    Hi, I purchased a Thor Rize 18M in November 2021. It is the same as your Scope. I have had more than a dozen deficiencies (internal water line leaks, roof leaks, a mix of other issues). I had contacted Thor and the RV dealer. While waiting weeks for a service appointment, I decided to investigate the issues myself. The more that I scrutinized the Rize, the more issues I discovered. Fortunately, I was able to correct most of the issues easily. My perspective is that more attention to detail during manufacturing would have prevented all of them. As I write this message, I am in Arizona with my Rize (from my home base in Orlando FL), and I am pleased with the Rize.

    The 18 M would be ideal for me, but after reading many reviews regarding the lack of quality, (confirmed by your feedback) there's no way I'll buy one. Thanks for being honest. I have to wonder if/when the manufacturers will get their acts together? Safe travels!

    Thank you for posting these videos! My husband and I have been shopping around and thought this van (the 18G) was the one for us. Hmmm. Now I'm a little hesitant. Would you still recommend the Thor product? We are brand new to the game--never owned a drivable RV before. Had an old Airstream briefly and discovered that a pull-behind is NOT for us. Need something small and nimble. We love the price point of the Scope... are you still happy with your purchase?

    • @TatesTravel
      @TatesTravel  Год назад +1

      Yes. I think we got one with a few issues and it was terrible process to get it fixed at the particular dealer, however I was on the phone with a lady from Thor every day and she was great, overnighted parts was eager to help, it was the dEALER determined to make the experience miserable. So to answer YES, I still like Thor products.

    Recently picked up a 2023 Winnebago Travato 59G. So far so good with two short trips and one big one this coming spring. If the repair was real minor, I'd probably do it myself instead of waiting so long.

    my Thor Tellaro has been a nightmare to own. In the year I've owned it I've counted 17 major defects that came from the factory, including the entire electrical system not working ( no lights/heat/cooking/ AC or DC, no fridge or TV either). It's been in the shop for over six months. Last week a factory technician flew out from Indiana to Seattle to try and fix it- he failed. I've hired a lawyer and we are filing a lawsuit this week.
    DO NOT BUY A THOR!!!!

    • @TatesTravel
      @TatesTravel  2 года назад +1

      Ouch. So sorry to hear this. This is baddddddd for sure. Hope it gets handled. I thought about driving up to Indiana myself. It has taken a year to get our van stuff fixed, we had a list just as long as you. Crazy. They need to practice quality and not quantity. I would wait longer to get one if I knew I could rely on the craftsmanship. Good luck to you!

      Are these class B subject to state lemon laws? That may be a cheaper route if you can get your State Attorney General involved.

      I'm sorry to hear what you've gone through. I was a cable man who installed wiring before I'm now an engineer. I can tell you that a rat's nest wiring is no way to troubleshoot other than pull them out and redo it. Unfortunately, Thor and less reputable RVs have similar chaotic wiring behind the walls.

    I was looking at a class b RV for the exact same reasons. I want to just go! Stop where I want to stop for however long I want to be there. Plus I’d be able to go through cities and beaches and park in any regular spot. You can’t do that with a typical RV. Plus who wants to tow when you can have the convenience of having something like this? I won’t deny this had me concerned being that we’d be a first time RV owner. 😮 I wondered if you knew what the difference between the Scope and Rize. They seem exactly the same. I was actually looking at the 18G model.

    Thanks for sharing this. The length of this van is great, very easy to park almost anywhere. How do you like the bed, is it fit good for 2 person (6ft and 5.5ft) ? I watched this video (ruclips.net/video/n8nh9TmRVtw/видео.html) and it seems like it's very hassle to set it up.
