@@USGOLFTVshow waoo Im still working on the fundamentals of the game like grip, posture, alignment , golf is hard so I want to keep simple as posible 😅😅 but does 3 thinks are key to me. I love to working on drills every day.
i've learned recently that the golf swing is very similar to a tennis backhand, i immediately gain 20-30 yards just closing up at the top of my backswing - perfectly flat wrist. just can't get the turn in sync to square up the face, great vid lots of help and reassurance!
I have been trying to use this new grip and seems very stable. I have sidebar questions: to improve, how many hours a week should I be practicing and how many times should I be playing on the golf course to improve? When I was in the U. S. Navy, I could play every day and shot in the mid-80s. A great Warrant Officer supervisor. I haven’t seen that number (80s) in many years but I am trying. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Good question and more importantly thank you for serving out great country. The key is to have structure to your practice sessions. A clearly defined plan...if we have that in place, 30 minutes of chipping, 30 minutes of putting and 30 minutes of full swing 2 times a week is all you need for practice time. Spend the rest of your allocated time for golf playing. Hope that helps 👊
Todd , I have been following you for few months now . I watching your explain grips and the Vertical Swing make sense .I feel that my total contact with the ball is now coming together . In November 2020 i just started hitting the golf ball . I was given set brand new set club [ retirement they were Wilson ] not fitted . With these club i hit okay . After learning the Vertical Swing . Now my question to you should i be fitted for new set irons ??
Norm, congrats on the retirement. Good for you! A good solid club fitting is worth the time and money. If you love the game and will spend time playing, get in for a fitting. 👊
Always make changes based on the flight of the ball. That is the ultimate test. If you are hitting it well, keep doing the same and go work on your short game. Good question!
Todd, I practice for hours chipping and chip like a pro at the range, but when I get to the course for some reason I fear the chip shot. I have tried methods of relaxing which I do, but have this built in fear that I am going to hit the ball to hard. I use turning the shoulders, locking the wrist but for some unknown reason I decelerate which causes all sorts of disasters. How do I just learn to swing the shoulders and club and let the ball fly where it will.??? When I do, occasionally have a round with very little chipping I score very well, when I have a lot of chipping, my score is embarrassing........Please help, thank you
Wayne, great question. You are not alone on this one. Try this, when you are making your practice motions start looking at the hole and keep looking at the hole during this time. Once you set up to hit the shot, keep most your time engaged with the hole, with short looks at the ball. Get the mind focused on where you want the ball to go vs focusing on the ball. Make sense?
@@USGOLFTVshow Todd, once again thank you, I will definitely try this, and hopefully like the other gems of advice you have given me, will work....thank you so much and all the best...
It's been wet a lot where I live but a lot of your lessons can be done indoors. Thanks, Todd.
You got it...more great content coming!
Love to watch your lessons. The vertical swing has really helped me regain some distance. the chipping lesson has helped a lot too!

Coach-I have your vertical swing program.Would any of these grip tips work with that method? Thanks for your help.
Good question, we suggest a neutral grip for the Vertical Line Swing System. Are you seeing progress in your game with the Vertical Line Swing?
@@USGOLFTVshow Ball striking is more consistent with all clubs.I'm using a strong lead hand grip.

Your grip is to weak and the takeaway is pitiful. Rotate your logo down? Really bad advice!!
