    I accidentally got Topps Sterling confused with Bowman Sterling at the end. Topps Sterling is a great set. I would move it to B or B+ if I were to re-due the video and it is a very hit heavy product with a focus on only two cards per box. Sorry for that!

      5:20 I think you meant 2020 topps stadium club Chrome for the soto shuffle card. unless there is one in 2021 I'm not aware of.

    Stadium Club Chrome is the one hobby box I am willing to buy and open consistently the photography sets it apart and the lower print runs makes for reasonable value retention.

    I disagree on the gap between stadium club and stadium club chrome. I get the appeal of wanting those cards as chrome but the glossy stock of regular stadium club elevates the photography in my opinion

    This was a very thorough analysis. A few comments....I did not realize that Topps produced this many sets; they could honestly get rid of 20 or so sets to make collecting the others more managable. Alos, I would think that some of the players are getting bothered with signing so mnay autographs for so many sets, espeically the retired players. If they chose maybe 15 sets to put the autos in, this would enhance the fun of getting autos....Great job on going through all of these Scottie, and thanks for the great content.

    Personally, anything after 1999 became a money grab. I used to put sets together whether it be Topps, Bowman, UD, Fleer or Donruss. Once the clock ticked 2000, suddenly sets were almost impossible to put together because of SP auto RC's that were considered part of the set. I tried eeking it out, but by '02 there was no chance for set completion unless you had hundreds or thousands of dollars to throw in.

    Disagree on the Opening Day rating. You can put a simple master set together in a couple cheap hobby boxes and possibly pull one of the various SP inserts that are really supremely underrated (like Dugout Peeks, of which there are likely no more than 100 copies per card). There are so many quirky SP inserts in this product, it mirrors mid-to-late 90s style of product with either common inserts or SSP stuff with barely any parallels (one common parallel and one 1/1).
    The drawbacks are that it is so cheaply produced and printed (no foil and printing issues are more common)

      This is a good channel to subscribe to. Always well thought out. Hobby changes fast. Few years ago you could buy a box and make quick money. That mostly has dropped as the box price quickly went up. People pay outrageous prices for prospects then the prices drop once the hype dies.

    I get so sick of people complaining about "too many 1/1s".... You would much rather have one of those than any other card, don't be ridiculous! And it's funny how with certain sets, having a lot of them is a good thing and then with certain sets, having a lot of them is a bad thing... So which is it??

    Don't forget about all the other "X" products that also came out, like Topps X Micky Mantle Collection, Topps Allen & Ginter X, Topps X Derek Jeter Captain's Crew and so forth... Lol so many.
    Nice reviews, but clearly way, _waaaay_ too much product to have come out. And that's not even counting the 'Living' sets like Topps Living and Topps Project 70. If both Topps and Panini can limit their products to no more than maybe twelve different products a year per sport that would be truly great. But unfortunately I can't see that ever happening with the way things are currently going.

  • @chrisc4264
    @chrisc4264 2 года назад

    Just proves way too many sets overall. I'd say the two main staples to me are still Bowman and Topps Chrome. I won't spend high dollar on prospects however so blasters are still the way to go because they provide value. The Tatis news unfortunately hurts the 2019 product but still have Austin Riley having an MVP type year overall.

    I love Brooklyn collection for all the reasons mentioned. The only other theme from this that I disagreed with was sticker autos. If the predominant auto is a sticker, I think the ceiling is B+ (with Triple Threads probably being the sole one there). It was really interesting to see all the products out there though. Great job rolling through that.

    Jesus christ, are they really trying to pump out even MORE versions of Topps Chrome? Every time they print a different version... Sapphire, Platinum, Ben Baller, whatever crazyness he said...galaxy?.. it knocks down the value of the base Topps Chrome for everything except the most high end cards out of that product.
    I don't understand how the people who buy all these non-retail releases aren't rallying together and boycotting this nonsense. I just dont get supporting this...
    You really think Topps Chrome rookie autos are the premier auto card? It seems to me like any rookie post 2017 it's all about the 1st Bowman Chrome auto. Genuine question, as I'm not deep into the baseball market, but I have followed it for years.
    Thanks for the content!
