As an avid user of semi cured gel nail brands like ohora, zinipin, Danni Toni and jelice etc. Trust me I have tried them all. And truly love them. The biggest pet peeve I have is that most of the ads aren't accurate. Yes, the strips can be used as an extension. I do use the strips as an extension when I break a nail, but what these videos fail to tell you is that you need to apply builder gel on top of the strip to achieve that strength. Its not a one step and done. It irks me that they say you don't need remover. You definitely should use a good remover like uuuuu remover or you can even make your own. And let's be honest if you are doing this properly, it's going to take more than 10 minutes. With proper nail prep and removal of my old set, I generally take 1.5 hrs to complete a manicure. They last 2 to 3 weeks for me without lifting...almost all of the brands need to update both their branding and their instructions. It is misleading
I'm with you. They are great products if provided with proper instructions. Sadly, people who provide the proper instructions are users...not their brands. 😢
@@TheBusyJane no, they are basically like a thick strip of gel polish that you can slightly stretch to fit onto your nail perfectly, cure, and then file down to cover either your natural nail or an extension. These are polish, not hard gel.
I have lichen sclerosus and one of the side effects of that is really thin nails that peel and break when you look at them cross eyed . I look like I bite my nails and I promise I do not. My nails will grow if I keep gel on them. And I’ve gotten pretty proficient at it. I don’t go to the salons because I have to reapply my nails every several days. There’s no way it lasts the two weeks they promise. And I just can’t afford to go to the salon every three or four days. But I’m very interested in these as a covering for my nail. My nail will grow if I keep it covered with gel. And this might make my life easier if all I have to do is add a hardening topcoat to them. Thank you for this information.
@@tryingcake101 I wonder if you might have longer lasting results with something else? Like a silk wrap? Or maybe a couple coats of ridge filler on your natural nail after dehydrating that you then rough up for adhesion? I'm not familiar with lichen sclerosus, I'm thinking because you nails already peel, your gel lifts because the top layer starts peeling off underneath and the buffing necessary to make it stick exacerbates the problem. Hi Anastasia ❤️ your review of this product was great! The only thing I don't really get is, if they're advertised for people with gel allergy, but then they market an 'under cured' product? Surely that is not good? Some people who aren't nail techs might not know to wear gloves when touching a product that isn't fully cured. Maybe they work great for some people, but maybe they could be making their gel allergy worse by using these? I'm not convinced about these. Thankyou for your great content 🥰❤️
I’ve used them and even put a LED curing base coat and top coat. They still peel off in about a week. It does make them harder but what’s the point if you have a gel allergy? They do help protect your natural nail for a bit just like the wraps.
Great review thank you! Please, what exactly are you applying to your damaged nail at 9:30? "Base coat", but which one? It looks wonderful afterwards and I would like to buy that.
I tried them! I love them for my natural nails, but there are certain brands that I like better than others. I have a gel polish allergy so they’re great for me. I have yet to find a brand that has these as a nail extensions.

I love the Dashing Diva brand to overlay my natural nails! They last a long time! I use their “Gloss” stickers, which are wraps. They have “Glaze” stickers that are semi-cured gel but I have not tried those yet. Just like a lot of DIY beauty it’s a little trial and error to get it right! Love this content! Keep it up!☺️❤️
I’m a nail tech, and I’m pretty sure (like 99.9%) that these are supposed to be put on top of your nail or a nail extension. It’s a substitute for putting on nail polish, not for extending the nail. If the place you bought it from specifically said that, that’s a lie. These have existed for years, with a non-gel version too, and again, it’s a nail polish/art sheet, not a nail extension sheet, that doesn’t exist. It does work, if done correctly, but it works the way it’s supposed to work. It can only work as an “extension” when used with builder gel, but then the builder is the extension (like it normally is), not the sheet, lol.
@dancesmokesmile344 But these are promoted as a product that can be used directly on your own nail. And as suitable as an extension of your own nail. Basically the promise made is extension so hard you can peel potatoes with them.without any hassle. In no time that is .. This test is made based on directions of use that goes with the product. And durability tests are equal to those shown in the video. This is in my opinion very important. Because people who buy these products don't have the knowledge that professionals or experienced nail-at-home people like myself, have. The buy into what they see in the promotion video. Which is NOT what they actually get. Having said that. These products clearly works fine on top of you natural nail. And most likely also on top of gel extension. But they are worthless as extension. Which is most likely what the customers really are bying into.
Even if the company tells you that you need to use THEIR lamp for correct wattage.... just doesn't matter... If they are on top of nail, it'll work, if you extend beyond that... not gonna happen.
Great for an overlay. However wrong marketing 😅. I could use this right now myself as I’m working on repair on my nails and looking for a good overlay base to put gel or polygel over. It would be cool if you did a video using them as a base for hard gel or polygel or even acrylic application.
Hey thanks good to know! This might actually be really good for me, because I HATE getting polygel under my fingernails, maybe it can be used together to get a bit of a lip but definitely NOT for structure as we all suspected. Hmm... Thanks for your knowledge!
I've been using a combination of nail wraps and gel nail polish that has for the first time allowed me to grow my own nails. That's not NOTHING. It's a game changer. Never say nail wraps don't work or perform. They have a specific and useful function and I wouldn't have a mountain of them if they didn't!!
This produce looks like trash.. a lot of stuff on social media is 1.fake or extra edited to appeal to a particular audience. I saw how flemsy they were and knew it wasnt gonna be durable. But then for folks to tell a licensed nail they they are wrong about a product is beyond me. Thanks for your honest review 😊
Thank you for this video. I think you are right. I work in the food industry and we cannot have long nails, artificial nails, or painted nails. I love having my nails done but never do because of my job. These nails would not be good for nail extensions or long term but if you wanted a short term manicure (like in my case) they would work just fine. What was the brand you used for this video?
Guys I’m very familiar with semicured gel nail strips. The clear ones that you are reviewing are exactly the same as the jelcie ones you previewed previously. Like exactly the same! They are made by the same manufacturer called Huizi. It sucks that the company that you brought the clear ones from are choosing to mislead customers. It’s such a good product but the company is making it look like they aren’t effective. They are meant to replace gel polish not gel extensions. Therefore, if you want to PAINT your nails you can replace that process with semicured gel nails. If you want extensions then you need to apply extensions, builder gel…. Not this!
I saw a video where a lady used dual forms to keep the shape, then she added some builder gel to the underside of the free edge, for strength and rigidity. Even if they don't work for extensions, I think that with a base coat to prevent peeling, it would be suitable for a quick overlay. ❤
These nail stickers are game changers. I am 60 years old. I know, I'm old. I've never been able to grow. My fingernails. Nail tech just wasn't there. No matter what I did, no matter what kind of nail polish I used, no matter how many coats I did, I just was not a nail person. My hands were always elbow deep in chemical soapy water, and I was always very rough on my hands. Introducing, nail stickers. My nails are growing. They stay protected, and keep them out of the water, keep them moisturized. And they're growing. I don't need extensions or acrylics. These little gems get me where my nails need to be. And keep them that way. Yes you can gel polish over them. Yes, you can decorate them. Yes you can get them wet. They will last approximately 18 days.
You are so right dear Lady, I love this semi cured nail stickers too. We always have to know who made a video about... a nail tech never will say that they doing a good work on your nails... they want to use the salon things.
I was wondering about these and seen the advertisement about them and thought no way and was curious but not curious enough to get some of them but thanks because I no longer have to be curious anymore! 🙂❤️
I saw some ads of this products and at first thought that's great solution for me then realized it looks to good to be true. I'll keep using press-ons and maybe in future find salon.
Ok, how are you going to prevent water from getting in between the front tip of the natural nail and the nail you just put on? it doesn't seem to seal right in that spot.
I personally would not buy these for nail extension purposes. But as just a color overlay, they would be perfect. I don’t think it’s fair when people force advertise products.
I see this as being the same as when you make your own stickers out of gel polish? So you still need to prep, base & top coat to achieve the goal - which does help as most of the time I need a few layers of the colour coat anyway; which can be up to 3 coats and a bit of time
You can use it as extension of course, but you need to use the top gel to seal everything [top and bottom] it needs a little bit of tricks and time. I love it a lot since I'm not the best at controlling the color gel (also drills). 😅 Taking them off is quite easy with nail oil and patience.
What you said about your nails got me thinking that I've heard that's the case with a lot of professions, that a plumbers home needs plumbing work, recovery and mental health professionals don't use their own advice to clients with their families etc... ❤💅
Dashing Diva brand are great, but, as a cosmetologist who is also trained in nail extensions, and as someone who has tried the gel wraps, I would tell you you shouldn’t really have them longer than an eighth of an inch past your natural nail. They are not really durable enough to treat as actual nail extensions.
You are so right, I had used different semi cured nail gel stripes and the most of them are not bad... and I think one or two weeks are enough to have it on the nails... so I can do a new design.
Anastasia @nailcou where do you purchase your “spa uniform”? I am mostly mobile, not that it matters, but am getting busier and busier since getting my license last year and I’m tired of the dust in my clothes. I’m also pretty used to wearing a uniform and I’ve noticed you look comfortable and professional. Any direction appreciated.
I understand they are not advertised correctly, but I have fallen into the trap and bought them. Not applied yet as I am waiting for my lamp to arrive. I am such a messy nail polish painter so I wanted to try them. Has anyone tried putting a few layers of topcoat on top ? would that make them harder and last longer ? I didn't buy them because of allergy , just because of me being a useless painter on myself.
I'll say it for you Anastasia - this product looks terrible, and I would not waste my money on it. No haters please, this is my personal assessment. Thanks!
I think these would be great if you’re not a lover of having long nails, but you want to dress up for a wedding m a date, or a big event. I wouldn’t mind having to “bend them back into place” over having them fly off my finger because of whatever like press on nails do. I think with time, these will improve and be really good.
I’ve commented on a brand of these things on Instagram and the brand replied rudely telling me I didn’t know what I was talking about. To stop spreading lies etc they even swore at me 🤦🏻♀️all I said was to make a video where you tap the sides of the nail not the centre because they don’t work for me.
Maybe you have to cure it longer? I don't know, just throwing out ideas. I use full cover nail wraps with pre-stamped designs on them. However, they always go over an existing nail or extension, never just sticking out there by themselves. Also, some of the hard gel glue I use to put on fake nails has to be cured longer than normal gel stuff.
What did you use to wipe of the base coat i got my gel nails in and i also saw a video showing you wiping the base coat off after you use lamp so the nail form dont slide down just needing to know what to use lol
I didn't know softer extensions existed. Can I have a soft nail? I am extremely clumsy and I often hurt myself with even slightly long nails, my own! And they break easily and also hurt. I don't wear fake nails cause I'd poke my own eye out. Softer nails sound like a very good option!
They are hard enough on your natural nail, and your nail can grow. I did it for the same reason as you and I'm so happy with... and who needs long nails, it looks good on short nails too ... give it a try. It's so easy to apply and to remove with a good oil and a little bit of time... I change after 2 weeks
Yeah, just the fact that they say to remove them by *peeling them off" makes me 🙅♀️. Even if your nails are healthy to start with, they're not going to be after peeling any cured product off of them. Just screams "unscrupulous" to me.
These are made to peel off healthy nails without damage. If your nails tend to easily break or peel or are thin then peeling them off is going to cause issues and you should remove them another way
The companies are advertising it as both an overlay and extension. Vid creator is not the first one I’ve seen testing out the extension claims and showing that the company is lying
Actually those videos never show that they applied 2 layers of builder gel on the gel warp (1 layer on the top and 1 layer underneath the free edge of the nail)😊
It might be a rip off and the original product, there's many companies who steal the advertisement videos like this, use it as their own but the product quality is nowhere near it. Safiya Nygaard made a video where she would buy the same dress from different companies who all use the same video and photos as an advertisement and they well all bad except the original of course.
That's what they're actually for us color and a bit of protection. Beyond that you need to use builder gel or something to give strength and structure.
Again you didn’t use a clear gel top coat before curing so it actually hardens. The nail itself won’t get that hard but it’s meant to be a good base for a gel manicure
@@joanna0988 No they are not. As every add I've seen cuts them down to be an overlay over the natural nail if the official ad is watched the whole way through.
I think you got "scammed". Many compagnies are using 1 video by 1 brand to advertise on social media but the product they sold is not the one in the video. It is only similar, just enough similar for people to order it. Safiya Nygard did a very thorough video about this phenomenon... 😢
comment done before watching the entire video: i feel that these product are somewhat "wrong" because of physics, they're all the same thickness so you won't have an apex to distribute the forces on the nail correctly and risk to break your own nail on stress points
That’s right, that’s why they work well as an overlay on short nails, but they do not give any strength, so they will not work for long nails or extensions
@@Nailcou if at least they were hard enough once cured there could be hope in using them like a tip and build over that ^^' oh well, thanks for your service ma'am!

Interesting review. I'll be crossing those off my list! 😊
Thank you so much for the candid review.. much appreciated
Thank you for inspire me. I love this your nails design 🤩
❤ they may have cooked the poteto first 😅
Oh... I haven't thought of that cause I usually peel it before cooking 😆
Taking them off is quite easy with nail oil and patience.
What you said about your nails got me thinking that I've heard that's the case with a lot of professions, that a plumbers home needs plumbing work, recovery and mental health professionals don't use their own advice to clients with their families etc...
❤💅
I keep seeing these advertised if it’s on instagram it’s usually a scam 😢
Keep during what you’re during, some people just can’t throw away their money like other, thank you
I wonder if you could use a nail builder under these to make them more sturdy?
Wonder if they doubled the tips? If they put one on, cured, buffed and put another gel tip on???
Dashing Diva brand are great, but, as a cosmetologist who is also trained in nail extensions, and as someone who has tried the gel wraps, I would tell you you shouldn’t really have them longer than an eighth of an inch past your natural nail. They are not really durable enough to treat as actual nail extensions.
You are so right, I had used different semi cured nail gel stripes and the most of them are not bad... and I think one or two weeks are enough to have it on the nails... so I can do a new design.
Thank you for your honesty
Anastasia @nailcou where do you purchase your “spa uniform”? I am mostly mobile, not that it matters, but am getting busier and busier since getting my license last year and I’m tired of the dust in my clothes. I’m also pretty used to wearing a uniform and I’ve noticed you look comfortable and professional. Any direction appreciated.
I found they got hard with extra curing time. I used a peel off base coat tho so I don’t know if they last.
*No produce was harmed in the making of this video*
I knew it. I was curious about these. I didn't waste money, thank you.
I have cured them under a uv nail light and they are still soft. What am I doing wrong.
I'll say it for you Anastasia - this product looks terrible, and I would not waste my money on it. No haters please, this is my personal assessment. Thanks!
💯💯💯
It’s funny that you comment about your thumbs because mine are also big and I can rarely find a good fit 😂
They swore at you?? What did they say? I don’t believe any company would do that you straight 🧢
😮 that's not good
Nasty😢sometimes the truth hurts!!
Thanks for the info
Maybe you have to cure it longer? I don't know, just throwing out ideas. I use full cover nail wraps with pre-stamped designs on them. However, they always go over an existing nail or extension, never just sticking out there by themselves. Also, some of the hard gel glue I use to put on fake nails has to be cured longer than normal gel stuff.
What did you use to wipe of the base coat i got my gel nails in and i also saw a video showing you wiping the base coat off after you use lamp so the nail form dont slide down just needing to know what to use lol
Alcohol
Put a builder gel on top, and use a base coat.. it's an easy way to extend, it's easier than using nail forms or tips
I wonder if they put two layers on?
For "no mess color" they seem quite capable. Extensions in my area need to withstand relative abuse. These aren't it!
I love your top what brand is it? Can i get it in USA?
My press on nails from Temu are hard and they stay on thru housework and daily life! Under. $10.
How about the clear coat on top does it make it harder ?
There’s gotta be a way lol 😅
Yeah, just the fact that they say to remove them by *peeling them off" makes me 🙅♀️. Even if your nails are healthy to start with, they're not going to be after peeling any cured product off of them. Just screams "unscrupulous" to me.
I used them(different brand,Korean one), and peeled off very easily after 10 days! My nails are very healthy, there was only some glue residue :)
These are made to peel off healthy nails without damage. If your nails tend to easily break or peel or are thin then peeling them off is going to cause issues and you should remove them another way
I agree I think it’s just a bad product and it’s ok
It's not a bad product it's just not being used as intended. These are to be an overlay only.
@@crystald3655They're being advertised as an extension.
And you can take off with some alcohol, much easier than pushing with the wood stick dry
Thanks!
Can you apply it on Gel X Nails🤔
Yes, why not
Would you do a video on some of your favorite or recommendations for RUBBER BASE GELS for use with natural nails and extensions???
Thank you
I tried one time, but they fell off after one hour and they don't get hard in the lamp
Why dont you try the ohora gel nail tip that comes in the big box. If gel nail stickers and press on had a baby, that would be it.
It might be a rip off and the original product, there's many companies who steal the advertisement videos like this, use it as their own but the product quality is nowhere near it. Safiya Nygaard made a video where she would buy the same dress from different companies who all use the same video and photos as an advertisement and they well all bad except the original of course.
are you brazilian? thank you for the video, was always curious about it!
Russian.
For me I tried them but they never worked sadly so 0/10 experience cause all they did was stay the same
These honestly would look good if you have longer nails. You could trim it to your natural nail and have an instant colour manicure ❤
That's what they're actually for us color and a bit of protection. Beyond that you need to use builder gel or something to give strength and structure.
I know it! its a scam!
great video thx🥰💖
Maybe if you applied poly nail gel on them after curing?
Yes theses need structure added to them. Ideally underneath and a bit on top
This is a shame. I have BAD nail shape. They spin. This would have been helpful since i also shake because of a nuroloical disorder.
They're still great as a polish replacement.
I tried this and it didn’t get work either, it’s a scam as a nail extension but as an overlay in a pinch it works ok.
It clearly tells you to cut and file off the extra product .....
No. It clearly states on their homepage that you can use these for nail extensions....
Again you didn’t use a clear gel top coat before curing so it actually hardens. The nail itself won’t get that hard but it’s meant to be a good base for a gel manicure
EXACTLY!! I use clear or base color builder gel on top then top coat and it works very well
None of these kinds of products are intended to be extensions. They are only an overlay. Every single company will say that.
Well they're advertising them as extensions.
@@joanna0988 No they are not. As every add I've seen cuts them down to be an overlay over the natural nail if the official ad is watched the whole way through.
use olive oil to remove it with the orange stick
Maybe it could be used as a sort of nail guild. Put it on ad then form a nail over it.
I was wondering the same thing!
Wait! I think I figured it out!
It's a baked potato 🥔!! lol or at least softened potato and apple!
😂 good thinking
I think you got "scammed".
Many compagnies are using 1 video by 1 brand to advertise on social media but the product they sold is not the one in the video. It is only similar, just enough similar for people to order it.
Safiya Nygard did a very thorough video about this phenomenon... 😢
Im soooo glad I didnt waste $35 on this product today.
My natural nail is softer than those. Lol.
Same
Я посмотрела ваше видео на русском, а потом увидела, что есть такое же, но где вы говорите на английском. Вы - супер! Удачи!
I. Miss watching her and nails
Great video.
comment done before watching the entire video: i feel that these product are somewhat "wrong" because of physics, they're all the same thickness so you won't have an apex to distribute the forces on the nail correctly and risk to break your own nail on stress points
That’s right, that’s why they work well as an overlay on short nails, but they do not give any strength, so they will not work for long nails or extensions
@@Nailcou if at least they were hard enough once cured there could be hope in using them like a tip and build over that ^^' oh well, thanks for your service ma'am!
I definitely found the same unfortunate result. I even tried more of a brand name product. Disappointing.
