For about fifty years, ABC had owned-and-operated stations, all on Channel 7: WABC-TV New York KABC-TV Los Angeles WLS-TV Chicago KGO-TV San Francisco WXYZ-TV Detroit back then, the FCC limited TV station ownership to seven, only five of which could be on the VHF bands. Some companies did include two UHF stations in their portfolio to bring their fleet to the seven-station maximum, and CBS did have a UHF in Buffalo, though they gave up on it after a few years, donating it to a public TV station.
The digital channel was on UHF Ch. 52. It initially went to its analog-era VHF Ch. 7 but reverted to a different UHF channel. It was on UHF Ch. 44, but it is now on UHF Ch. 22.
Kinda sad that WLS would give it's analog such a lackluster sendoff. But then, from what I've seen on RUclips, it seems all the ABC7's around the country had done something similar.
I already know 6 ABC owned-and-operated stations that are on channel 7. The 6 ABC 7 areas I know are San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Detroit, and Sarasota. The designs of KGO and KABC ABC 7 logos are my favorite though.
that's not interference, that's the analogue shutdown. the analogue transmitter was powered off, meaning this tv no longer received an over the air signal
That's just how analog TV works. With analog, if you had a weak signal, you had a fuzzy image. With digital, you get a pixelated image with audio cutouts.
last commercial - Safe Auto's Justin Case
The interference could be from WSAW in Wausau, Wisconsin. That might also be what the signal is from, after the shutdown of the WLS analog signal.
We'll see you at 4 if you remembered to BUY THAT CONVERTER BOX!!!!!!!!!!
I get KABC 7 here. Most ABC owned-and-operated stations are on channel 7, I believe.

We had better reception with analog then we do with digital.

Sarasota is WWSB, channel 40, identifying itself by cable 7, much like WZVN-TV 26 does in Fort Myers...
im just an- dead analog
If you’re telling about AT&T what are you doing in Chicago
3:46 some kind of interference

I get ABC 7 where I live. I get KGO ABC 7.
3:45
I think the reason why the quality is kinda bad here is because the signal was getting weaker and weaker cuz it was shutting down
