      yeah, first of one is the lead role and one is supporting, immediately making the first one harder, and secondly, needing to show or emobdy the talents of a talented person or knowledge of a knowledgable person (musician, athlete, singer, scientist, doctor) is arguably much harder than needing to to that with their perosnal life as that one is natural to all of us, but the talent/skill is what seprated them form us and makes them "special" in our eyes
      so no brainer who was better, but it is also dishonest to compare because of Elordi, he didnt need to show off, actually it would be worse since, well, the spotlight wasnt on him, so pointless really

      And the movie in itself was terrible. It was all over the place and wtf up with the random rap and Cardi B parts.

    • @AustinMoona
      @AustinMoona Год назад +8

      @@evap.5121So the rap thing is a way of portraying the vibe that Elvis would give off back in the day. You see, in many ways, rap is today what rock n' roll was back in the day... Modern, rebellious, mostly popular among young people, music you wouldn't play around your parents, raunchy, music older people hate. You know? Elvis was a cool guy, always at front row... And they tried to portray that by using a little of today's modern music. It's a way of portraying what Elvis meant at the time. I don't like rap music but I totally understand Baz decision on that.

    • @evap.5121
      @evap.5121 Год назад +3

      @@AustinMoona ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? rap now is trash it's not equivalent to the value of African-American blues, Christian gospel, and Southern country (Elvis' influences) back in the day. They obviously just wanted the average dumb American to watch the movie. TF are you comparing Cardi B to Elvis?

    • @AustinMoona
      @AustinMoona Год назад +8

      @@evap.5121 If your take on my comment was that I was comparing Cardi B with Elvis then maybe you should try reading it again. Although I was expecting you to reply exactly that. Allow me to be clear, I'm not comparing the cultural significance of the two genres or the cultural richness or the last longing impact on society they may have. And I'm certainly not gonna list the music genres that were the building blocks of hip hop music or the origins of it cause it's besides the point. What I was trying to explain to you is that today, whether you like it or not is irrelevant, rap music has acquired a similar character to rock n' roll during those days... Raunchy, rebellious, vulgar (in the eyes of many at the time), it was young people's music. Now we appreciate rock n' roll and Elvis's music almost as if it was classic music and we value the cultural impact of it, it's part of history. However, back in the day it was nothing like that AT ALL. I mean, they even tried to put Elvis in jail for christ's sake. So it's fair to say that a lot of people at that time judged rock n' roll just the way you're judging rap today. It's history repeating itself. That's why I think they used rap music in the movie, it's a way to portray Elvis as a young "cool" guy that was always at the forefront and what he represented at the time. If you would've lived in those days you probably wouldn't have liked rock n' roll either.

      @AustinMoona Год назад +3

      @@evap.5121 I didn't even know Cardi B was the artist involved in the soundtrack of the Elvis movie till you mentioned it btw, I don't listen to rap music but that's my interpretation of why the took the decision of including modern music in the movie. A narcissist who has contradicted herself from one interview to the next for decades. Verifiable lie upon lie. You never know what to believe. And the facts coming out about the real P now.....show she was not at all the chaste "innocent" little teenage girl in Germany. Elvis was a class act compared to her. And the 7 foot tall actor with a 4 foot tall little girl! Really!

      So true and I hate that for so long Elvis has had his name dragged through mud. Of course he made bad decisions and was human but I was happy with Austin's movie in that we finally were giving the man the credit he deserved. Let him rest in peace sorta speak then this stupid movie comes out to again drag him back to the mud. This family has been through enough, why do we capitalize on negativity for them?

His hand movements. His speaking voice From 18-42 yrs old. Unbelievable. Elordi just looked like a gorilla trying to act cool. Didn't work. Absolute hated the disgusting movie.

    Austin Butler definitely portrays Elvis in all areas to perfection. If you watch the movie you can catch that sweet sneer in one millisecond before the scene ends. His moves were perfection. His voice the velvet blanket that envelopes you.Pricilla was a child and really couldn’t understand the devil in her boyfriend and husband.
    Elvis was pure reminisces of the greatest singer and entertainer and was a prisoner. Pricilla showed Elvis’ life as only she and his friends saw, we heard of his temper. But we wanted to remember the entertainers. Austin Butler sang and danced exactly like the King. Pricilla’s Elvis didn’t do either. No entertainment there.

Nothing against Jacob, but this movie is based off of Priscilla's view point. So Jacob is being Elvis behind the "Elvis" the world saw. So two completely different versions. Hands down, Austin Butler will be hard one to beat. He became Elvis with movements, voice, character, everything.

    I think anyone who plays Elvis in a movie has the utmost respect for Elvis Presley. The determination to study and understand Elvis is a pure craft of what roles these actors can perform. I saw Elvis on Netflix tonight. I've not seen the other movie of Priscilla yet. I've been to Graceland and it was the most emotional day I had . I swear to God, I felt the spirit of Elvis in his house and on the Lisa Marie. I could say more but won't. I grew up listening to Elvis. The day he passed, I cried for 3 days, and as new mother, I was heartbroken 💔 as were many. Much respect for both these aspiring actors. Well done

    The Elvis 2022 movie wasn’t focusing on elvis behind closed doors really, it was focusing on Elvis the entertainer/ his manager, what austin did for the movie was spot on each time. He sang and danced and showed emotion. I’m a huge elvjs fan and I was so overwhelmed by how much he resembled elvis in ways. The new Priscilla movie doesn’t show elvis the entertainer but the man, it also doesn’t show him in the right way, elvis wasn’t this controlling, abusive person she is making him out to be. As a “huge Elvis fan”, you should know that the movie “Elvis” is 30% accurate 70% fictional for an entertainment sake. Butler was a far better performer in this case, but the movie itself wasn’t accurate by any means. Also, the movie “Priscilla” is based off of Priscilla’s book “Elvis and Me” which is probably the most accurate representation of the man you’ll be able to find besides interviews with his friends in the Memphis Mafia.

Now, you want an accurate representation of Priscilla, Childbride by Suzanne Finstad is what you’re looking for.
