I've seen other reviews of these Wilsons where they also comment on the excellent front to back dispersion and surprising distance for the lofts. Wilson deserve much more credit for their better player irons. They appear as good and maybe better than anything comparable. They just don't get the same exposure. I play the original FG Tours despite being 18hcp and they are surprisingly forgiving. Hopefully will upgrade to the V6s soon.
Love this comparison. I'm absolutely smitten with my FG Tour V6 so it's useful to see a solid comparison between it and it's closest competitors. I'll be shocked if anything can outperform the V6 in the same size package.
Curtis Polysou I’m thinking of grabbing some of these. They look beautiful but nothing near me sells them so I’d be grabbing them without hitting them. How badly do they punish you for miss hits? I have ping g’s and they aren’t bad they are just massive and I feel like I’m using a shovel sometimes.
Great comparison, Wilsons length dispersion was impressive. Both clubs performed well. Would be interesting to see figures on knock down shots and clubs performance to shape shots and trajectory control.
Great comparison ......I have the Ping Iblades but while they are soft feeling for a not forged iron I missed the buttersoft feeling of a forged iron and thought about the MP18 SC. Already had a fitting and took a 6 iron for a round but then I saw your comparison review and after that also your separate review of the V6. Never thought about Wilson but after your review and the review from Rick Shields I tried it and took it side by side with the MP18 on trackman and on course. Loved the buttersoft feeling, the flight, the tight dispersion and how accurate it is.....ordered PW-4 with DG AMT S300 shaft. Thanks to you I gave Wilson a try and am loving it. Thanks 👍🏽😃
I do love the feel of the mizuno. Haven’t picked up and tried the Wilson they seem to be harder to find test clubs. I can’t wait to see the ap2 v mp 18 sc. I got my set of ap2s 4-p Friday and just love the look and feel. A buddy got a set of mp18 sc and to me the top line is quite a bit thicker on the mp. Maybe it’s just the more square shape. Nice comparison.
Thanks Michael for this review...Looks like Wilson Staff FG V6 Tour can hold it"s own with the best of them....just purchase a set of these beauties, 3 to the 9 and I Love Them...I get great feed back on my ball strikes so to Improve....Thanks again.....Ali
Awesome review! Your swing is just buttery smooth ;) I've got a question: I am looking for a new set of irons to step up my game, hcp15. I am going to our local golf store this weekend and on my list are: Wilson V6, Mizuno MP 18SC, Ping i210, Titleist 718CB, Srixon 785 and Callaway Apex Pro. Any other suggestions? bes regards from germany :)
Hi Michael, Love your reviews. If you were fitting a player and they had the same results as in your video, would you just tell the player choose on looks or recommend the Wilson as dispersion was tighter?
Pretty much irrelevant spin difference. Both will drop and stop and finish withing a foot or two of each other. Golfers put way too much emphasis on absolute spin numbers without knowing what that number actually does on the course.
Remember folks, the difference between Wilson and Wilson staff brands is like comparing a Camry to a Lexus. Wilson staff irons can compete with any top brands. Traditional lofts with great feel and distance for a great price. I play the FG tour 100 blades and live them. Brother has the V6 irons...both get a lot of looks at the range...awesome irons. Great brand. Wilson Staff...not wilson.
Tm and Callaway should take notice. Jacked up lofts are misleading. Traditional lofts are for golfers. Jacked up lofts are for those who shouldn't golf.
Gratton White Callaway & TM both offer an Iron with 34/35 Degree loft. And at the same time Mizuno & Wilson offer strong lofted game improvements models. All brands are trying to cater for all golfers.
Probably the best swing on RUclips.
Completely agree. I can't count the times I wrote here to Michael, asking for some lessons on singing the club.
This was the review I was hoping for! Thank you, Michael!
Thanks Michael.. you have a knack for picking excellent comparisons.

Two beautiful clubs (when I tried the MP18 SC it was so easy to hit) but the Wilson edged it for me

Two of the best looking irons out there

Just bought these (2nd hand) and they are so easy to hit....currently play with the Mizuno jpx 921 forged but these Wilsons are brilliant...

Great review Mike! How about testing the MP18 SC vs MP25 considering the similarities? Thanks!
Wilson V6 all the way.

Hi Michael,

97.2 swing speed on both clubs 180 vs 179 and 7200 vs 6400. 50 descent angle both on target. But that spin difference.
Pretty much irrelevant spin difference. Both will drop and stop and finish withing a foot or two of each other. Golfers put way too much emphasis on absolute spin numbers without knowing what that number actually does on the course.

I've hit the wilson and it's great , take s me back to my younger days.
Wilson is a better price
You did better with the V6...I hope your gaming those.
jonathan wright yes I am!

Ur swingspeed does not look like 98mph
Stop saying here, probably, and stop people hitting balls when you filming..
