Thanks Todd, I hadn't realised the difference the lead arm direction had in relation to hitting the ball. Hitting the ball heavy has been ruining my game. Now feeling much more confident
As always Todd great video and instructions , I played Tuesday and I regressed I was hitting horrible drives , poor second shots topping , chunking and slicing and after rewatching this video I realized I was not setting up properly I was over swinging and not coming forward with my weight shift , glad I saw and rewatched this video
Hi Todd, I have to let you know that this video helped me tremendously. I was hitting behind the ball, and then I tried a more vertical swing, which was magic! My shots are more consistent, and I’ve even gained a club in distance! Thank you and keep up the great work.
Hey Todd I worked on the step drill for a solid hour today and it was magical, I can’t thank you enough, I’ve been struggling for quite awhile with compression and taking divots but this video is really helpful my friend! 👊🏼
Great video, would you be able to do a video covering the trail foot and what it needs to do at impact, when I think about getting the weight forward my trail foot comes up too early and causes early extension, when I hit shots concentrating on keeping the foot down till after impact I hit much more solid golf shots, thanks luke uk
Luke, this is a great idea...will add to the content list and tell Nick. Have you read our book, The Bad Lie. Here is the Amazon link if you would like to learn more www.badliegolfbook.com/
Omg Todd this might be a game changer. I do exactly what you showed.. more lower and inside and the result is exactly as your video. I've been told not to use your arms and hands just turn and re turn but that is bitterly inconsistent and can shoot 72 to 88 depending on the timing. Plus I was killing myself with a square right foot. I can see the flared right foot is gonna make a huge difference and more upright swing plane will get me in the game lol. Tyvm

Todd, some instructors teach to "Pre-Set the Forward Shaft Lean" with your Irons and others teach to have your Shaft Lean straight up and down at Address. QUESTION: What do your teach?? Thanks in advance. Keep up the great work. 😎⛹️♀️🚴♂️🤸♂️
Hey Todd, good stuff. I'd like to hear how you setup to hit the ball first then leave a divit. I was hoping this was going to be one of your points, maybe in another video would be great. I have always focused on just behind the ball but saw a simple tip on looking at just in front of the ball to improve my strike.
I have read the book. Trying to accomplish the vertical line swing. I am hitting two kinds of bad shots- some fat, more sever pulls. This helps the fat solution, but what to do about the leftward shots?
Todd, thanks for the great lesson today. When you put the ball in the position between the logo and the middle of your chest, where should your hands be? Forward of the club head and if so how much forward?
Great video. Here from little town of Hudson Wisconsin. Only on my 3rd year of golfing. I’m really struggling with how hard to swing the club! I’m 49 but still really athletic and played hockey forever. I feel like I’m trying to kill the ball and it suffers. But if I feel like I barely swing the club it goes. How much effort should I be trying to put into it, or do you just swing easy and let the club clunk into the ball? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

Great video, Todd. Steve from windy Oklahoma here. Big question for me. I have watched the video as closely and slowly as I can. Does your head move forward of the ball as you swing? Does your head stay back as the swing moves into impact? I can see the body moving forward. I just cannot seem to get or feel exactly where the head should at impact. Thanks for the help
Have had my inner ear removed due to a benign tumor. Have had my balance disrupted and my ball not centered anymore and is pushed back toward my right foot. Do you a drill that will help me when swinging the club and my center of gravity back in my stance.
In general we do like see a slight downward strike with the irons resulting in a divot. A couple ideas, make sure you are getting your weight forward on the finish and read this for more concepts www.badliegolfbook.com/
Good question, the key is to have weight/pressure on your lead foot while the head stays back. Here is a good video that may help www.badliegolfbook.com/
Todd, I have your book, I watch your videos. The one thing that needs to be mentioned that I find hitting behind the ball is not flexing your lead knee. If you make a good turn and shift weight but don’t flex your lead knee you hit down.
This man is the best I've seen delivering golf instruction.

Allan Patrick - Todd, can you please talk of preshot routine and focus?
Brilliant. Completely eliminated hitting behind the ball. It never occurred to me that hitting the ball fat could be due to a flat swing plane!
Watch you a lot from Okinawa Japan , as a Senior using a regular shaft 6:59 loosing distance so should I try senior shaft

Cobb, make sure the clubface is not closed on the takeaway. If the ball is hooking and low, odds are the face is closed.
I want to know how to putt

Todd, thanks for the great lesson today. When you put the ball in the position between the logo and the middle of your chest, where should your hands be? Forward of the club head and if so how much forward?
Good question, we like to see the hands equal or slightly in front of the ball.

The head moves slightly away from the target in the backswing (maybe 1 inch) and returns back to the address position at impact.

The key would be to move the ball back in your stance to match the center of balance. Hope that helps...
Solid pitching, please! Greetings from germany! ❤
Thank you! 😃 We are here to help. How is the golf this time of year in Germany?
I don’t take a divot. Is that bad or how do I correct it.
In general we do like see a slight downward strike with the irons resulting in a divot. A couple ideas, make sure you are getting your weight forward on the finish and read this for more concepts www.badliegolfbook.com/
Great advise, I played the other day and made solid contact all day.
We are making progress 👊
I take too deep of a divot on my mishits. It's like my arms are extending out too far at times.
I’d like to prevent skulling the ball from a few yards off the green.
How do we transfer our weight and stay behind the ball. I think players who hit off their right foot are trying g to stay behind the ball.
Good question, the key is to have weight/pressure on your lead foot while the head stays back. Here is a good video that may help www.badliegolfbook.com/

Chris, appreciate you adding to the conversation.
why do i always leave my approach shots short
Start with a little forward shaft lean at address, this will help.
When I take the club straight back I get over the top with my down swing.
