- Hey, everyone! This week I'm making a wig for Rhyllyn, continuing the slow process of getting him customized. The dye attempt for his feet didn't go very well last week, but his wig went a lot better, so that's encouraging! I think he's looking pretty adorable. I can't wait to get him all together. Since I'm still brainstorming on the feet/legs, I think I may work on designing an outfit for him next. If anyone is interested in seeing me put together concept sketches for his outfit in addition to seeing me sew it, be sure to let me know in the comments!

I never thought of cutting a slit in the cap to make the part more natural and less bulky! What a neat trick! Also soooo cool to see short hair styles. I also feel you on "child looses supplies all the time" I have two boys who are constantly into my stuff if I don't watch them, lol.
Haha, right? She doesn't really go into my workshop often, even though she's allowed to go in there and visit my dolls any time she wants. But there are a few things that seem to vanish no matter what I do... Looking for hair clips or a pair of scissors? Good luck!

I love the way the wig turned out. I especially love the little flip up in the front and your tips for making it stay that way. I have struggled with wig making but keep at this, this one looks great. I might need to try alpaca as a fiber.
I absolutely love alpaca, I think it's my favorite fiber to work with. It's just so easy to style, since you can treat it the same as human hair.

Okay I want to commend you so much for what you said about how you don’t believe in keeping trade secrets there are so many RUclipsrs out here that will keep amazing secrets and in order to even figure out what those secrets are they make you pay to be a part of their blog and you can’t know the secrets unless you pay a bunch of money for their blog and it makes me so happy late you don’t look at this as a money making thing you look at this as a passion and if you happen to make money while doing the passion so be it but it’s really a passion for you and that’s what I love because I’m the same way and I just wanna thank you for that because it really does mean a lot for there to be genuine people out there that actually really just do things because they love to do it not because they’re just getting paid to do it
Always wanted to dye my own fibers but am unsure as to what colors to mix to get the colors I want. I have used human hair dye but it doesn't give me the colors that they say they are. Love your wigs and techniques. Have used them on some of the wigs on my smaller porcelain dolls
I had the same problem with human dyes, plus they bleed color so easily in my humid climate... Part of the reason I switched to all fabric dyes. I have had great luck using Rit's dye mixing chart for natural fibers.
@@LomisPlayground My problem they don't do strawberry blonde. lol . That is the color I have been trying for. Humidity here in AB Canada is not a big issue ;)
It is good to see a short wig being made. have you ever tried rooting a wig? just wondering if it was possible.
I haven't, though I've seen people do it before! It seems like it would be really time intensive, so it's not something I've tackled yet... glue is so fast, it lets me put together a wig in an hour or two.
What adhesive do you use? Will school glue do?
Yes, I usually use school glue :D

It is just PVA glue ^^ I use Elmer's white school glue. Cheap stuff but works really well.
