Fun fact, the stew from that game is relatively historically accurate. In the Middle Ages, inns would oftentimes have something called “Perpetual Stew”. Any time there were extra parts of a meal that would’ve otherwise gone unused, they’d put them in a stew pot and let it simmer and cook together for often days. These perpetual stews would always be different every single day, having a large variety of various grains, vegetables, and meats being put into them.

But in RDR2 Pearson cuts meats and vegetables and slowly process the meal and cooks carefully
KCDs stew is called perpetual stew which is exactly what it sounds like, it is made then its kept at a constant safe temperature. It can literally cook for years and still be good to eat. New ingredients are added to it over time so i guess it has an excuse because its probably been cooking for weeks to months before you even come across a pot in game.

The way I prepare it is to cut 2 ribeyes into chunks, mix them in flour, then sear them in the stew pot, add onions, caramelize them, then add the stock and sauce. Cook on medium high while stirring for a while, then medium low, stir somewhat and it’ll be ready when it’s 6pm
I like to put it on top of white rice in a bowl

KCDs stews are called perpetual stew. Which is exactly what it sounds like. It is made then kept at a constant simmer to keep bacteria from growing. As long as its kept simmering, it can be eaten and added to for literal years. Or until the pot itself breaks down or someone empties it.
