As an agency driver and having days when i'm not working/driving etc, after a shift of work I put the card on bed(rest), leave it to tick over 1 min and then eject it, then when next entering the card for the next shift I do a manual entry with rest at the start time, I'm guessing that's ok and would show only rest in between each shift? that's how I've always done it :)

@@thefodenproject its pretty simple all your records show is you took a 1min break at the end of your last shift and 1 min at the beging of your new one this leaves massive gaps between that u have no records for. I understand that most people would understand what your trying to show but transport documentation should never be left to interpretaition. The correct processe would be to do manual enteries to show any rest, work or driving since your last shift. If you do not like to do manual enteries on the tacho head the only other real way to document it in line with the regulations is on the back of analog tacho chart.
