    "You ruined my life" said Rachel to her parents. NO RACHEL you ruined many lives including your own!!! You took Syler's life for NOTHING!! You ruined her parents' and family lives, her friends, and by doing that you ruined your family's lives. as did Sheila!!! I cannot even imagine how Skyler's parents were coping through all of this. Being an only child, she must have been their whole world!!! RIP Skyler. Even though this was a while ago, my thoughts are with her parents.

      It's been a decade since they lost their daughter, too. I can imagine that the pain only worsened for the parents who had to watch Skylar's friends graduate high school, go off to college/university, get into their careers, get married or have families of their own. Skylar would be twenty-six if she had managed to survive the attack against her.
      If she had stuck with her plans of becoming a lawyer, Skylar would most likely be in her first or second year of practise. Absolutely heart wrenching that her life was ended before she could reach her potential... even more tragic when you consider that she didn't have a chance to even realise that potential.

    This case is so very heart wrenching,, ‘Skylar’s parents are the sweetest couple and Skylar their only child. Its a grid by grid search, cadaver dogs are brought in, aviation is notified, hospitals are checked, news stations are notified, every patrol officer and neighboring cities are notified and a million other things are done.
      It takes so much man power and resources and the reason u don’t do it right away because out of 10,000 missing teenagers 9,999 of them are not actually missing and you’re not gonna go through such lengths immediately if a teenager (who has no mental problems and suicidal ideations) willingly goes into someone else’s car.

    I honestly understand why Skylar kept being friends with Them even though they treated her so badly. In middle and high school I had frenemies who would spread rumors about me, play tricks on me, put things online about me, you name it. I kept being nice to them and going places with them because of naivety, “if I keep showing them how to behave then they will change”. Eventually they started writing things like “Just die already”, made a website telling me to kill myself and told other people rumors that made them attack me in the halls. But when I confronted them, it was all smiles. I believed them and now that they would have loved it if I did kill myself or wound up dead. It would have fed their egos. They act like they hate you but when you start to pul away and hang out with someone else, they lure you back in. They would act like they missed me and we would have a week of fun then something would happen and I would be miserable. Idk why but I feel like part of me wants to know why Sheila and Rachel did this to find closure. Skylar’s family deserves it

The media made it seem like the whole plan was to rob Jason of $450 because he had just gotten paid that day. So i had gotten into some pretty wild trouble around the time i was 18 got arrested and due to some crazy circumstances, i ended up on the same block at PICC on State Rd as Eddie Batzig who was the ring leader that night. Well to make a long story short, i unwittingly made "friends" with him and one day he opened up to me what really happened that night and explained to me that they loved doing dope and committed so many crimes in the year leading up to that night including armed robbery and other ish and the next logical step in their minds was to kill someone. The sick part is they didnt even know that he had that money... they simply killed him just to see what it was like out of sick, morbid curiosity! He even had fun calling himself "Eddie Hatchet"! The crazy part is we "hung out" for 3 months and if you didnt know what he was locked up for you wouldve never guessed! Its extremely disgusting how these sociopaths see little to no value in the lives of others when it comes to self serving behavior... truly disgusting!

    This case, no matter how much information is given, is still so perplexing. How two seemingly normal teenage girls at a typical high school went through with this, let alone even thought about this... Then our judicial system fails the victim and family once again by giving one of them a lenient sentence. The kind of sentence that certainly wouldn't be given to someone in poverty, someone not white, or even someone who is simply less conventionally attractive by societal terms than, for instance, Shelia. How some people believe our judicial system is anything but a pathetic mess is beyond me. At this point, I don't know why we people still place so much worth on "remorse". Which is what I assume got Sheila more time, as well as Rachel's testimony, and the bs that she is the "ring leader". This isn't f-ing "Mean Girls". If anything, Rachel is exactly what she comes off as, a mess that's fake AF. Not only did she kill her friend, but she betrays her other friend to try and save her own ass. In my book, that's worse than Shelia's not being remorseful. It shows Rachel is not worried about what she did, she's MORE worried about herself. Shelia didn't pretend to care. What makes people so naive and gullible that they believe Rachel felt bad? Was it the time she freaked out because everyone was "ruining her life"? The time she did anything to lessen her sentence? Because she cried when the pressure was on and Shelia didn't? Rachel's manipulating her way right out of prison, because she supposedly "felt sooooo bad", and because she's a "follower" and "everyone knows it" lol. Why is she the follower again? Because she's not as pretty? Because Shelia had some invisible crown on her head that meant she was the queen b? THEY BOTH PLANNED IT. They BOTH stabbed her. They both tried to bury her. How naive can people be??? They both should have gotten the same sentence, whether that was 10 years or 100, period. It is disturbing that we will let Rachel out 60+ f-ing years before we let her partner in murder out. THAT, is more mind f-ing than this case is. Rachel is, and always has been, more manipulative and full of shit than any of her friends. In the end, we are allowing one killer special treatment because of the trivial behaviors of two girls that were in their teenage years. Justice.

      Imagine what Rachel's life is gonna be like after she gets out in 2028 or worse, parole in 2024. This case is pretty famous worldwide and the 2 of them are only a couple steps below Casey Anthony in terms of fame for the murders they committed. It'll be very hard for Rachel to go anywhere or do anything in life without people knowing who she is, what she did, and hating her for it. From what I hear, the prison they're both in is like an all-girls school where you're not allowed to leave. If I were her, I'd WANT to stay there the rest of my life instead of live in the outside world where I'm so hated by everyone that I may not even survive.

    • @marioneno
      @marioneno Год назад

      That's the best way I've heard that said. You're absolutely right. As David Neese himself said in his victim-impact statement, Rachel didn't confess because of remorse for Skylar, but because she couldn't handle the pressure of law enforcement, and anybody else harassing them about Skylar, so she cracked. Her mind and body gave way, but out of selfishness - and Skylar's parents knew it. "The walls were closing in on her," said Dave in court. And they did. She needs to stay behind the walls she's in now, for a very, very long time.

    • @marioneno

      @@incomeoracle I mostly agree with you, she'll have a tough time, no doubt, but I also can't stop thinking about how most likely at some point, somebody somewhere will take pity on her, and help her out in some way. There's always someone like that, it seems. But there is indeed widespread hatred and contempt for her like you said, and it would make more sense to stay in prison, if her life is in less danger in there, as opposed to on the outside. How 'free' would she really be?

    • @incomeoracle

      @marioneno you're probably right. But that 1 person likely won't outweigh the many who despite her and some of whom talk about doing to her what she did to Skylar.
