    I'm 61 yrs old and having trouble dealing with how my life is changing. Friends passing away, health declining, feeling useless and I can't imagine abuse on top of all that. That poor man. Elder, child any age, abusive people should be sent to prison.

      @evelynharber6077 4 года назад +3

      @@lakeerie5857 The term "whore" is actually incorrect! A "whore is generally a female who gives her favours to any male. Now as Mr. Rooney isn't female then that negates him as a "whore "BUT his cheating behaviour makes him a "low-life" in my book anyway! His behaviour, unfortunately, is very common in Hollywood, well maybe the world over, and doesn't excuse him of anything. What happened to him in his "Golden Years" doesn't excuse his eighth wife and her son and if anything just shows that a "gold-digger" can sometimes succeed!

      Abuse is NEVER acceptable!!!! Sounds like you are confused, 'Old school movie stars' were JUST as scandalous as today's actors, if not MORE so. Yesterday's celebrities had studio's cleaning up their mess unlike today. Actors can't hide much now due to the evolution of technology, nonconscious media, and sell outs of family members for$. Having class in Hollywood was an ILLUSION that was bought, not inate.

    •  4 года назад +7

      unfortunately, child abuse can lead to elder abuse. children who were abused are bitter and hurt, and they can do it to the elders who abused them. I know from my own sad experience. it began with abuse that was going on with me when I was a child, and never really ended. there is also a lot of mental abuse in some homes. and verbal abuse. and of course physical. I had all three. Wonderful!!!!!!! People are abusive animals. They seem to enjoy it. Turn to God and bible. Counselors can't forgive sins but they try. People need help in these areas. As for those who abuse elders but were not abused as children, I have no idea. I was raised around many older people and I loved them all and would never think of anyone abusing them. I can only speak from my own experience. Pain doesn't go away easily. just muddle through. Finally bible teaches children should respect their parents, and parents should not abuse their children.

Also many people may not be familiar with the British movies from mid 30’s to the mid 50’s there are some excellent choices. Mickey was a MGM star as well as Judy Garland . A true legend and no one gave him the time of day. I think it was mainly because Mr Rooney was old school and Hollywood and the media are so liberal and socialist driven they purposely ignored Mr Rooney.

    I have several misgivings with this story. Firstly, I'll preface with this - without question, I believe sadly, Mr. Rooney was abused by the wicked wife. And, of course I know who Mickey Rooney is, what he meant to film through the years, and I know some things of his personal life, e.g., many marriages, many children, and his close friendships with, Elizabeth Taylor and Judy Garland.
    With that said however, I would have to ask Ms. Rooney, why she and her siblings, allowed the wife to keep them from their father. NOTHING would keep me from my Father or Mother, particularly if I suspected something was amiss.
    Also, in her childhood tellings, she recanted memories of her Mother's horrific and untimely death, having been shot and killed within the home of which Ms. Rooney lived, and was sleeping the night her Mother died. Yet, two gun shots ringing out did not wake she or her siblings. When asked by the interviewer, if she was home, she stumbled, and answered reluctantly and redirected without segway. This, I found to be a little suspect. In addition, she heard the maid scream, but insisted that it was quite a lengthy amount of time before she discovered her Mom was deceased. So distored in many regards.
    This too raised one of my eyebrows - She was unable to say exactly how many stars her Father has on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. When your parent is a legend of this magnitude, ya oughtta know his rewards, awards, and even general nods from fans and his peers in the industry. When your Dad is Mickey Rooney, scrapbooks are kept, and if one was too young to recall details, life is researched, therefore making yourself a part of his legacy in terms of the knowledge one would seek, simply out of being proud of what he/she accomplished. This screams to me that there were some serious issues that are not being shared.
    There are so many stalls and holes that are just as intriguing as the story itself.

    okay - I am TOTALLY against ANY abuse albeit elderly, wife, physical, mental, emotional, etc. BUT, Mickey took up with his SON's girlfriend. (that should have provided some insight). They were married for 37 years!!! You cannot tell me that he had not seen this woman's 'nasty' side before he became too old to do anything about it. And, in 2011, when they were separated where was this daughter???? Why didn't she step in then and 'take care of her dad'??????????????? Why didn't Mickey speak up and say he wanted his daughter(s) to take care of him if they were so close???????

    At one time Mickey Rooney was the toast of Hollywood. It's terrible what happened to him. He was thought very highly of by my Father. He was a big part of Hollywood's golden age. It seems to me that he was taken advantage of by people who bullied him when he got older. He was obviously small in stature and if anything, he was frustrated by what was happening to him. If he had an inclination toward anger, it would be my guess that he had a good reason.

    This was so sad but whether you are famous or not,if it was my dad I would have dragged him out of that house ! They could have done more I don't care what they say. If you and your siblings saw or heard what was going on you would want the world to know about it. Nothing would have stopped short of being shot. This is just so terribly sad for one of America's greatest actors to end up like that. I hope he has found peace.

      I will never understand how anyone could be so cruel to someone especially to an elderly person.

    I grew up in England loving Mickey and his movies. The all American boy/man.An incredible actor and a true legend. Always would have loved to meet him. This is heartbreaking, poor guy. One of my favorite movies of his is ''Quicksand.''My heart goes out to his family. RIP Mickey.
