    As a former Kia employee, I gotta say this car is pretty amazing considering the price point. We had to train for 2 days on it's features,just to get certified so that we could sell this car. Really nice blend of power and luxury. Great review as always.

      Jonathan Washington well see, unlike most people, you actually have a great taste for cars.
      Kia used to suck, but now they've really really stepped up their game. If this isnt a premium automobile its full on Luxury! I mean 60k gets you so much from Kia or Hyundai.
      Are they as reliable as the japanese? Not quite but damn close. Are they more reliable than anything the US builds? Absolutely!

      I think if they launched a luxury brand like Lexus for Toyota, it might be more appealing.

    My grandparents have this car, they bought theirs about a month ago. They are coming from a 2008 Kia Amita. This is a very slick car. I drove it home from the dealership. I was running 95mph and only felt like I was going 65mph. I love this car.

    Great video Kyle! Those gauges are so cool and you did a great job giving your driving impressions in addition to your usually good walkthrough of the features. You're really lucky to be getting press cars, hopefully the awesome job you did on this one will encourage Kia and other companies to give you more press cars in the future!

    The more I watch this video, the more I like this car. I think it's the best-looking large, premium sedan out there as well. For $66k, with the VIP Package, I'd definitely buy one in a second. I wish I could get one right now. Brand snobbery means nothing to me, and I think many more people would love this car if they honestly compared all it offers vis a vie Mercedes, Audi and BMW, at a much lower price. I'll bet it rides more comfortably than all of them also. The K900 definitely has more room in the front than the Mercedes S-Class, Audi A8, and BMW 7-Series. Lovely car at a bargain price.

  • @ATRichard
    @ATRichard 10 лет назад +1

    I like it a lot. I've been a fan of many newer KIAs lately, from roughly 2011 to present, especially the Optima. Buick has also undergone a similar brand image transformation in the past 5 years or so. I do think KIA needs to strongly consider changing their logo now tho from a marketing standpoint. Where some older brands like Oldsmobile may have changed their logos too often when there was no need to, people obviously still associate the current KIA logo with the brand from the 90's and early 00's. And it's a completely different company now. They deserve the respect they've longed for for creating a product like this for thousands less than the main competition to the K900. Selling a KIA for $60-70k is still gonna be a tough one... But then again, $60-70 grand is a lot for ANY CAR, not just a KIA. People are just "brand blind". Nevertheless, great review of an equally great car.

  • @aaron.hudacky
    @aaron.hudacky 10 лет назад +2

    This car is amazing. If I were in the market for a new luxury car, I'd only consider the LS or Genesis as a competitor. I'm very interested to see how maintenance costs play out over time. If the Kia and Hyundai are actually reasonable to maintain, they will have a good advantage over their German rivals. Below I read a comment that if you buy a luxury car you should expect to pay for maintenance. I feel differently. If a car is truly well built and engineered, it will perform exceptionally while remaining durable and economical to maintain, regardless of which market segment it is intended to be sold in.

    the strange this is... when you ride a Kia K900 or Hyundai Genesis... you will get a lot, I mean, A LOT of attention from Lexus, Jaguar, Mercedes and BMW owners.. heck even Rolls Royce and Aston Martin owners pay attention to Kias and Hyundais..
    Because they cannot fathom how their cars are worth 3-4 times more than something that looks just as elegant [if you don't know the brand, the cars look of equal prestige]. Many of them sob at how they've been duped by the pursuit of brand-image conscientiousness, which does nothing to please the owner but drain him of money that he worked so hard for, that no one wants to give for free, just to buy a car to impress people that don't really care about him

    Another fine job, Kyle. I never considered a Kia before, but this is a very nice car. I'm glad they went for maximum comfort and ride quality. Too many large sedans try to pretend they're sports cars and end-up being uncomfortable to drive long distances. The K900 is rather like the old Lincoln Town Cars used to be, and that's a good thing as far as comfort goes. Thanks for sharing this with us.

      +Javonte Hill I'm in the same boat! Giving up my '04 VW Touareg for a '16 Kia Optima. VW is a terrible company, and the Emissions scandal is just a drop in the bucket. There's an electrical issue wrong with my car that causes it to bolt forward after you have to apply the breaks quickly; its like the gears get jammed. People could seriously get hurt, and VW knows its a problem but refuses to recall / repair the problem. I will never buy another VW, new or used.

    Great review and the K900 is an impressive car at that price-point. However, for 66K, I would choose an Audi A6 or BMW 535i. I don't need a full-size car and I enjoy a sportier ride, greater engine/transmission refinement with enough interior comfort.

  • @NeXMaX
    @NeXMaX 9 лет назад +5

    Although I like the K900, it's still a KIA at the end of the day.
    Yes, it's a good car, but what would you rather turn up in? A Kia K900, or a Mercedes-Benz S550?
    I wouldn't be surprised if people went for the K900, but I would prefer the S550 simply because KIA still has an image problem. I think a luxury division would work. Infiniti worked for Nissan, Lexus worked tremendously well for Toyota and Acura did well for Honda.
    I would still get a K900 if I had the money, though. Looks like tremendous value for money, though I'll give it some time for it to mature because, like I said, KIA still has an image problem. Maybe this might turn that around.

    • @NeXMaX
      @NeXMaX 9 лет назад

      I actually really want to have a go in this.
      If anything, this is a Lexus LS or Mercedes S Class for peanuts.

    • @drjd2real

      People need to stop worrying about image provided by a stupid car, and worry more about their bodies. I see the fattest slobs in expensive sport cars. It just looks like you're putting lipstick on a pig. I'd rather date a beautiful girl driving a bottom of the line Kia vs an ugly girl in a s550 Benz. I'd get the s550, but not to impress a woman. Will all these dummies you're trying to impress sick around when the s550 gets repoed and you lose the house.

    Y'all stop comparing it to the German automotive industry. KIA is doing their own thing and this is a very beyond decent car for their first true luxury car and yet talk down on it over one of the most 2 overrated brands in the world. This is KIA's first luxury line to come a little close to the 7 series, S class, & LS it may not out do them at first but just give it a chance at least and it'll get better over the generations it'll hope to see, at least it'll be cheaper to maintain cause of the manufacture name it bares & a 3.8 V8 engine putting out 400+HP with a nice note?? I'd say they're not doing too bad for themselves it could a been worse.

    • @mattjohnson6227

    • @jelly1928
      @jelly1928 9 лет назад

      See, this is what you don't understand. You cant just get up one morning and impulsively decide to make a change a car company to make it a luxury company. It needs to have heritage and history. This is where Hyundai fails. Lexus/Infiniti/Acura were born luxurious, not just an impulse.

    • @unknownunknowns
      @unknownunknowns 8 лет назад

      +Hamann I'm just wondering what is 'luxury'? I ask because you can get heated seats in a Kia compact.

    • @jelly1928
      @jelly1928 8 лет назад

      Luxury isn't necessarily features or upgrades in a car. Its the heritage. Its the fact that with cars such as BMW, Lexus, Benz etc, you get a sort of respect when you tell people you drive one of those cars. You may be thinking, who cares what people think. If youre one of those people who dont care, then you dont care, but a very high majority of people buy these cars, not just for the luxury aspects but also the name and the prestige of saying that you own of those cars. Its more of a pride thing.

    • @unknownunknowns
      @unknownunknowns 8 лет назад

      +Hamann I suppose you're right. There are people who buy them because of the name and then pay a high price to maintain them; I just hope I don't have to bail them out with my tax dollars because of their poor decisions. Anyway, I'm glad that Kia made this car so maybe these brands can make their cars mean SUBSTANCE more than 'heritage'.

      Trust me, it is great for first few weeks then you start to find odd things. buttons are not in right places so you have to figure out all different things.. Auto stop button and drive mode button are right next to each other but drive mode button, you can put your finger then boom you could select the drive mode. However, you have to push and hold the auto stop button for a good second to activate that. I thought I did at the stop light, reaching something in the back seat and hit the car in front of me... It was not activated... I learned my lesson so when I use auto stop button, I hold it for 10 seconds, look at the dashboard to confirm then let the brake pedal go.... K900 is a knock off luxury car.

      Why is the Toyota Camry the best-selling sedan in America then? Whoop! Whoop! Korean cars are generally copies. The Kia looks like a fucking Bentley that raped a BMW. Did you know that the early Hyundais were actually Mitsubishis? A Japanese company actually gave a head start to your car industry, and you still say Japanese cars are not good? Your English needs a lot of work. You don't say "Japan" cars... It's "Japanese" cars. When you say "safty", do you mean "safety"? English is my 2nd language, and I know it better than you do.

      Chinese products are not always are better. You know that they put asbestos in their cars, right? They are #1 in making knock-offs too. Japanese camera brands dominate nearly 90% of the whole market. FujiFilm, Canon, Lumix, ETC. All of those companies you have mentioned are still very popular. Many friends I had that worked in retail can verify that. You just don't want those companies to be popular. Your argument is flawed. Get out.

    very nice car. I have had a few problems with it. I purchased this exact car, in white, with 26k miles, within 2k miles the ac compressor went out. the white leather on the driver seat, arm rest just started coming off. the dash looked as if it melted, finally the transmission had issues. I had it for almost 2 months. luckily they did take it back and put me in a 2016 vip. v6 😠. big difference. it is definitely a better car. only thing, I m at 650 miles and the battery had to be replaced, the soft close doesn't work on the driver side, and the mirrors don't fold down in reverse anymore. I just hope I don't continue to have problems. if you get one lease it
