I've heard a lot of cases in my time but this one just hit me different. Becky's story is truly one of the saddest I have ever heard. The amount of suffering that woman endured is insurmountable. I pray with my whole heart that she is finally at peace and reunited with her sister.

That ending was just..sad. So sad. These human tumors would've definitely killed many more people if she didn't survive. So her surviving saved many more lives, even if it would sadly eventually end her own.
What she's been through during that tragedy was too disturbing. It must be so difficult to live normal. The end is even more tragic. I hope her daughter have a good and happy life.
This is a tragic ending and another reason why mental health is so important. Trauma is trauma and if you can’t get over it, whatever degree it will impact everything you do
As a survivor of SA this just broke my damn heart. Two lives and for what..... for two POS who didn't even deserve to breathe the same air as those girls. When you said they were going to the bridge I was waiting for it. I think for some it could possibly be healing in some way, but I think that would have to be a long long way into the healing process and she had never started. I wish she could have done some healing. I wish life would have dealt her a better hand, she deserved it. Her sister deserved it. Hopefully now she's found some peace.
I can't wrap my head around the type of anguish she had to have been enduring to throw herself off the same bridge she'd crawled out of years before within an inch of losing her life. I'm at a loss for words: it's just a terribly sad case.
OMG, my name is Gregory Burridge and Judge Alice Burridge was my Grandmother! My father ( Tom Burridge) and my mom ( Sally Burridge-McCurdy) grew up in Casper and I spent 6 months with my grandparents each year to get away from the Chicago crime! My Mom and Grandpa always took us to the bridge each year to lay flowers in remembrance.🙏 My wife and I live in Raleigh, Nc and are subscribed to your channel..this is the saddest story in our family’s history! We are returning to Casper the 3rd week of August to attend a family reunion and visit the bridge again! Bless you for covering this crime on behalf of the Burridge family!🙏
I'm so sorry this happened to your family. Both Amy and Becky seemed like wonderful people who did not deserve this. So sad. I think of them often. I hope your family has been able to somewhat heal the wounds and live in peace❤
Certain horrible stories hit me different. This one just really hit me hard. Those poor innocent girls what torture they must of felt that horrible night. Then 19 years later the lone survivor going through turmoil for years takes her own life. May they RIP 🙏💜
The way Jiles tells his stories, I always almost forget he was NEVER at the crime scene. His story telling is a combination of talent, hardwork and practice 🤝🏾🤝🏾. And he ALWAYS pays attention and respect to the victims ❤️❤️
.. respecting the vic's is paramount .. it shows Empathy and Integrity. both are very desirable traits. He does a great job with the most difficult subjects.
I’m listening to this while getting ready for work. When I got to the ending, I couldn’t stop my tears, I started balling my eyes out. I was doing my make up and that wasn’t ideal. Sometimes sad stories like Becky’s, really make me grateful for all my hardships and problems.. and that’s one of the reasons that I’m a true crime junkie. Becky, I hope you are with your little sister right now!
This case hit me hard I almost cried. They didn't kill her but they in around about killed her. Just pure evil. I can't imagine the pain and torment she went through. My prayers are with Becky, and your sister Amy and your family. This is very sad.
no I'd say they are 100% directly responsible for killing her, thus they should have been tried for her suicide as a murder. I think the circumstances of her death could have been absolutely connected to the incident. I think a jury would agree too. There are always exceptions to rules and this fits the bill.

Wow....that ending was like a full forced horse kick to the gut. I couldn't help but cry, I knew it was coming, but it still hit like a ton of bricks.... Her daughter is only a year younger than me....I hope she is doing okay. And I hope, more than anything, the waste of oxygen who stole these beautiful lives NEVER gets out of prison....
It's sad to hear your son having to fear being kidnapped. No child should have to have such fears. When I was little I had similar fears and it's such a heavy load. I hope with you and your wife's TLC and positivity he'll soon be free to let it go.
Yes they *should* have those fears. People are people and they're going to choose good and bad things. So being prepared to meet someone who could potentially do evil to you is a great idea.
So true. I'm ennerved by the number of times I remember being put in harm's way by overly trusting adults, just lucky. I think they should teach this awareness in schools, but I don't have kids and I don't want them to get nightmares like Giles' little boy. How does a family turn out animals like this!?
Some kids worry more than others. For me, growing up in the 80’s, I was TERRIFIED of going to Hell when I died. I was also consumed with worry about a nuclear war.
This was probably the most compelling story you've put up (for me). From beginning (I have sons) to end. I literally cried. I just told my boys how much I love them. One just got his license yesterday and the other a moped. Those girls did not deserve any of that bs, and I'm happy that you're a great dad. Thank you so much for all of your videos. 🙏
When you said Becky may have survived 19 yrs earlier, but she couldn’t live. It hit hard really hard. I went through some really hard shit 13 yrs ago, and sometimes it seems like it just happened yesterday. Trauma is hard really hard sometimes. I even cried when you said he heard a splash. Poor Becky she was so young herself when this happened to her. Just awful. I really feel for her family too. Who raised her daughter do you know?
I came to say something similar. What these monsters do goes far beyond the crimes. The ripple effects are unfathomable and they are exactly why it baffles me that we seek to release, coddle and allow these deeply depraved criminals to roam free up until they kill--or much worse kill the spirit. I truly hope that all those effected by violent crimes can find peace and comfort in some way.

I’ve listened to this video countless times and just wanted to tell you how respectfully you tell Becky and Amy’s stories. I truly enjoy the dignified service you give to all of these victims.
I don’t know if there is an afterlife or if we find peace after death, but if there is then I hope with all my heart that Becky and Amy are finally in peace together. RIP to 2 innocent girls who never deserved to encounter such pure evil.

I have never heard this story before. Wow this is devastating. I feel so much for these 2 girls. Some scars never heal. Praying for the daughter that she breaks the victim cycle. So sad.
I’ve listened to and watched countless true crime stories, looked up all the gory details and crime scene photos, this is the only story I think that has made me cry while listening. Absolutely, so horrible. These poor sisters. RIP.

This one was absolutely horrific! What happened to the 11 year old tore me up to hear. It also hit me hard to listen to what happened with Becky and how hard she fought through her PTSD. I know how all of that feels, but the trauma to her was astronomical!
The truth is you don't know how it feels, no one except her knows exactly how it feels. You can only imagine how she feels, even if you went through an identical situation.
Becky’s survival 100 % saved many lives from these two wild perverted animals yet sadly could not save her precious own although it is very clear she really really tried. Becky’s story is a testimonial upon how strength may bring you through hell but the healing of unrelenting fear and nightmarish memories brands deep into a good soul. I myself, a victim of physical and mental abuse for years only drew me a full breath after my son’s father passed away from cancer at 53 years old in the early 2000’s. My son is 42 now and a good man with a loving heart because after I got out of that relationship my son was young and eventhough his father had visiting rights I never ever told him what his dad did to me on almost the daily and never spoke Ill of him which now I know was the right thing to do because he loved his father to the end of his father’s life. Most abuse is hard to take its measure, the same can be said for the abuser. I wish I had had the chance to meet Becky, that somehow our paths could have crossed, I would have told her nothing unless she asked, I would have listened. R.I.P. Sweet Sister 💔🇨🇦
Keep on being strong and your testimony Is not only therapeutic for you but instrumental for women living or had lived the same traumatic experience , will find solace for understanding and hope for a new beginning. 👏🇨🇦
If there's evidence or witnesses (that saw or you told) your son will find out. I divorced my husband because he was a seriously fucked up asshole and I know my daughter will figure that out for herself in time. As she gets older she'll notice clues.
This one hit a lot harder than most episodes do. Had me raging and crying by the end. They're right in a way, there was a miscarriage of justice. Prison is not enough for monsters like that.
Your approach to telling this story is admirable. Thank you for telling whole damage inflicted on the victims. This shows how the pain still lingers and effects people. The daughter and other loved ones will always carry this pain.
Yeah, this one broke me, the end had me crying because I could tell what was coming but praying it didn’t. Trauma never leaves you, sometimes it’s really hard to navigate, I know since being diagnosed with PTSD and being medicated has helped, but a childhood mostly filled with abuse and trauma has never left me, but thankfully the mental health help available today is a lot better than what was available in the 80’s
I'm glad they got that kind of sentencing. I would gladly pay more taxes and support building more prisons if they would keep them in as long as possible. You can't fix this kind of psychopath, I'd give life for the first rape or child crime, also abusers at home.
I appreciate how well you present these difficult stories. I was r***d by a stepfather between ages 7-9 and have had PTSD ever since. I think Becky had it, too. I can't imagine how a man throws a child off a bridge, but I can imagine Amy's terror. I like how you framed this story around Becky's survival and eventual suicide. It made me consider how hard it can be to piece together a daily life and keep the puzzle from cracking apart again.

I'm sorry for what you've suffered. I'm still rage about events of my childhood but am learning to forguve. It destroys one's ability to live life positively. I think it is true to say that when you give forth what you didn't receive as a child is healing. I went into Early Childhood Education to love and nurture children. What you get back is absolutely amazing.

Wow...this was quite a horrifying, yet very interesting episode. You did a tremendous job presenting it to us, & I thank you. The care & effort that goes into your videos really shows. I never expected Becky's story to have such a heartbreaking conclusion. Her poor mother... to end up losing both daughters so tragically... I can't even imagine. And poor Becky- she tried so hard to live a "normal" life after the brutal attack on her & her little sister, but the emotional damage of trauma can't always be overcome, no matter how hard you try. I hope Becky's own child has had the support necessary to deal with the tragic loss of her mom. My heart hurts for all involved. 💔😥

I understand what you were saying about kidnappings when you were a kid. We moved to Central/ South Florida 6 weeks before Adam Walsh was kidnapped. It scared the hell out of my folks.
This is truly one of the saddest episodes I've ever seen smh. I cannot imagine the depression and anxiety that drove Becky for those miserable 19 years. Ron and Jerry are absolutely responsible for her death but I hope that Ron wasn't told about her suicide; he would rejoice.

While it's important to remember safety, it's important to LIVE as well - live every day as if it's your last!
This reminds me of another case , where a sicko assaulted a woman, cut her arms off and pushed her into a ravine to die. Luckily she survived, and was given prosthetic arms. She even got married and had children, and testified against him in court.
When I was a child in fourth grade my friend ended up being kidnapped his grandmother as well and for 3 years there were no clues until his body was found in the woods I still never found his grandmother's body. He was a very good friend of mine we hung out every single day and it hit us hard when he got kidnapped people are evil
I watch solved and unsolved murders all the time and none have ever brought me to tears like this story did. I can’t even begin to imagine what these poor girls went through. As you told this story I imagined all of the fear and pain they must have gone through. To think that she went back to that bridge and ended her life….. it breaks my heart to think about the immense sadness Becky lived with until the day she decided to join her sister. May they Rest In Peace.

God, that detail about her spinal cord going into her brain is just brutal. I desperately hope that she wasn't able to feel anything and died quickly and painlessly. Becky's story after the trial is heartbreaking. SO often in these cases, a women (or man) goes through something horrific, but is able to not only survive, but actually overcome and thrive despite the horror. It's amazing when that happens. But I think it's also the exception. Sadly, when a person experiences something like Becky does, the experience destroys them forever. Or at least destroys a huge part of them that they never get back. We can always hope that the victim will fully recover and live a fulfilling life, but we have to remember that often times, that's not how the story ends. These people need immense amounts of support and for everyone around them to rally around them to try and keep them afloat. I hope Becky is finally at peace after her unimaginable ordeal. Her life essentially ended at 18. We also have to remember her parents. They lost 1 child, and then another, slowly.
The thing that infuriates me about this case every time I hear it is that these men should have never been out in the first place. They were known by police and they've committed multiple crimes and done just terrible acts on people but here they are walking and just being free living their lives. They should have never been out in the first place and if they weren't this wouldn't have happened. And I just feel so terrible for Becky because I don't even know if I could fathom the pain that she within and the guilt she probably felt for taking her sister with her that night. And I truly hope that both of them are at peace. I don't really believe in heaven and stuff like that but if it's real and I know that they are up there because that is what they deserve. And I hope that if hell is real that Ron and Jerry suffer immensely for the rest of days.
I wonder about Darcy, the new mother waiting to go pick up her baby at the hospital. I hope those kids are okay and Darcy never told them who their real father was. At least they were spared the future too, I don't want to picture him babysitting while poor mom was at work.
Poor poor Becky and Amy. I hope Becky found the peace she deserved, or at least just an ending to the unbearable pain she had to carry. If there is a heaven I hope her and Amy are reunited. Such an endlessly sad case.
I've listened to every episode of this podcast, and after hearing it on Spotify, I had to come express how sad the ending to this woman's story is. You've covered other sick and twisted subject matter, but this hits different, because instead of this being a somewhat instant death/murder, she was slowly dying for 19 years mentally.
I appreciate having the updates on what happened to survivors after their horrors. When survivors serve a long sentence their attackers justly should too.

I tend to be skeptical of "habitual offender" laws, like in California and other states, where on your third felony you get a life sentence regardless of the seriousness of it. These two bastards have allowed me to have a better understanding of why they were imposed in the first place.

It's hard to give them comfort when they see so much on TV and the internet. And thank you for telling Amy and Becky's story. I can't even imagine how they must have felt when they reached that bridge. Heartbreaking, but also a powerful testament to Becky's strength and will to survive her ordeal. I was born on Sept 24, 1973. This one really affected me; not only for the 11 year old but also how it ended. What an awful story - those poor kids. I wonder if Wyoming actually following through with the planned 09/25/74 execution would have saved Becky in her later years? We'll never know.

This is a beautiful episode, you did a wonderful job educating your son and giving us the means to educate ourselves and our own children but also, shining a light on the pain and fear and mental health/drug use that can happen to a victim of SA.
As you were talking about Becky I could feel my stomach churning knowing this wasn't going to end the way I was hoping n praying it would. I think sometimes the trauma is just too much for the body n soul & it became all consuming. Every 5 years having to hold her breath in fear of these scum being released was just adding salt to the forever open wound. How Becky survived that first night show's her strength, determination & will that her daughter should be so proud of.

Don't recall the title but i read that book. I turned away from true crime books for quite a while. wasn't expecting that last chapter. Sad they weren't bonded out. think of skidmore mo.
Such a terrible shame. I don't know who got it worse, Amy or Becky. At least Amy didn't suffer for long. Becky suffered for years. I don't understand why people back then didn't seem to get professional help. Becky spent plenty of time getting help for her physical problems, but clearly neither her parents or her ever got her mental help. Of course I never met Becky, but I automatically know that anyone who survives a trauma like that can't come back from it on they're own. I've gotten lots of help for my mental issues over the years. Lately I've struggled a lot, but most of the time it has helped a great deal. I'm so glad tiM encourages anyone to seek help at the end of each episode!
I know its hard to measure but channels like yours informs enough people that I believe its a part of the reduced percentage. Knowing is half the battle. Talk to you kids no matter how difficult it is.

That ending was just..sad. So sad. These human tumors would've definitely killed many more people if she didn't survive. So her surviving saved many more lives, even if it would sadly eventually end her own.

As a survivor of SA this just broke my damn heart. Two lives and for what..... for two POS who didn't even deserve to breathe the same air as those girls. When you said they were going to the bridge I was waiting for it. I think for some it could possibly be healing in some way, but I think that would have to be a long long way into the healing process and she had never started. I wish she could have done some healing. I wish life would have dealt her a better hand, she deserved it. Her sister deserved it. Hopefully now she's found some peace.

no I'd say they are 100% directly responsible for killing her, thus they should have been tried for her suicide as a murder. I think the circumstances of her death could have been absolutely connected to the incident. I think a jury would agree too. There are always exceptions to rules and this fits the bill.

Yes they *should* have those fears. People are people and they're going to choose good and bad things. So being prepared to meet someone who could potentially do evil to you is a great idea.

When you said Becky may have survived 19 yrs earlier, but she couldn’t live. It hit hard really hard. I went through some really hard shit 13 yrs ago, and sometimes it seems like it just happened yesterday. Trauma is hard really hard sometimes. I even cried when you said he heard a splash. Poor Becky she was so young herself when this happened to her. Just awful. I really feel for her family too. Who raised her daughter do you know?

I came to say something similar. What these monsters do goes far beyond the crimes. The ripple effects are unfathomable and they are exactly why it baffles me that we seek to release, coddle and allow these deeply depraved criminals to roam free up until they kill--or much worse kill the spirit. I truly hope that all those effected by violent crimes can find peace and comfort in some way.

This one was absolutely horrific! What happened to the 11 year old tore me up to hear. It also hit me hard to listen to what happened with Becky and how hard she fought through her PTSD. I know how all of that feels, but the trauma to her was astronomical!
The truth is you don't know how it feels, no one except her knows exactly how it feels. You can only imagine how she feels, even if you went through an identical situation.
Becky’s survival 100 % saved many lives from these two wild perverted animals yet sadly could not save her precious own although it is very clear she really really tried. Becky’s story is a testimonial upon how strength may bring you through hell but the healing of unrelenting fear and nightmarish memories brands deep into a good soul. I myself, a victim of physical and mental abuse for years only drew me a full breath after my son’s father passed away from cancer at 53 years old in the early 2000’s. My son is 42 now and a good man with a loving heart because after I got out of that relationship my son was young and eventhough his father had visiting rights I never ever told him what his dad did to me on almost the daily and never spoke Ill of him which now I know was the right thing to do because he loved his father to the end of his father’s life. Most abuse is hard to take its measure, the same can be said for the abuser. I wish I had had the chance to meet Becky, that somehow our paths could have crossed, I would have told her nothing unless she asked, I would have listened. R.I.P. Sweet Sister 💔🇨🇦

Yeah, this one broke me, the end had me crying because I could tell what was coming but praying it didn’t. Trauma never leaves you, sometimes it’s really hard to navigate, I know since being diagnosed with PTSD and being medicated has helped, but a childhood mostly filled with abuse and trauma has never left me, but thankfully the mental health help available today is a lot better than what was available in the 80’s

I'm glad they got that kind of sentencing. I would gladly pay more taxes and support building more prisons if they would keep them in as long as possible. You can't fix this kind of psychopath, I'd give life for the first rape or child crime, also abusers at home.
I appreciate how well you present these difficult stories. I was r***d by a stepfather between ages 7-9 and have had PTSD ever since. I think Becky had it, too. I can't imagine how a man throws a child off a bridge, but I can imagine Amy's terror. I like how you framed this story around Becky's survival and eventual suicide. It made me consider how hard it can be to piece together a daily life and keep the puzzle from cracking apart again.

I'm sorry for what you've suffered. I'm still rage about events of my childhood but am learning to forguve. It destroys one's ability to live life positively. I think it is true to say that when you give forth what you didn't receive as a child is healing. I went into Early Childhood Education to love and nurture children. What you get back is absolutely amazing.

I never expected Becky's story to have such a heartbreaking conclusion. Her poor mother... to end up losing both daughters so tragically... I can't even imagine. And poor Becky- she tried so hard to live a "normal" life after the brutal attack on her & her little sister, but the emotional damage of trauma can't always be overcome, no matter how hard you try. I hope Becky's own child has had the support necessary to deal with the tragic loss of her mom. My heart hurts for all involved. 💔😥

This reminds me of another case , where a sicko assaulted a woman, cut her arms off and pushed her into a ravine to die. Luckily she survived, and was given prosthetic arms. She even got married and had children, and testified against him in court.
When I was a child in fourth grade my friend ended up being kidnapped his grandmother as well and for 3 years there were no clues until his body was found in the woods I still never found his grandmother's body. He was a very good friend of mine we hung out every single day and it hit us hard when he got kidnapped people are evil

I watch solved and unsolved murders all the time and none have ever brought me to tears like this story did. I can’t even begin to imagine what these poor girls went through. As you told this story I imagined all of the fear and pain they must have gone through. To think that she went back to that bridge and ended her life….. it breaks my heart to think about the immense sadness Becky lived with until the day she decided to join her sister. My grandson was very scared of being kidnapped. I had a similar talk with him and he felt a little better. It took him a while to get better.
God, that detail about her spinal cord going into her brain is just brutal. I desperately hope that she wasn't able to feel anything and died quickly and painlessly. Becky's story after the trial is heartbreaking. SO often in these cases, a women (or man) goes through something horrific, but is able to not only survive, but actually overcome and thrive despite the horror. It's amazing when that happens. But I think it's also the exception. Sadly, when a person experiences something like Becky does, the experience destroys them forever. Or at least destroys a huge part of them that they never get back. We can always hope that the victim will fully recover and live a fulfilling life, but we have to remember that often times, that's not how the story ends. These people need immense amounts of support and for everyone around them to rally around them to try and keep them afloat. I hope Becky is finally at peace after her unimaginable ordeal. Her life essentially ended at 18. We also have to remember her parents. They lost 1 child, and then another, slowly.
The thing that infuriates me about this case every time I hear it is that these men should have never been out in the first place. They were known by police and they've committed multiple crimes and done just terrible acts on people but here they are walking and just being free living their lives. They should have never been out in the first place and if they weren't this wouldn't have happened. And I just feel so terrible for Becky because I don't even know if I could fathom the pain that she within and the guilt she probably felt for taking her sister with her that night. And I truly hope that both of them are at peace. I don't really believe in heaven and stuff like that but if it's real and I know that they are up there because that is what they deserve. And I hope that if hell is real that Ron and Jerry suffer immensely for the rest of days.

I've listened to every episode of this podcast, and after hearing it on Spotify, I had to come express how sad the ending to this woman's story is. You've covered other sick and twisted subject matter, but this hits different, because instead of this being a somewhat instant death/murder, she was slowly dying for 19 years mentally.

I tend to be skeptical of "habitual offender" laws, like in California and other states, where on your third felony you get a life sentence regardless of the seriousness of it. These two bastards have allowed me to have a better understanding of why they were imposed in the first place.
Third strike laws are usually designed to target monsters like this….but then they quickly devolve.

I was born on Sept 24, 1973. This one really affected me; not only for the 11 year old but also how it ended. What an awful story - those poor kids. I wonder if Wyoming actually following through with the planned 09/25/74 execution would have saved Becky in her later years? We'll never know.

This is a beautiful episode, you did a wonderful job educating your son and giving us the means to educate ourselves and our own children but also, shining a light on the pain and fear and mental health/drug use that can happen to a victim of SA.

As you were talking about Becky I could feel my stomach churning knowing this wasn't going to end the way I was hoping n praying it would. I think sometimes the trauma is just too much for the body n soul & it became all consuming. Every 5 years having to hold her breath in fear of these scum being released was just adding salt to the forever open wound. How Becky survived that first night show's her strength, determination & will that her daughter should be so proud of.

Your story telling skills are superb. They did killed her. I would be interested in sending letters to prevent dirt bags from getting parole. Is there a website or something where you can learn of the crimes and help keep them caged?

Don't recall the title but i read that book. I turned away from true crime books for quite a while. wasn't expecting that last chapter. Sad they weren't bonded out. think of skidmore mo.

Such a terrible shame. I don't know who got it worse, Amy or Becky. At least Amy didn't suffer for long. Becky suffered for years. I don't understand why people back then didn't seem to get professional help. Becky spent plenty of time getting help for her physical problems, but clearly neither her parents or her ever got her mental help. Of course I never met Becky, but I automatically know that anyone who survives a trauma like that can't come back from it on they're own.
I've gotten lots of help for my mental issues over the years. Lately I've struggled a lot, but most of the time it has helped a great deal. I'm so glad tiM encourages anyone to seek help at the end of each episode!

I know its hard to measure but channels like yours informs enough people that I believe its a part of the reduced percentage. Knowing is half the battle. Talk to you kids no matter how difficult it is.
