Loved this. My mother believed everything that was in these Rags LOL. My claim to fame is I was featured in the Weekly World News about 20 years ago, I was the page two-story, right after the cover story of "Osama bin Laden's Vegas Adventure!" LOL. My story is I was a reporter named "Pat Wells" who was investigating a haunted bathroom in London and there's a huge photo of me sitting on the toilet being attacked by haunted toilet paper. I was called into the photo shoot at the last minute so I took a quick shower and forgot to put on underwear and when they did the photo shoot they had to Photoshop my balls out of the picture LOL Luckily I kept two copies.
That tabloid is in amazing shape for being 50 years old. I have comics that are half the age of that paper that are in much worse shape. Very clean white pages. Must've been stored in a cool, dry place.
My grandmother had a subscription to the Inquirer - or was it Enquirer? No matter, a fresh one would arrive every week; contents were the latest on Jackie and Ari and the soap opera stars of the day. There would be a list of prisoners to become pen pals with (yes, really), and those lovely back pages full of everything from soup to nuts! This video was like a little time trip, thanks Scott!
I love this tabloid. I have the July 30,1967 issue framed with Jayne Mansfield on the cover that has Jayne Mansfield killed herself. "Faster, faster, faster! She cried. It hangs on my bedroom wall.
I enjoyed that. Thanks Scott. Last year, I found a 1971 local newspaper (Lancashire Evening Post) under the fibreglass insulation in my Mum's attic. It was fascinating to read. The TV guide made me realise how much better TV was in those days.
I am 61 and remember a lot of what your talking about , the paper then was more truthful than what MSM reports on today, you passed up Barbie and Hugh. Keep up the great history Scott .
Could you save me a copy? I want to look into becoming an ordained minister 🤣 I love this video! I hope you can find out who that mystery man is lol. Thank you for sharing!
I finally got round to watching once upon a time in Hollywood it was probably one of tarrentino best . Everything you showed in your video was looked out for .enjoy your videos all the best from the UK 🇬🇧
Awesome I love reading nostalgia interesting to look back band see what was going on Maybe you'll find an interesting story or two and do a second video 😊 Thank you Scot
I've found and purchased several of these types of old magazines over the years. Mostly from thrift shops and yard sales. Usually only about a dollar or two. I have an old Life (I think) from the 1920s. Most are from the 60s and 70s. I love spending hours reading the adds.
Thanks for taking us on another trip down memory lane. I’m always checking to see if you have a new video out. I also love your podcast, will you be putting another one out soon? Love from Australia 😊
Scott is the master when it comes to owning and presenting archival material. God bless you, Scott, and don't forget about Karie Bible's birthday on Halloween. Hollywood Forever Cemetery rules!
Got a big chuckle seeing that ad with the Nekoosa address - small town not that far from where I live. Keep up the good work with these insights into our past - always interesting!
Scott Michaels, thank you for giving such a entertaining break from some crazy times. You are the dude and have been for a while. The best to you and your family.
Scott, I love your channel, and Find a Death website. I've been a fan of yours for awhile now. Hopefully someday I can come up to LA from San Diego and take one of your tours!! Just wanted you to know I appreciate your info and the way you give it to us. Sometimes we need to hear we are appreciated.
Claire Chennault was the leader of the Flying Tigers. I remember reading a book on him when I was a kid, before I knew that he had an odd name for a man. (He was Cajun.)
1969-ish to about the mid-70's my mom was terrified the Mason Family would kidnap my older sister. The family didn't seem to have an MO of kidnapping teenage girls (they didn't have to, according to family members), and most of the principal members were in jail by then anyway, but facts don't keep moms from having unreasonable fears. I guess these tabloids kept her and a lot of other folks all stirred up.
This is exactly 3 years before I was born but the day after my parents got married 1/10/70...lol. I missed their 3rd anniversary by an hour and 20 minutes.
Dude. .this would be an awesome regular feature. Old tabloids. Don’t go TOO old or nobody’s going to know who most of them are. Kind of how I feel when I read them now😂😂😂😂. This one’s really old.( I do remember all these names, I was about 9, I guess). Features from Maybe from the late 80’s, early 90’s?🤔. But some things never change, do they? Clickbait before clickbait.
Mystery man looks like Columbo! Peter Falk. Scott have you heard the terrible news about coke discontinuing TAB? I guess 2020 doesn't suck enough......

Hey Scott, great fun video.
Claire Chennault was the leader of the Flying Tigers. I remember reading a book on him when I was a kid, before I knew that he had an odd name for a man. (He was Cajun.)
This was great!
LOVE THIS!!
Sounds like the newspaper from the book/movie LA Confidential.
This was fun.

I wonder if those writers got a bonus every time they were able to work Jackie Kennedy Onassis into a story.
Mystery Man is PETER FALK , COLUMBO
3 weeks without a new vid. You ok scott
It’s been brought to my attention that one of Manson’s followers lives in my hometown in central NY. Pretty creepy.
I ❤💗 these
columbo peter falk was the identity of the man
That was my guess too!
Lol me too
The Tattler....
Wasn't that the rag Harris had in "Red Dragon"?
For 15 cents at the newsstand. Money well spent.
I wanted a sub to go in water with . Lol
what was Tony Perkins doing in downtown Los Angeles last night?[any guesses?]
Fun reading but boy have things changed (social media is a real killer).
mystery man Peter Falk
Scott have you seen the Doc Jay's nephew did called Jay Sebring....Cutting to the Truth
This is exactly 3 years before I was born but the day after my parents got married 1/10/70...lol. I missed their 3rd anniversary by an hour and 20 minutes.

Mystery Man looks like Rock Hudson.
The Tattler much like Enquirer or the News. Jackie was big topic in these up until after Ari passed
i wonder how long does this "newspaper" exist? or are they still exising? 🤭
That was peter falk. And how can I get that
This has the potential to be a spin off RUclips channel...I'd subscribe!
This is like Daily Mail, only i can t see naked, inflated butts.

Yeah, The Tattler was ok, but nothing could touch The Weekly World News.
