The Vickers Tactical Carry Trigger (Flat Face Trigger by Tango Down) for the Gen 5 Glock is an amazing affordable upgrade. While the packaging expressly states that you should probably have a certified Glock armorer install the trigger, it is really pretty simple.
To install the trigger yourself, you will need a small punch and a hammer of some sort at minimum. Add a little patience and mechanical ability and you're golden.

You can also get the tango down full trigger/trigger bar assembly so you don't have to just work with the trigger portion. The easily drop in assembly is much easier!
Simple , straightforward very helpful video. Thank you
Thank you for the video. Successful mission in about 10 minutes. Night and day difference in the feel of the actual trigger. I also changed the slide release during this process.
That is awesome Keith, I'm glad to hear it helped out!
I got to that point of no return and thought, "Uh oh. Do I have to do what I think I have to do?" Thanks. Good job.
I just bought this Trigger, thank you for this video.
Thanks for the heads up on this trigger. I purchased three of them and replaced all in under 15 minutes.
That is awesome Timothy, nice work!
It’s been 10 months. How are you liking the triggers?
Thanks for the video, brother! I put this flat face trigger in my 19x on my computer desk.
I installed this trigger assembly on my G43. Love it!!
Glad this video still up. Now I can do this job myself. Thanks.
I've been using this on my g19 I carry for about 4 months now great trigger
I have one in a Gen 3 and then this one too. I've been liking it.
@@KitBadger I use it on my gen 3 I shoot alot and I actually like it more then alot of the very costly drop in triggers
Ya, I think they are going to crush the market with all the $100+ "special" triggers out there.
Love the vid man! Life saver!!!
Inspired by The A-Team; BA's van and the Team's ability to complete complex metal shop projects in under an hours, I have had dreams of "The Possible Van,' a complete machine shop in a van, that makes any thing possible.
My friend Mark, back when had had an "OJ Special," had a mini study in the back, with reading lamp and bookcase.
That would be awesome!
The undisclosed location in the backwoods of Idaho is a sweet touch
Thank you!
Great instructions, thanks.
Just installed mine, great video!
Awesome!
Nice trigger super easy install.
Great video, kitbadger! Just my humble suggestion for an additional step in the trigger check (I'm not sure about if this is even necessary but I feel its good): After pulling the trigger (making sure it clicks), hold the trigger and rack the slide, making sure depressed trigger doesn't reset itself before releasing the trigger.
If it does, you might be in luck for an automatic pistol or a light primer strike. HAHA
You are very right on that. I thought about that after that fact, but I was more focused on just showing people that the "safety" was working the way it should on the trigger. Next time... :)
I have to tell you I really like the Gen 5 trigger after a 1000 round breakin. The only thing I don't like is the stock trigger shoe. My department won't let me carry off duty anything that has been internally modified. I hope this might be a gray area. Just the shoe though. Hope you're doing well buddy and hit me up if you're around for the holidays and want to shoot.
Thanks for the clear instructions. Much appreciated
Another great video. Always a pleasure to watch your vids.
Stay safe.
Thanks buddy, I appreciate it!
That mobile gunsmith station is freakin cool
Thanks Drew.
@@KitBadger have you had any issues with that trigger shoe? I've seen review of people saying it gets caught up in the frame when pulling or resetting the trigfer
@@JohnBlaze505 no, not in my experience.
Thanks, but you're About Two Weeks Late instructional video, Ivan. :)
I did this as well and run a nearly identical setup on the G26. In replacing my OEM trigger shoe - having never done it before - I became increasingly worried that I'd be destroying the stock trigger and trigger bar. Also, despite having many tools, I somehow didn't have an armorer's block around and was determined to 'rough it' with what I had so that I could get some practice in at the range.
If you find yourself in a similar spot: just place a 2x4 on a solid surface and use your punch (or a nail) to gently chisel out the opening you'll need to catch the pin into the wood; after you've tapped the OEM pin out, just place the new shoe onto the flat surface of your 2x4 to hammer the new trigger shoe pin into place on the bar (keep in mind, the pin is directional).
It's surprising how little information there is on RUclips regarding changing the trigger shoe on a Glock. Most of the information is for simple 'drop-in' procedures. It was extremely frustrating, because just looking at the OEM trigger, you would never assume that you're meant to push through the polymer. I had to track down some unknown guy's barely-viewed video to find that information. And on the Gen 5 models, the assembly doesn't seem to 'click' like it does on older Glocks (another concern I had when reassembling).
It's funny that RUclips has been trying to ban "instructional" gun videos; but at this point, RUclips is our collective 'Public Library' for the DIY community at-large. In their attempt to keep or limit safe instructions, they will inadvertently cause potential damages or possibly even negligent discharges.
So, after at least an hour of trying to find the proper video (using bizarre wording to trick RUclips into showing me what I actually needed to find) to assure me - "yes, you actually pound through the polymer" - I winged it to save on having a gun store "Certified Glock Armorer" emasculate me for an extra $80-100. Thankfully, everything worked out, the world didn't end, and - aside from the sharp point on the tip of the blade safety (which I've sanded down a little bit) - I've been quite happy with the performance of the part. I'll never understand why Glock chose to have that ridged blade safety stick out in the center of the trigger. It's so uncomfortable.
Vickers-branded stuff gets a lot of shit from some parts of the 2A community (perhaps some of it justified, given how 'serious' Uncle Larry can get?), but I'm a believer when it comes to their Glock parts. They're doing stuff that Glock should be shipping from the factory, frankly; especially considering how slippery the Gen 5 coating is -- those cocking ears (taken from the VP9) are a must-have, in my opinion. What were they thinking with that coating? Mine chipped off where the barrel locks after the first 25-50 rounds!
My ideal Glock is a P80 Gen 5 G19 ergonomic frame with the Vickers parts that Tango Down produces to aide in usability. "Compatibility" is nice with Glocks - even as we stray from that with Gen 5 internals, at least mags still mostly work - but I really wish they'd make a change to the ergonomics of that awful triggerguard.
Sorry for the novel -- I hope that my tale helps anybody else out there gunsmithing on a budget. Just do your research, don't be a dipshit, and have confidence in your abilities to solve problems (and be prepared to accept responsibility and pay for your mistakes in the event that you overestimated your self-worth and destroyed your gun). :P

That Jon, was a lot of reading. Glad you got it sorted out though. RUclips has done a disservice to the community by trying to take down informative videos... Oh well.
Armorers block = roll of masking tape
Glock Armorer = worked on a few glocks
@@whatisclandestine2253 haha, pretty much.
I put one on my first polymer 80 build,I took my time had all my holes drilled dead on,The holes on the locking blocks are wrong and my beautiful slide will not go on,But my flat face vickers works,If my ar's let me down I guess I'll throw my lower with the vickers at the assailant's !
Just a soft block of wood works well to drive against.
Awsome videos man! Big fan from oregon!
Thanks man! I appreciate you watching. :)
Awesome! THANKS!
No problem, glad to help Roger.
Very good video!!
The slide makes a way cooler hammer...😎
Hahaha, next time. :)
Any video with Rancid: Instant thumbs up.
I like your style Austin. :)
Ive been listen to Bay Area punk/FatWreckCords stuff since I was 14, and Im 38 now. Im never growing up. Lol
I'm right there with you!
Nice insall tutorial!
Love it man! Simple down to earth straight forward video without all the tactical tough guy drama making it seem like doing things to a Glock is some mystery. I want to add this and his sights. The slide stop and mag release are awesome. How did the trigger work out for you?
Very good install video, earned a Subscriber Thanks! Is this Larry Vickers trigger shoe really worth the cost and hassle over the stock trigger? Between 1 and 10 how would ya rate it? Thanks for the reply in advance guys........
Thanks for watching and subscribing! As to this trigger, I've been using it a bit and I think it really comes down to personal preference. If you like the feel of a flat faced trigger, it is absolutely worth it. Way more affordable than the others on the market too.
How's the trigger shoe working after a few years?
Where did you get your t-shirt? I like it.
From these guys Ken: www.liveqordie.com/collections/shirts/
@@KitBadger Thank you! The shirt looks great on you, btw!
@@15HMedia haha, right on, thanks Ken! :)
Thank you, I see you still keep the DMOS shovel in truck. May I inquire on your back plate? or is it a secret squirrel info.
The DMOS is always there. :) The backplate is the Vickers / Tango Down Slide Racker: tangodown.com/shop/vickers-tactical-slide-racker-gen5-glock-gsr-04/ Working up a review on it.
Aren’t there more safety checks you should do or is the Gen 5 that much different from earlier Glocks?
PS You wrote INSALL instead of INSTALL at the intro
How is this trigger treating you? I just bought mine
I may have missed it, but is there any permanent detrimental effect to the OEM trigger as a result of punching the pin through? Is the fact that it's not originally exposed just a deterrent from Glock meant to dissuade anyone who isn't a "certified armorer" from undertaking this task themselves? Thanks for the video, by the way.
I imagine you might still be able to use the OEM trigger, but when you hammer the pin through, you kind of "break" it. I wouldn't recommend using it over again.
Kit Badger Good to know, thanks for the heads up.
No problem Danny.
Danny, since I want to shoot stock at GSSF (Glock Sport Shooting Foundation), I’m going to buy a Glock trigger bar and add the TD-Vickers trigger shoe. Then it’s plug and play if you want a “factory spare” assembly.
Smart, since an OEM bar with OEM shoe installed is only $10-$15 depending on the source and shipping costs.
Also, a Glock Certified Armorer can lose the certification for recommending and installing aftermarket parts.
That certainly applies to servicing duty weapons.
Conversely, GSSF has the Unlimited Class for modified Glocks.
> Just got my Certification.
> Dispelled a few myths and learned some important details and techniques.
> Having the Armorer's Manual with the complete parts revision history and being able to order directly from Glock was worth the cost.
I’m going to guess the Gen 5 trigger doesn’t fit the 43x?
Just installed it on my Gen 3 G17. This video is 2 years old, wondering if it's working out great for you?
I just got mine, how’s it working for you?
Do you recommend this trigger shoe?
I'm liking it so far. I'll be putting out a video on it soon. Really comes down to personal preference.
Will this trigger work on gen 3 Glocks?
no they have em for gen 3/4 and then one for the 5th gen
That is not a glock armorer safety check.
Nicee
@ 4:38 - I prefer the phrase "gently and with great care tap it home" vs "Hammer it home", but eh it's your video. Laugh Out Loud.
