The harpic wouldn't do as much damage if it was washed off with regular car/bike shampoo /foam, I was told by various people in the trade and those that work with metal that steel wool is not good to use on stainless steel as it buries itself in the grain of the metal and over time will causes rust.

I know it's a year on but, 0000 steel wool, great for stainless and getting rust off of chrome too. Make sure it's 0000 though. I use it all the time on my Cb1300 and Fj1200 👌

Harpic 10x contains chlorhydric acid. It will first eat all rust and grime ...then start eating Chromium... which is what makes stainless steel... oxydation resistant.
It may look nice...but the surface is damaged nevertheless.
Cleaning stainless steel with chlorhydric acid is a non sense, except if you're too lazy to find proper stainless steel cleaning acide ( based on Nitric acid) or you just want to make the bike looking good just before selling it.
My bike exhaust is cleaned every year with stainless steel welds cleaning acide, then some elbow grease and metal polish (our local is Belgom aluminum...that works fine for stainless steel too).
Last, using toilet cleaning products for my bike is just not decent...I don't shit on it😂

Great follow up to the Harpic video. Yes GT85 on my headers when not in use, stops them oxidising. And yes, do remember to wipe or wash off before starting the bike. On occasion, i have forgot but didn't seem to cause any staining, at least that i could see. Have you tried the Abranet cloth yet??? Great video, pleasure to watch, Cheers

Ha ha, great tip, I'll be keeping that one! To be fair, I was only doing the pipes but yeah, paintwork would be a very different matter.
