Nidoking and Nidoqueen don't really swap palletes. Nidoking kind of does but Nidoqueen becomes mainly green. I appreciate the idea behind it she was trying to express, but I don't really feel like it's actually accurate. If Nidoqueen became purple when she was shiny then I'd be able to see some truth to it.
Well Nidoran (female) and Nidorina have similar colors to Nidoran (male) and Nidorino and vice versa. I don't know why Nidoqueen suddenly turns green but Nidoking certainly continues the trend.
Yeah there may be some kind of gender symbolism within their colors, but given that the color swap doesn't stay consistent, I doubt that's where the symbolism comes from.
i kind of wish they would've dulled out the colors for shiny espeon. espeon has always been one of my favorites but i think a minty green, rather than a lime green wouldve suited it a lot better.

Getting a shiny Gyarados or anything you can get with fishing in X and Y is the worst. It's impossible to convince people they're legit 1/4000 chances, and not obtained through the easier methods. (I have a Shiny Luvdisc I got without Chain Fishing, for example)
If you want a Shiny Vespiqueen, you could use the Pokeradar with a male cute charmer in the first slot of your party. This makes the odds of your shiny Combee being female 2/3 which are pretty good.
My very first shiny, was a geodude. My brother caught it for me in gen 4, when I was 5 ish. I said to my brother, "Why does that geodude look different?" He just said it was rare, and I was so excited. I named it Goldie. :)
My first shiny was a golbat :D in gen 4 too i was at the age of 7 i think i knew what i shiny was but i never encountered one so that was very exciting for me also :) i threw all my hyper balls at it but i didnt catch it. I had 1 super ball left i decided to gave my big brother a try and he really caught it i was very happy :D

My only three shinies are a Scrafty (horde encounter), a Drifbloon (traded my Torterra for it), and a Sandslash (random find in B2). Then I hear about people having multiple boxes full of shinies. I cri :'(. Now onto my favorite shinies (doin top 5). 5. Metagross (especially mega); it's silver and gold. Nuff' said. 4. Aegislash; reminds me of an obsidian blade and shield. Purely amazing. 3. Greninja; it looks like an actual, epic-looking ninja instead of a blue wannabe. 2. Haxorus; one of the most menacing color schemes I have ever seen. 1. Charizard (especially mega Y); I've always liked Charizard's looks, but it's shiny is on a whole new level. Black dragons are dope.

My friend gave me a shiny female hidden ability Greninja at the start of my Pokemon X game. I was having trouble with grant and he lent me a few Pokemon, this Greninja was one. It was level 64 or so when I recieved it. It's now level 96, I feel like I have raised it well. He (my friend) continues to give me good Pokemon, even though I've beat the Elite now. He's awesome, we've been friends for over a year. Edit: The Greninja IS legit, by the way. :3
I love that you put Spinda so close to the top! For that same reason it is why Spinda has become one of my favorite Pokemon! I shiny hunted one in Alpha Sapphire and I love it!
Personally i like shiny Umbreon. and Tamashii, idk how you have the patience to sit there and hatch eggs over and over again. I tried for months on and off to try and get a shiny Eevee through the Masuda method but ultimately gave up. Too many eggs and i gave away and released many a normal Eevee. I ended up trading for a shiny Umbreon like i wanted but it feels bittersweet. I got what i wanted but it doesnt feel like i earned it
Oh and my first shiny ever was a shiny Zubat in Ruby. i knew it was special so i caught it. Ended up losing that game though and didnt find another shiny until Black, where i randomly encountered a shiny Krokorok. i evolved it and now its a very cool shiny Krookodile. i would never trade it away, its like the one legit shiny i got

My favorite shiney Pokemon was the first one I ever caught which was a ponyta it has blue flames instead of red which indicates that its flames are hotter and when ponyta evolves into rapidash it still has the blue flame but now with a slieghtly gray body plus rapidash has amazing attack and speed therefore makes me love it even more

My first shiny was an Exeggcute in LeafGreen, obviously in the Safari Zone so I got trolled and it fled. Then it's been years without encountering any at all, but then one night I found a shiny Zubat in Diamond, the following morning a shiny Rattatta and like 2 days later a shiny Machoke, I thought the game was going crazy.

Shiny Nidoqueen is the absolute worst shiny. I did an entire video on why Shiny Nidoqueen sucks so hard. Shiny Nidoqueen is my least favorite Pokémon of all time. Not Nidoqueen, but specifically Shiny Nidoqueen. It's my life's mission to find a Shiny Nidoqueen and kill it with fire. Shiny Nidoqueen is constructed out of lies, broken dreams and trollface. I hate her more than almost anything.
I used to only be able to play on emulators as a kid, back then, besides Gyarados, I had seen Poochiena, and managed to get Pidgey (evolved into Pidgeot), Pichu (evolved into Raichu), and even Raikou once. Saddly, all in different stances, and all on emulators, so they don't mean much. However after getting my ds I tried getting all possible games and make up for it. In Fire Red, while trying to complete the pokedex, I got the first one, a Weedle. I must say: Green Beedrill is PRETTY bad ass, and it makes me really sad it's not a more useful pokémon. Sadly I never gave it a cool nickname before transfering it. After that, not too many days later, I got an Onix on Victory Road, and named him Auron. Golden Steelix is amazing. Like, can you imagine a giant snake with a solid gold armor? I think it's pretty impressive. I had no luck regarding shinies in Emeral, Platinum, Soul Silver, White or White 2 despite pouring hundreds of hours in the games (despite the events for the shiny Entei, Raikou, Suicune, and the Gyarados, etc (Sadly I couldn't participate in the Palkia, Dialga, Giratina shiny distribution)) But then good luck striked again with Y. In my first day I caught a shiny male Espurr and named it Psycho. The very second day, I caught a shiny Chatot, named Reverb. And later, completing the dex, I caught a shiny Slowpoke, which I named Crown (I was going to evolve it into Slowking, but I changed my mind after the Mega Slowbro leak). Out of these, only Chatot holds a really remarkable color. It gets this really festive look. I actually feel less lucky now that I know the odds have been greatly reduced, but still, a shiny is a shiny.
I have never caught a shiny, yet people around me do. My older brother who has Red on his GBC and X (He's decided now to get back into Pokemon games) has caught about 10 shinies, but as far as I know, on Red. Maybe I need to actually try to catch Pokemon, I have about 10 in use, and 89 in total, and I've gone through the Champion. (4/20 Blaziken or Garchomp it. Mega Evolve optional)
I have NEVER EVER encountered a shiny in all the pokemon games I've played since pokemon ruby and sapphire... (except shiny gyarados, and another one I did doing the fishing method thingy... that I'm not really proud about xD) But yeah... or I'm unlucky, or your extremely lucky...
I once encountered a shiny Doduo on Emerald back when I was younger, and I never knew what it was. I caught it, and because I had just beaten the game, the new area had unlocked, and I was looking for new Pokemon, and I found a Spinarak, and I got excited because I never knew it existed before, and I dropped my gba onto the floor, before I had saved. I didn't think much of it as a kid, by now, it annoys me so much, because I have never encountered another, not including the Red Gyarados.
It's hard to get shinies, differently from what all the people say. I got a lot of shinies through trading, but, after completing the pokedéx (legitimately) and getting the Shiny Charm, I captured/bred A LOT of shinies. Now I super train my pokés and I run into a lot of shinies (Wingulls, Hoppips...), and I put them on GTS to get legendaries lol
With all the hacking people do mainly in the world of pokemon, I don't really trust trade pokémon, neither shiny, neither legendaries. I transfered myself all the pokemons from previous generations and from closest friends only. Took quite the while but I have a full pokedex being that I myself, caught 99% of it. Manaphy was a bitch tho.
My current favorite shiny is my shiny Staraptor. Finding him in a chance encounter in pokemon Platinum as a Staravia was amazing luck for me, and his coloring just makes him look both regal and battle weathered.
Okay so true story: my first Shiny outside of the Red Gyarados was actually a Nidorino, caught in either the FireRed or LeafGreen Safari Zone. I still have the resulting Nidoking to this day, and man is it awesome. I'm glad you gave some love to the Nido-lines, aside from just the fact that their Shinies are Trans, which is also awesome. I love my shiny eevee, I got it (accidently)from breeding. I was hatching some eevees to evolve and send out to WonderTrade and one of my eggs hatched a shiny. I named him Balto. Also, that's the first time I saw shiny Greninja. I tried googling an image of it, but nothing showed up for me, just the regulars. I agree that the black and red suit him, he's pretty awesome.
Umbreon is my all time favorite pokemon ever and when i saw shiny Umbreon i loved it even more. I've only ever found one shiny (aside from the red Gyarados) and it was a bronzor. Then one day i was playing X and got a Japanese eevee in a wonder trade so i decided to try out the masuda method. it took me about 120 eggs but i was off the wall when it happened. i just recently got my shiny umbreon to level 100 and i played with it so much in pokemon amie that it really feels like it loves me just as much. i know the shiny isnt really super different being as the only things that change are the eyes and circles but i still think its super cool.

My first shiny encounter was when I was playing on my Pokemon Black version. I was wandering around a random route (Don't remember which one it was) just training my Pokemon. When I went into the tall grass I got into a double battle with a Jigglypuff and a shiny Gulduck. I was really not expecting that and I had an adrenaline rush when I was trying to catch it. Then I finally caught it in a Heal ball :3
My first shiny was in white version where i random encountered a shiny axew. I thought nothing of it since i was already late game. After i beat the elite four, i decided to face them again with him in my party, holding an xp share. Then i fell in love with shiny haxorus and didn't take him off my team, despite having bad IV's and a calm nature
And here's a trivia about your shiny Greninja: it's original name is Gekkouga（ゲッコウガ） - if you take its name apart you can get gekko（ゲッコ）, which would be commonly translated as "croak" and kouga（コウガ）, which is a reference to Kouga-ryuu, a style of ninjutsu. Think that's neat? Just check this out: you can also get one more letter from its name and you have gekkou（ゲッコウ or 月光 in kanji）, which literally translates to "moonlight"! I've gotten 50+ shiny pokemon(battle ready/practically useless) just from wonder trading and while I would much rather have found/bred them on my own, it is nice to get to use pokemon that I really care about without spending days or weeks trying to get them. After getting the shiny charm I was psyched to find some RE shinies but it then dawned on me that I probably wouldn't be able to use a lot of them anyway. But now I've managed to put together my perfect Larvitar (Apricorn ball included) and I've been hatching away for at least 2 weeks now. Because both parents are 6IV i have a 1/5 chance of it being the one I need, and I'm practically crossing my fingers and shutting my eyes every time one hatches lol. After breeding one shiny pokemon it's hard to settle for just the 5IVs lol

I adore Espeon's shiny colors (everyone seems to love Umbreon's and I'm just like: snore!), but my favorite shy is defiantly Poocheyena's/Mightyena's. They go from being this boring black and gray color scheme to this refreshing brown and blue combination including a cute little blue nose~

I love the cat-like ones. Espeon was always my favorite! I have the same feelings about Espeon. She (I think Espeon's a female) has a cute but powerful look to her, and she is a Physic, which I think are very cool! I once read a book, and there was a physic girl, and she was my favorite character. Her name was Mirai, and I always thought Espeon was a Eevee version of her!
The very first Shiny Pokemon (beside Red Gyardos) was A Vulpix I found in Soul Silver, Vulpix and Ninetails are my Favorite Pokemon so finding a Shiny Vulpix almost made me cry in as the UltraBall clicked around my new little friend :)

My friend gave me a shiny female hidden ability Greninja at the start of my Pokemon X game. I was having trouble with grant and he lent me a few Pokemon, this Greninja was one. It was level 64 or so when I recieved it. It's now level 96, I feel like I have raised it well. He (my friend) continues to give me good Pokemon, even though I've beat the Elite now. He's awesome, we've been friends for over a year.

I love that you put Spinda so close to the top! For that same reason it is why Spinda has become one of my favorite Pokemon! I shiny hunted one in Alpha Sapphire and I love it!
Personally i like shiny Umbreon. and Tamashii, idk how you have the patience to sit there and hatch eggs over and over again. I tried for months on and off to try and get a shiny Eevee through the Masuda method but ultimately gave up. Too many eggs and i gave away and released many a normal Eevee. I ended up trading for a shiny Umbreon like i wanted but it feels bittersweet. I got what i wanted but it doesnt feel like i earned it
Oh and my first shiny ever was a shiny Zubat in Ruby. i knew it was special so i caught it. Ended up losing that game though and didnt find another shiny until Black, where i randomly encountered a shiny Krokorok. i evolved it and now its a very cool shiny Krookodile. i would never trade it away, its like the one legit shiny i got

My favorite shiney Pokemon was the first one I ever caught which was a ponyta it has blue flames instead of red which indicates that its flames are hotter and when ponyta evolves into rapidash it still has the blue flame but now with a slieghtly gray body plus rapidash has amazing attack and speed therefore makes me love it even more

Then it's been years without encountering any at all, but then one night I found a shiny Zubat in Diamond, the following morning a shiny Rattatta and like 2 days later a shiny Machoke, I thought the game was going crazy.
My first shiny was a Snover, and I really doubt what you said about these shinies.

Spinda was my very first shiny. I've had him since Sapphire and now he's back at home in Alpha.
Shiny Nidoqueen is the absolute worst shiny. I did an entire video on why Shiny Nidoqueen sucks so hard. Shiny Nidoqueen is my least favorite Pokémon of all time. Not Nidoqueen, but specifically Shiny Nidoqueen. It's my life's mission to find a Shiny Nidoqueen and kill it with fire. Shiny Nidoqueen is constructed out of lies, broken dreams and trollface. I hate her more than almost anything.

I used to only be able to play on emulators as a kid, back then, besides Gyarados, I had seen Poochiena, and managed to get Pidgey (evolved into Pidgeot), Pichu (evolved into Raichu), and even Raikou once. Saddly, all in different stances, and all on emulators, so they don't mean much.
However after getting my ds I tried getting all possible games and make up for it.
In Fire Red, while trying to complete the pokedex, I got the first one, a Weedle. I must say: Green Beedrill is PRETTY bad ass, and it makes me really sad it's not a more useful pokémon. Sadly I never gave it a cool nickname before transfering it. After that, not too many days later, I got an Onix on Victory Road, and named him Auron. Golden Steelix is amazing. Like, can you imagine a giant snake with a solid gold armor? I think it's pretty impressive.
I had no luck regarding shinies in Emeral, Platinum, Soul Silver, White or White 2 despite pouring hundreds of hours in the games (despite the events for the shiny Entei, Raikou, Suicune, and the Gyarados, etc (Sadly I couldn't participate in the Palkia, Dialga, Giratina shiny distribution))
But then good luck striked again with Y. In my first day I caught a shiny male Espurr and named it Psycho. The very second day, I caught a shiny Chatot, named Reverb. And later, completing the dex, I caught a shiny Slowpoke, which I named Crown (I was going to evolve it into Slowking, but I changed my mind after the Mega Slowbro leak).
Out of these, only Chatot holds a really remarkable color. It gets this really festive look.
I actually feel less lucky now that I know the odds have been greatly reduced, but still, a shiny is a shiny.
I have never caught a shiny, yet people around me do. My older brother who has Red on his GBC and X (He's decided now to get back into Pokemon games) has caught about 10 shinies, but as far as I know, on Red. Maybe I need to actually try to catch Pokemon, I have about 10 in use, and 89 in total, and I've gone through the Champion. (4/20 Blaziken or Garchomp it. Mega Evolve optional)
I have NEVER EVER encountered a shiny in all the pokemon games I've played since pokemon ruby and sapphire... (except shiny gyarados, and another one I did doing the fishing method thingy... that I'm not really proud about xD)
But yeah... or I'm unlucky, or your extremely lucky...
I once encountered a shiny Doduo on Emerald back when I was younger, and I never knew what it was. I caught it, and because I had just beaten the game, the new area had unlocked, and I was looking for new Pokemon, and I found a Spinarak, and I got excited because I never knew it existed before, and I dropped my gba onto the floor, before I had saved. I didn't think much of it as a kid, by now, it annoys me so much, because I have never encountered another, not including the Red Gyarados.
It's hard to get shinies, differently from what all the people say. I got a lot of shinies through trading, but, after completing the pokedéx (legitimately) and getting the Shiny Charm, I captured/bred A LOT of shinies. Now I super train my pokés and I run into a lot of shinies (Wingulls, Hoppips...), and I put them on GTS to get legendaries lol
With all the hacking people do mainly in the world of pokemon, I don't really trust trade pokémon, neither shiny, neither legendaries. I transfered myself all the pokemons from previous generations and from closest friends only. Took quite the while but I have a full pokedex being that I myself, caught 99% of it. Manaphy was a bitch tho.
My current favorite shiny is my shiny Staraptor. Finding him in a chance encounter in pokemon Platinum as a Staravia was amazing luck for me, and his coloring just makes him look both regal and battle weathered.

Okay so true story: my first Shiny outside of the Red Gyarados was actually a Nidorino, caught in either the FireRed or LeafGreen Safari Zone. I still have the resulting Nidoking to this day, and man is it awesome. I'm glad you gave some love to the Nido-lines, aside from just the fact that their Shinies are Trans, which is also awesome. I actually subscribed last night after finding that you're a feminist as well as a Pokemon fan, so yeah instant awesome.

I was hatching some eevees to evolve and send out to WonderTrade and one of my eggs hatched a shiny. I named him Balto.
Also, that's the first time I saw shiny Greninja. I tried googling an image of it, but nothing showed up for me, just the regulars. I agree that the black and red suit him, he's pretty awesome.

Umbreon is my all time favorite pokemon ever and when i saw shiny Umbreon i loved it even more. I've only ever found one shiny (aside from the red Gyarados) and it was a bronzor. Then one day i was playing X and got a Japanese eevee in a wonder trade so i decided to try out the masuda method. it took me about 120 eggs but i was off the wall when it happened. i just recently got my shiny umbreon to level 100 and i played with it so much in pokemon amie that it really feels like it loves me just as much. i know the shiny isnt really super different being as the only things that change are the eyes and circles but i still think its super cool.

My first shiny encounter was when I was playing on my Pokemon Black version. I was wandering around a random route (Don't remember which one it was) just training my Pokemon. When I went into the tall grass I got into a double battle with a Jigglypuff and a shiny Gulduck. I was really not expecting that and I had an adrenaline rush when I was trying to catch it. Then I finally caught it in a Heal ball :3
My first shiny was in white version where i random encountered a shiny axew. I thought nothing of it since i was already late game. After i beat the elite four, i decided to face them again with him in my party, holding an xp share. Then i fell in love with shiny haxorus and didn't take him off my team, despite having bad IV's and a calm nature
And here's a trivia about your shiny Greninja: it's original name is Gekkouga（ゲッコウガ） - if you take its name apart you can get gekko（ゲッコ）, which would be commonly translated as "croak" and kouga（コウガ）, which is a reference to Kouga-ryuu, a style of ninjutsu. Think that's neat? Just check this out: you can also get one more letter from its name and you have gekkou（ゲッコウ or 月光 in kanji）, which literally translates to "moonlight"! Remember his Final Smash, where he is seen attacking opponents with ninja moves with a full moon showering its light on the background? Now you know why Sakurai choose him: the references are numerous!

I've gotten 50+ shiny pokemon(battle ready/practically useless) just from wonder trading and while I would much rather have found/bred them on my own, it is nice to get to use pokemon that I really care about without spending days or weeks trying to get them. After getting the shiny charm I was psyched to find some RE shinies but it then dawned on me that I probably wouldn't be able to use a lot of them anyway. But now I've managed to put together my perfect Larvitar (Apricorn ball included) and I've been hatching away for at least 2 weeks now. Because both parents are 6IV i have a 1/5 chance of it being the one I need, and I'm practically crossing my fingers and shutting my eyes every time one hatches lol. After breeding one shiny pokemon it's hard to settle for just the 5IVs lol

My first Shiny was a Baltoy in Pokémon Ruby. Besides the red Gyarados, of course.
My all time favorite is Umbreon. My first shiny was Eevee and I never even knew until I turned it into an Umbreon. I saw the blue and just thought it looked amazingly badass and thought that the blue was shinning like a lot of the fan art.

I love the cat-like ones. Espeon was always my favorite! I have the same feelings about Espeon. She (I think Espeon's a female) has a cute but powerful look to her, and she is a Physic, which I think are very cool! I once read a book, and there was a physic girl, and she was my favorite character. Her name was Mirai, and I always thought Espeon was a Eevee version of her!
The calculation to find out the odds of getting a shiny Combee wasn't difficult at all, but I enjoyed the video none the less.
The very first Shiny Pokemon (beside Red Gyardos) was A Vulpix I found in Soul Silver, Vulpix and Ninetails are my Favorite Pokemon so finding a Shiny Vulpix almost made me cry in as the UltraBall clicked around my new little friend :)

My first Shiny was an Oddish that I encountered in a horde battle while EV training my Zoroark. I didn't know how to react, I was so happy, now it's a Bellossom that I use for Sweet Sent so it will always have a use. It's also the only Shiny I've ever had.
Having just recently gotten back into Pokemon, I was extremely lucky to have found a shiny Nidoran♀ a few hours into my Soul Silver playthrough. It's my first and only shiny so far, but I'm pretty darn proud of it. ^^
I have a legitamate, 5iv Kalos Bred shiny Vepiquen! Relaxed nature, Substitute, roost, toxic and attack order. I have Tamashii's ultimate rare shiny!

I do feel that most of shiny pokemons are from random palette, but shiny nineties and rapidash were specifically designed to look badass to me!
