Daniel from New Zealand here, cheers for kidnapping me guys 100% that day was the most memorable of my travels, im still climbing 1 month later and really enjoying this sport :)
Laughed every time he said one more go and a few more quick ones. No wait just one more try. He is definitely hooked. Any good climber knows that magnetic pull to just give it one more go.
Daniel had such a great attitude. The "just go for it" quality that made him hop on a train with a stranger seemed to be the same quality that made him so fantastic as a climber. He just went for stuff. It was really admirable! Fun video!
This Daniel guy is fearless! Brought lots of new people climbing before and never saw someone commit to dynamic movements like that so easily. With regular training he's gonna be so good!
Josh. This is not only your best, but my favourite climbing vlog ever. Daniel. You are an ambassador for NZ. Sweet as bro. My new mantra - "Just do shit."
If Daniel keeps climbing I think a brilliant video would be him discussing some of his favourite climbs he has done after a year or so and see how he has improved after such an impressive start
he's doing so good for his first session! I climbed most of these problems recently. The blue dyno took me a few tries haha. semi inside flag with the clown rental shoes + socks on a steep volume on your first session is mental ! Almost makes me realize how huge the difference is when you start with very experienced climbers.
@@JoshRundleOk, now I take back what I say..the craziest first timer I ever see is..from mike boyd latest climbing video..the guy flash v5, on his first ever climbing session..its almost fake
Lol just no explanation for why this stranger/"non-climber" went camping in Fontainebleau with them after his second session ever 😂 I hope there's a sequel video
Well in mate. What we all love about climbing is the community! And I think it’s so dope that you might have just started his climbing journey which I think is amazing! Well in again! 🤙🏻
This was incredible Josh - what a brilliant video, it warmed my heart no end seeing the joy and also seeing you guys go on an adventure together! Thank you for spreading the climbing love!
I did notice that your beginner climber did have significant muscles and was quite physically fit, so just wondering what sport/exercise background he came from? He had strength, coordination and perserverance commonly found in athletes, certainly not in couch potatoes. Thanks Josh for a great vid and finding a Daniel was a great boon.
Disclaimer- I am also from New Zealand.. When I first heard Daniels accent I thought to myself, what sort of messed up accent is that? 😂 Then I saw his Canterbury pants and realised it’s my messed up accent… Well done Daniel, showed true kiwi grit there mate! Awesome to watch and hope to see you in the climbing gyms around NZ :)
A sweet talker 😂 but really Adam Ondra 😁 3:14 and no one yet ,Merd ! Ok he's awsome your the best teacher in the world and the coolest kidnapper to boot good you gave him your Ondra name 😂
Congratulations Josh! You have for sure achieved a professional level of "prise de râteaux" that deserves admiration!!! :P :) Daniel, trop fort, BRAVO!
wow, Daniel is really talented and it seems that he really enjoyed the experience. Glad that you got rejected till you found him😂😂. At least he had a good time and prolly got into climbing.
Such good vibes in this video! Did you also try out harder levels in this gym? Love watching people try out new gyms and see what they think of routesetting there!

Awesome to hear. Keep crushin! Look forward to the day that you're the weird guy on RUclips asking strangers to come climb 😂
well done mate
youre an absolute legend man, such a cool vibe!
You were brilliant. Glad you're still climbing.
Daniel my king 😭😭
Half way through & I'm beginning to suspect that Daniel is Magnus's best disguise yet 😂
Came here to say that. Magnus’ disguises are getting better and better
"What's more spontaneous than being kidnapped" 😂
You probably found the chillest guy in whole Paris! nice video Josh :)
Hah I think so! Daniel is a legend!
The chilliest guy in Paris...not even French.

Man, the amount of improvement that Daniel went through on the blue dyno is insane! He actually absorbed all the information Josh gave him.
This Daniel guy is fearless! Brought lots of new people climbing before and never saw someone commit to dynamic movements like that so easily. With regular training he's gonna be so good!
Josh: "Hi my name is Magnus Midtbo, would you like to climb with me?"
Dan: "Eh, I am actually Magnus. 🤨"
Josh. This is not only your best, but my favourite climbing vlog ever. Daniel. You are an ambassador for NZ. Sweet as bro. My new mantra - "Just do shit."
“I’m a RUclipsr and professional climber. My names Adam Ondra” 🤣
You found another natural climber. I think it's cool that you are spreading climbing around, and approaching new people
If Daniel keeps climbing I think a brilliant video would be him discussing some of his favourite climbs he has done after a year or so and see how he has improved after such an impressive start

OMG, 7 minutes of Josh getting rejected - that's my favourite video on this channel :D
Daniel and his gusto and natural aptitude is a joy to watch!
First time climbing, that hopping footswap on 14:40.... absolute natural :D
Definitely the best beginner climber i have seen ever..
Me too!!

@@az3ssin263 wow that is insane
Half-way through, waiting for Dan to take off his mask and reveal he's actually Magnus
This might be your most underrated videos. It's one of my faves and only has 30k views.
Bring Daniel back on some time!
rly cool guy you found! pls make a series out of this i love seeing newbies start climbing
Awesome video, really lucked out meeting him of all strangers!
Lol just no explanation for why this stranger/"non-climber" went camping in Fontainebleau with them after his second session ever 😂 I hope there's a sequel video
Haha I think coz it’s funny and an adventure. 😂 and why not. Sadly there is not 😢
@@JoshRundle Damn I was hoping there'd be more in Font too.
That was awesome, watching him progress into finishing the dyno…
Actually jumped out my seat when he almost landed the coordinated dyno. Followed by a LETS GO!!! when he landed it. Excellent video. Great job Daniel.
AND he went font! amazing dude
You nailed this video Josh!

I'd love to see more of Daniel if possible his energy was amazing!
Oh I love this video. Daniel had so much fun and I can see the 🤩in his eyes. Well done guys and happy new year!
Bro really is a natural. He learned that coordination dyno super fast. Good job Josh. Hope he keeps climbing!

I am so happy to share a man with this chill af human, Daniel was awesome video saved!
hes a climber forever now. i can see it
Happy to see one of my favourite climbing gym :)
In any teaching a beginner style video I have ever seen I have never rooted for the beginner this much

What city are you? Ive just got back to NZ signing up in Christchurch gym tmrw lol
Josh! Need to see progress vids with Daniel! He's a buddy now, and I love his fearlessness and energy.
Wow Adam Ondra met his long lost NZ cousin randomly in Paris?! Passat!!
Jan 1st and we probably just got the best video 2024 will get.
That's so sick, what a hero
Great video. Finding a New Zelander in Paris and he's a great climber with no experience! You couldn't have planned this better. Must be your coaching
Fantastic video. Great to see you all enjoying something new together👍
That was so fun to watch, from beginning to end! Love the psych 👏🏼
daniel has to be one of the most natural climbers i’ve ever seen
This was such a good vid! Daniel was super likeable
What a video.. loved it!
I did not expect that ending at all. Amazing!
Love this Josh, Daniel was amazing 😊

Daniel, trop fort, BRAVO!
Such a great series, Josh! Nice work as always 👍🏻👍🏻 I may have to give this a try in 2024 and ask a stranger to go climbing too 😄
wow, Daniel is really talented and it seems that he really enjoyed the experience. Glad that you got rejected till you found him😂😂. At least he had a good time and prolly got into climbing.
This video is high quality entertainment and deserves all the views! Well done Josh
Top 1% beginner, easily. 💪
One of us, one of us lol. Daniel is not bad at all !!! Is there more video of you guys in fontainebleau ?
Going to font on your second day of climbing ever is actually crazy. Daniel is about to be the fastest progressing climbing ever.
Awsome Video, nice Guy.
Happy New Year.
Climbing is contagious
wow what a lucky guy
natural talent, and that excalated quickly
Nice Video! I really enjoyed the storytelling 😃
You should go visit him in new zealand for more vids. By then he might be better than you though ;)
just so you know josh i would've said yes
This was a truly incredible video, happy new year!
Great video 👍
Such good vibes in this video!
Did you also try out harder levels in this gym? Love watching people try out new gyms and see what they think of routesetting there!
What an amazing video!
Thank you 🙏 one of my favourites I’ve ever made
The rejections were worth finding Daniel.
Josh, I’d 100% would have sad yes. It’s still a yes, you just have to come to Dresden Germany 😄
brilliant
Those V1-V2 were the softest and shortest boulders I think i've ever seen
What a great dude
Go Daniel!
Climbing is the only sport I know of (at least for me) where after only 1 time a lot of people can be like "yep, I'm just going to keep doing this".
Just started studying abroad in Paris! Too bad I didnt bump into you
Daniel went turbo on his first day.
took me 2 months to be as good as he was on his first day. and i'm reasonably fit too
@JonaasKahh that's true. He's still very good at this though
you should meet up with Daniel to go climbing again
I knew it, this type of video WAS for Josh to find a potential GF!
don't worry, you're still closer at it than I am
Hey I am going to Paris in the weekend of 12-14 January. Anyone wanna boulder with me?
"...seeing as we are now best friends." "What's his name again?" rofl 🤣
Josh is rapidly becoming my favourite climber on RUclips. Awkward at the next level
I really love this concept, but as a French guy, I'm a bit sad that you didn't find a local to come with you
Thank you 🙏 I did try 😂 but they weren’t so keen. And Daniel was the best
I was starting to think this video would be half an hour of Josh being rejected
"wheres the rest of it?" epidemy of climbing.
Is he acoustic
He can't fool me. He's def a pro and was filming his own vid of fooling a pro climber making him think im a beginner climber.
eyes on the feet
what a video.
Comment for the algorithm
You forgot my name again... maybe 😂😂
Invite me next time :D
0 comments in 30 minutes wtf
Got one now though ❤️
Are we sur this "daniel" is not some disguised Magnus ?
Homie would die if he had to do door to door sales
😂😂😂
