Clowns are definitely one of our favorites, and always have been…. had them ever since grade school and learned right away you gotta keep them on the hot side to decrease the chance of ich. We keep our big 220 where we have our family of 13 around 78 to 79 and it’s never been a problem it helps to have a good alpha. We’re lucky on that case Our Alpha is older than Jack, and does a great job at commanding the troops and keeping them in line lol, also people must realize that this is a schooling Fish, and if you don’t have at least four or five of them, they are most likely going to be stressed and quite honestly it makes sense to have at least 10 because they are absolutely beautiful when they are more of them!! They also make for phenomenal snail control. If that’s something that someone is trying to accomplish. We will at times take one of our smaller ones and put him or her in one of the smaller tanks just to eat things up and then it’ll be good for another few months Especially the Malaysian trumpets snails….. it’s like a three day vacation for the clown Looch to have at and go all out they get so incredibly fat. It’s unbelievably funny….. and then we put them back in their home tank it’s a lot easier than trying to get the nails out and put them in with the clown Lashes but sometimes we do that too and that can be fun as well….. happy new year, sir we hope you’re having a great one!
Great video. I love Clown Loaches. The only thing I suspect you might not be right about is their size. They do get huge, but I believe it's normally around 12 inches and not 16 - 20. But either way you'll need a substantial tank long term!
My fav fish by far! I have 30 in my 210g most are 5-6” but I have a few smaller and one around 7”! Some people in the fb clown loach groups have a few over 25 years old, I think some in the 30s.. definitely long lived fish. And these guys can do well in hard water too! So don’t let that be a deterrent!
@@toddbigeasy yes, they love to eat plants. I recently added hornwort and they havnt touched it yet. (4 days strong lol) I also added an Indian almond leaf so they’ve been munching on that here and there so I can’t say it’s the hornwort, or if it’s cuz they have something else to nibble on. But Java fern, jungle val, thin val, and anubias, have all been destroyed very quickly.
Great video!. You mention it but it's worth emphasizing that they are ich magnets. It tried them years ago before RUclips was thing and good information was available. But soon discovered that they are easily stressed and instantly get ich. I highly recommend quarantine on these guys(which also stresses them a bit) but better than breaking out in you main tank. Anyway that was just my experience, YMMV. Absolutely beautiful fish but take precautions.
Got one accidentally, they put it in the bag while netting some other fish, didn't know what 2 do with him so I added him into my predator tank (450gal), he still doing fine lol
Good video I have 13 and 'were gonna need a bigger tank' alright! Good point about no scales, few videos poibt that out. So no salt for these boys i guess. My question why slightly acidic? Tia m8. Gday from Forster, NSW. PS NICE CLOWNS!
Awesome video mate. Great win. Congratulations mate Australia is in icc world cup final vs us in world's biggest stadium. Narendra modi stadium. How much excited u r? I thik Australia gonna beat 👊 us & claim their 6th world cup
I have mine with my blood parrot and the play all the time as you know blood parrots are super aggressive. He will not bother a loach so that is not true as u have cichlids in that tank I would not put them with an Oscar however
Man that tank is the 8th wonder of the world . lol it’s incredible.❤
Dad used to have just one clown in a tropical tank. It was shy but it could hold its own against the angel that used to bully the other fish.
Clown loaches are probably my favourite fish 🐠 😊
Mine too, I just haven't got the space to keep them!

Yeah, in captivity the rarely get above 10 inches but in the wild they can get huge up to 18-20 inches.
Yeah always going to be outliers I suppose, i doubt many people ever grow fish out to their true potential size
My Favorite fish :)

do you have issues with them and plants?

Yep they love to put holes in plants
Likewise, I have 13 and removed all the other tennants, and gave them 4 yoyo loaches to chill with. Playful team oriented fish, and quite the athlete

Get him 3 team mates they really are a team player I have 13 started with 4.
I've heard of them killing other fishes with their spikes.
No, they last forever and get huge 😂
I love your shows. That fish tank looks so awesome.
I do have a serious snail problem in my tank. Been trying to find something to eat them ...😢
Dwarf chain loach could be an option if the tank is smaller
I had hundreds of snails on my wood ornaments. Nothing helped. I got 3 clowns and the snails are completely gone.😊
Wow machallah i have clown I love the way she swims ☺️❤️ Good luck... I liked the pool... I have a big pool too
Looking to get some of those roselines to go with my loaches too. Good looking fish.
Agreed

Awesome vid for an awesome fish🔥 thank you thank you✌️♥️
Glad you enjoyed it
Do you have an Australian fish that could be kept in a ten gallon
Pseudomugils are your best friend. Red neon blue eyes (luminatus) are a great choice. 6 or so
Can they live with a Dojo loach?
Yeah should be fine
