    I bought this printer because ppl were admiring it. Of course it was cheap also for just 270€. But yeah. Theres no screw holes on the build plate anymore. Now I'm waiting to get my resins. I'm hyped about my first resin printer!

    The directionality of the plate matters because if you put it on the other way you would be off by double the amount of uneven level to the glass.

    • @Jason-yn6oy
      @Jason-yn6oy 2 года назад +2

      Good clarification. The directionality matters in relation to its position when you leveled it.

      @@Jason-yn6oy, it matters BECAUSE the plate is symetrical. My Photon Mono 4k has a box that goes around the end of the cantilever, with a slot for the fixing screw on only the side facing the back. You can't put it on backwards, unless you were very, very determined XD.

    How do you make the ethernet port on the printer work? Mine won't light up, and I've found a few people that saw they got it working that aren't responding with instructions now. Manually shuttling around a USB stick is a bit annoying, when the Chitu board inside the printer has ethernet, and it's exposed on the printer housing. This printer has recently been on sale either side of around $200 USD, so we jumped on it.
    Is the vat really metal that you got? The one I got is white plastic, and the platform on the screw rails to raise and lower the print platform keeps snagging on it and locking up the printer while it makes groaning noises. I also had to rotate the vat 180 degrees from how you showed it installed, with the markings for resin levels facing away from me, to get it to print, and now the plastic is bulging out on both wide sides and again jamming the print platform arm.
    No vat cover was in the box either, even though it was listed in the manual. I'm reaching out to customer support for it, but their chat hasn't been very helpful, saying they'd escalate to technical support within 2 days, and I've not had a response in the week since that.

    How does this printer compare to Anycubic Mono X?

  • @musashidanmcgrath
    @musashidanmcgrath 3 года назад +4

    Monocure 'rapid' advises 7 sec on a mono screen? With a resin name like that? 😂😂

    • @Jason-yn6oy
      @Jason-yn6oy 2 года назад +1

      "Rapid" because they also make resin for high powered, 100w+, uv printers.
      7 seconds is incorrect though. That's the recommended setting for creality's non-monochrome LCD resin printers. This particular printer doesnt have recommended settings but I would typically do a resin exposure test and go from there. 3 seconds should be a good starting point. To be honest, I didnt prepare the slices myself and our tech who did used the recommended exposure settings for the older Creality resin printers. Sorry about that confusion

    I have been looking for a printer to print basically custom made figurines ( 6+ inches) , people told me resin is better than filament so as experts do you have any recommendations?
    This was one of the printers on the top of my list.

    • @foam27
      @foam27 3 года назад

      Yes the resin printers blow away fdm don't let anybody convince you otherwise.

    • @Jason-yn6oy
      @Jason-yn6oy 2 года назад

      @@foam27 I would agree, especially for figurines. Resin will retain WAY more detail, but the cost can be prohibitive depending on the overall dimensions of your models. You'll also want to hollow them out a bit to safe resin costs when printing.

    I have a problem with my creality ld-006 that I just got today. The problem is that files that I put on my UBS are not wisible on 3d printer. I have correct type of file (CTB) and USB drive was formated to FAT32. I'm thinking that there must be problem with USB port on my 3d printer. What do you think? Is it USB port or should I try something else?
