As Drukhari raiders plague an Imperial planet, the embattled Astra Militarum send out a desperate cry for help. Salvation arrives in the form of a force of Space Marines. Will the Wish come true?
Warhammer 40,000 takes place in the grim darkness of the far future, in which humanity fights spectacular battles across the galaxy to defend its place among the stars. Arrayed against the might of mankind are the many different alien races and the malignant forces of Chaos.

At least hes actually setting up shop there and defending it rather than burning it to the ground and taking whatever he can find.

I love how the Drukarii Achon's reaction to learning about the Iron Warrior's arrival. You can tell that he knows how much danger he is now in. But he keeps his poise, using that knowledge to try an make the guardsman despair, knowing that no rescue comes for them. But the guardsman doesn't rise to the bait, and is instead content to have the Iron Warriors kill both of them. When that happens, the Achon's poise is completely lost, and his anger, and no doubt a small bit of fear, is on full display.
They keep forgetting some imperials dont fear death

I mean, he doesnt need to fear much if he gave a Haemonculi a finger or something.
Though concidering their reputation hes got a lot to fear either way.
@@kubikkuratko188 The Achon lost a *lot* of his raiders to the iron warriors by that point. The Haemonculi can bring back dead drukarii, but you need to be wealthy in order to gain their services, be it in material goods or influence. The Achon might have underestimated the Iron Warriors to a degree, but not to the point that their arrival wouldn't effect the reward of his raid. Simply by being there, the Iron Warriors have already cost him net value, as he has to replace what he lost.
However, when the Guardsman brings up that he'd rather die by their hands then live as the drukarii's slave, that's where the fear kicks in. Not so much himself, as obviously he would attempt to flee right then and there if he was that afraid, but for the Iron Warriors taking his prized spoils and ruining them by giving them an escape in death. The guardsmen know the Iron Warriors are on their way, and that they can still reach them before the Drukarii retreat where the traitor astartes can't follow. That hope that the Iron Warriors will kill them all before they are taken is lessening the sweet dispair the Achon hopes to harvest. The Iron Warriors have not only increased the cost of this mission, but also made the rewards less valuable already.
And then, of course, there is the chance that the Iron Warriors *do* kill the Achon. He thinks it unlikely, of course. But he's not foolish enough to say it's impossible. But if that happens, even if he has a Haemonculi willing to revive him...he would have a massive debt to pay, and little to no reward from the raid to cover the cost. Unless he has a host of wealth or influence saved up back in Commeragh, He will be potentially destitute...and might even be unable to afford another revival service from the Haemonculi. This failure might make his next death final...
...if this isn't already his final death.

I am a loyalist, however, my two favorite traitor legions are the Iron Warriors and Thousand Sons. The Iron Warriors are just so great and this animation is a perfect depiction their ruthless efficiency. Thanks for sharing!

I've loved the Iron Warriors ever since I found out about 40k. I'm pretty sure they would've remained loyal, had they been treated fairly. But they were always cast aside. Even iron bends when misused.

I really wish there were more 40k stories that just involve the evil factions (well most evil) duking it out with each other. Chaos vs Chaos vs Orks vs Dark Eldar vs. Necron vs Tyranids. Just feels a lot more fun when you don't feel bad for either side and can just sit back and enjoy the fighting. Would fucking love some traitor primarch vs traitor primarch action.
Orks vs chaos have some stories, chaos vs nids have like 1 good one I know of with death guard and tau vs nids and orks is common along with a few about them vs chaos but some don’t consider them as “bad guys”

I remember one novel with a Chaos Chapter fighting Necrons.
But they are few.

The imperium isn't great to root for either... maybe the average foot soldier can be pitied but I'd say the Imperium as a whole is about middle of the 'evil' sliding scale. Not quite Chaos/DE/Ork but more evil than Tau/Nids (they're just animals bro they eat shit it's what they do)
But I agree heavily with the comment. Battles/wars involving parties other than the imperium would be so cool to see

Love how twisted the drukhari leader is, its beyond sadism and taking a bolter to the head is favourable to the fate that awaited them if they were taken back with the drukahri
Drukhari may be the worst by just how prolonged the suffering is. Even by Slaanesh, you'd expire eventually, but Drukhari specifically try to keep you alive and suffering as long as possible, while a Slaaneshi cultist will probably just discard you like a used condom.
Gotta admit, it really shows how heavy they are when they’re brought down. It’s like miniature buildings being knocked over.

The Dark Eldar take the humans apart as if for fun in the beginning. Yes, they lose to the Iron Warriors, but they are taken by surprise without proper preparation against this new enemy. If Dark Eldar don't fight on their own terms, their fragility becomes their end. They are a glass canon
This animation makes Dark Eldar seem super derpy and incompetent.
The Iron Warriors killing with calm, ruthless efficiency is how I imagined space marines in combat.
That Archon got the Witch King of Angmar treatment at the end.

The battles need some serious work, but I do love the fact that the Drukhari are finally getting some much needed lovin'. The VA for the archon here did a great job expressing the raw contempt they have for, well, just about anybody. Not so much for the Iron Warriors, sadly.

@@OneBiasedOpinion The fact that they are even in a show is amazing, that's the 'lovin'' part I was referring to. Like I said, the fighting was terribly 'meh'. It's typical Warhammer+ content, but it's a step in the right direction, I guess. Not Astartes or Sodaz, but at least they're actually on screen.

Im a Loyalist, but i was really happy to see a Mandrake featured in this, even if its death was a bit silly and throw away, compared to its lore. But eh, i guess Xenos players and enjoyers are used to that treatment lol

@@fraizwrite80 he did kill several iron warriors single handledly and then tried to to leave when he saw he was outnumbered, which is when he was stabbed in the foot by the guardswoman

I love seeing how effortlessly the marines just slay when he stabbed the dark Eldar sneaking up on him so effortlessly awesome
Veterans of thousands of battles, usually only killed by an overwhelming foe, or arrogance
I suspect I'm asking too much, but if they have added a POV scene from another squadmember's autosenses picking up the Mandrake before it being stabbed by the other without looking, it would have done more justice for both Iron Warrior AND Mandrake
Biggest problem with the video is that the combat animations looks stiff and awkward.
Instead of the fast moving pace of real combat, the looks more like training they are going through it with slow motion.
If this was a free fan made video on the internet i wouldn´t complain the least.

But this is featured on a site they claim a monthly subscription for, a little higher quality from a multi billion $ company wouldn´t be amiss.

Some of those said original creators were directly involved in the Chapter house lawsuit, so you claiming they didn't want a monopoly on their own IP is laughably and demonstrably false.

The animation is good, it could be so much more.
That no look gut stab to the mandrake had to be an homage to the "Astartes" Animation hallway fight scene.
With the music playing against the 2 bosses, I got MAJOR mortal combat 2 vibes. Someone could have yelled Finish him, and it would have totally fit.

I love how that imperial guard officer was willing to stay defiant for the drukhari archon but then caved as soon as the iron warrior terminator told him to kneel. Surely if you can stay defiant even when captured by the drukhari then you should be able to stay defiant in front of the iron warriors, no?

It makes sense, he's conditioned to hate the disgusting xenos, whilst looking to Space Marines as His Angels...at this point he had had everything riding on the marines rocking up and saving the day, only to have that crushed. He's broken and confused whilst stood before a being of myth and legend.

Also, IW may try to make the planet a daemonic world by thinning the veil between Materium and Warp, and guess what, a lot of human sacrifices is needed for that - and their deaths would be neither easy, nor quick.

These animations are starting to show some competency. Sadly, they’re still a far cry from the bar set by Astartes. Somehow this felt very slow-motion and staged, lacking all of the insane speed and energy I was expecting from a clash with such mighty warriors of the 40k setting.

@@mattfufu385 They were up against an unexpected enemy without the option of choosing their battlefield and strategy. Leave a squad of Dark Eldar out in the open with 20 astartes bearing down on them and they will be obliterated as well unless you have the worlds most loaded dice.

If I remember correctly the planet gave the iron warriors recrutes when they were still loyal and they came to reclaim the planet

I thought Mandrakes were harder to deal with than that. I love Chaos Astartes but usually in the books (even if they're the main characters) Eldar kick their asses around as do most of the 'Good guys'.
idk, in gaunts books, a basic guardsman MKoll managed to sneak better than one and oneshot kill it with a lasgun

I never appreciated Space Marines on Tabletop, but on animations like these. WOW!
I love how both sides got to shine in this. If only Iron Warriors could use the breacher squad in 40k. The Chaos Marines have skewed toward the mutation side quite a bit. I always did like the no nonsense approach of the Iron Warriors. Maybe they'll get more unique representation when the Dark Mechanicum shows up along with more of Vashtorr. I feel like Vashtorr and Perty would get along pretty well.
Me too, and as a black legion player the excessive mutations and spikey bits kinda annoys me. If I were to do iron warriors I’d definitely do almost exclusively Mk3 heresy marines as my battle line (as a Dorn enthusiast the thought pains me) and it pisses me off to no end that there isn’t a proper chaos castaferrum and we’re stuck with the ugly ass helbrutes that barely even fill the role of dreadnought.
Really makes me miss the fan animations, though did like the supreme arrogance the Archon's VA gave him.

Thats what you get when you buy cheap vat-grown Half-born, the only trueborn Drukhari there was probably the Archon hence why he did so well, that and the Power Sword.
It was kinda scary how the Legionnare just pulled the knife out of his face like it's a minor inconvenience. That's what you'd expect from Death Guard.
That awful camera shake makes the animations seem even more clunky because the shake doesn't match what is happening. Camera shake is good at conveying a frantic fight between two desperate combatants but Iron Warriors are ultra disciplined and Dark Eldar are gracious and fluid when they fight. I mean the scene is serviceable and the models look great but there was so much potential there.
I haven't seen the show and I'm not going to sub to Warhammer+ based on what I've just seen. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a show on there that a bit more visually impressive than this? :)

I just discovered the Iron Warriors, and Warhammer 40 k's universe in general. If I may say this, the iron warriors' efficiency reminds me of that of ancient Romans. Marching and attacking with criteria and military preparation; hell yeah. Ferrum INVICTUS Est
The imagery looks pretty, but it's really hard to follow action when EVERY shot is a shaky medium close-up. I had no idea where the characters were in relation to each other and how they were moving around the room. Who is shooting at who? Seems like they tried to hide poor choreography with Bourne Identity shakyness.
In the end though , the drukarii failed slaneesh , and more than likely he would be the one suffering for eternity.
I hope if Iron Warriors ever get a refresh, they're like the ones in this animation. Says a lot when they didn't just recolor Black Legionnaires for the animation.

I absolutely love how they show the superhuman durability of a space marine, especially the supernatural resilience of a chaos space marine.They can shurg off wounds that would friggin incapacitate or straight up kill a normie baseline human.
