Happy Monday! I am doing pretty good on my “no more in 24”my stash is finally starting to diminish a little bit. I am trying to finish up projects that have been neglected and get them to their new owners, and projects that were SAL’s that need finished. Have a great week! 😊

Thank you for showing the basket, I had noticed a long time ago but wasn't going to bother you about it. I watch building projects all the time! I build projects around my home and yard all the time. My chicken house, closets in the house, garden boxes, a fence around my garden, a garden shed. When I lived at the lake many years I built a green house and a couple of out buildings and did home improvements. At 72 it is getting more difficult, my hands and wrist are getting weaker and my balance isn't so good. I can't go up and down ladders any more. I know my husband wished I was on a No Buy July! Maybe I can try next month.

I made it, basically. I did buy some white and black because I needed for existing projects that I want to get finished. I’m going for it in August as well, I have quilts, and tote bags to make and no need to be buying beautiful fabric that will sit cause I don’t have time lol!

I had a wonderful weekend.. I thought I was going to at least clean 1 more corner of my neglected studio, well I did a lot more than that, I was able to get all but 1 table cleared with everything in their rightful home now the only thing left is to finish last table and vacuum then I'm ready to get back into sewing, woohoo!
Oh!! I did open one of my machines and mended my jeans that had been there for a very long time!😂

I've really done well not buying anything for a couple + months but fell of that horse Saturday when Kimberbell had an offer for ITH quilting designs during her yearly Kimberbell Day, couldn't pass it up since it was a 1 day thing till next year.. the good part is the money I spent was close to zero, after her show I was able to download the free designs the bad part was I had to purchase a USB since I didn't have one readily available 😅

I have done that basket many times. I sometimes use Christmas fabrics and give a gift in them. The pattern I used was called the 1 hour basket. I did a quick search and the pattern is still out there.

For no buy July, I made it to July 27... I went to a quilt show and picked up some backing fabric and a couple of panels. Needed the backing but not the panels. Oh, well I tried,

NO, not the bazaar! Thank goodness they will be doing that during school hours and won't be able to watch it. Well, I can watch the first 6 days. I didn't try to do a no buy july but had to go to club day at Sew Yeah on Saturday to buy supplies for a class. I've never worked with waxed canvas so of course had to buy everything but the lining fabric which is coming from my stash.

Unfortunately Michigan was having a “Michigan Shop Hop” June through July! Lots of new fabric was acquired as I went to all 82 quilt shops that were participating in this year’s new tradition!

Well, I have to admit that I violated "no-buy July" at least five times! The Christmas in July releases and sales were just too tempting! Couldn't resist! Lots of fun projects planned! All is good.... 😊

I must confess that I lasted until Friday, 7/26 without buying fabric. My favorite quilt shop is about an hour away from me and they were having Rewards Week. I had $6 in rewards coming to me so I took a ride up there. Didn’t spend too much on fabric but also bought a couple of clothing patterns. It did feel good to not buy anything for most of the month though.

I'm doing great on the no buy. I do have to buy some velcro for a new project. Going to make port pillows for cancer patients. Have been house/animal sitting and got 6-8 tops finished. I'm ready for new projects.

Have a great day I broke down and bought a raffle bundle. My machine died on me 3 days ago 😢I’m in the middle of a quilt of valor quilt I need a machine it’s been a week here in Michigan my car also needed a transmission and berring in the front right hopefully this week will be better
Good Lord! That’s a lot at once! I almost bought a double ticketed bundle (layer cake and 1 yd), but I waited too long. Probably a good thing.
I know you are enjoying having your long arm machine. Maybe one day you can do commission work with it.
Well, that was not my intention because I just didn’t want the stress of it, but you never know! If I get comfortable enough I just might to some paid jobs.
