He believed in that she would be fine that's what he hoped for her right after the accident and that's what he just wanted to believe but that wasn't the case but he stayed and did his best for 4 and 1/2 years and they both chose that it would be the best to move on since neither of them could really be 100% happy with eachother in the situation they were in.
