much appreciated!
Well done Sirs
Good fun to watch.
Great stuff Lew mate.
Cheers!
Very nice!
Spectacular Landing!!
Thank you!
I fly an Epic E1000 and PC-12 turboprop out of Sarasota, FL. After watching this video I feel like applying at Silver. Thanks for the great video.
Throw the application in!
Good video. Loved it.
Thank you!
