    Leakproof bottles are one solution, but lately I’ve just side-stepped the issue entirely. Shampoo and soap in bar form, roll-on deodorant etc can’t leak; it’s also less hassle in your carryon (no messing about with taking out your liquids). You can even get solid toothpaste - you just chew it up a bit before you start brushing.
    As a side benefit, bars of soap and shampoo often use less plastic packaging (or even none at all). For travel I put soap etc in special soap bags that allow them to dry whilst sealed (Matador make one, mine are by a brand called ‘Travel Buddy’).

    18:38 As someone who lives in Florida, when we laugh and say the weather can be bipolar, we mean it. Winter - you’ll go from freezing to sweltering. I remember not long after we moved here the summer when I was 10, I looked out the front window and it was sunny and looked out the back and it was pouring. You just never know down here 😅

    • @zoobrizz
      @zoobrizz Год назад +1

      Really? As a life long resident. It’s very predictable especially with the new weather apps. It’s never extremely cold. Our coldest day this winter was 38. Wow. And that day it hit 55.

    • @mandymagnolia1966
      @mandymagnolia1966 Год назад

      @@zoobrizz May my weather app must be terrible then 🤣 19 years and my weather app’s hardly ever right, especially in terms of rain. Only time it was accurate was when I studied abroad in Japan. If it called for rain, it was gonna rain. Here, I’ll get 80% chance of storms, and it’ll be sunny and sweltering all day

    • @ashleighelizabeth5916
      @ashleighelizabeth5916 Год назад

      @@zoobrizz it's predictably unpredictable in my experience. Sunny in the morning, thunderstorms in the afternoon and sunny in the evening. Sure the weather app might tell you that but it's not so perfect that it always predicts exactly when should have your rain gear on. November trips I end up packing for two seasons since I can never be sure if it's will be cold enough for long pants and jackets or warm enough for sandals and shorts.

Absolutely yes to the power block with usb ports and noise cancelling items! We just returned from a 5 night AKL stay, and the late night/early morning toilet flush symphony is real🤣. I would also recommend packing a supply of Liquid IV, regardless of the time of year you are travelling. Dehydration is dangerous and this product really helps keep energy levels up and helps prevent those afternoon or early morning headaches.

    Instead of a white noise machine (or app), there are several white noise, pink noise, brown noise videos on RUclips that last 10-11 hours. And you can play it while your phone is charging. There are also relaxation, insomnia music videos that you can use as well. I have tinnitus and I have to alternate videos after a couple nights because my ears get used fro them so fast.

    Great tips. Note: We usually fly with only carry-ons, and we've never had issues bringing small scissors on the plane. Current restrictions say they can be carried on if they are less than 4" (10 cm) from the pivot). :) Also, arm sleeves are great for layers; they keep your arms warm (or cool if you get them wet) and also block the sun. They roll up and fit in your pocket or bag without having to lug a jacket or a bottle of sunscreen.

    Whenever I have to pack liquid of any kind in my checked luggage I now use a dry bag that I bought for canoe and kayak trips. I place large items in tied off grocery store bags inside the dry bag and small items go in zip lock bags inside the dry bag. If something breaks or leaks the bag itself will keep everything contained. If I'm going to a park with water rides where I can't store my stuff before getting on the ride the dry bag ends up being my shoulder bag for the day with the addition of a shoulder strap. Phone, camera and anything else I want to stay dry stays dry that way.
    This year I've decided to get a water bottle with built in filter. I had one years ago but lost it and it was fantastic. I can fill it from in potable water source (sink, water fountain, hotel ice machine and water) and the filter built into the spout works to filter the water for me. It tastes way better and is a safe and cheap way to stay hydrated.

    Good tips. Few other things from a seasoned Disney Traveler:
    Tupperware and gallon size zip loc bags. This comes in handy so much for leftovers and waterproof storage. I also like to bring a couple straws, the biodegradable straws are pretty awful.
    Waterproof phone pouch for pool day and waterparks.
    GUM.. it helps so much with an upset stomach, and you won't be able to find it anywhere on property.

    Regarding the leak proof travel bottles...you can use whatever travel bottles you have and MAKE them leak-proof by simply placing a small piece of plastic wrap or a small ziplock snack bag over the opening, then screwing the lid on over the plastic. I did this when traveling overseas and it prevents leaks AND gives you a spare ziplock baggie or three!

    I actually pack this stuff for trips, nice to see I have everything covered. Except that I use Bose in-ear noise cancellation for the plane and an eye mask with white noise. I also have a ScotteVest jacket with removable sleeves for spring and fall. It has load of pocket and zippers. Great for traveling and parks. I can zip my sunglasses into a pocket and hitch a ride without worries. There also a spot to carry my portable battery - a big win! I also recommend that you print a copy of the itinerary and pack in an outside luggage pocket, in case it gets lost. You can tell baggage claim that and then they can track you down easier.

    Extra thing for planes with aux slots: if you have someone with you and you want to watch a movie together without trying to time two screens to be the same moment, you can actually buy a aux splitter so you can just have both people have their headphones/earbuds connect to the same screen. I bought one designed for my phone so that I can share my music with my friends, but I’m sure a normal aux one is out there too and it’s awesome! No weird audio from splitting it either!

    AJ and everyone, you might get a kick out of this. In 1988 two friends and I flew to San Juan, Puerto Rico to get on a Carnival cruise. One of them is addicted to Coke and read that cruise lines charge an arm and a leg for soft drinks. So she threw a couple of dozen cans of Coke into her suitcase along with her clothes. When she opened her suitcase upon arriving at the hotel in San Juan, she found that all the cans had exploded and soaked her clothes with Coke! At least at that time, the luggage hold was not pressurized, so all that carbonated fluid just burst the seams of the cans! So: put all your clothes in Ziploc bags to avoid them getting ruined. Don’t put pressurized cans in your checked luggage! And make sure to put any liquids in your checked luggage into leakproof bags, or get the special tubes/bottles AJ is telling us about.

    I go nowhere without at least a couple of Travel Type Space bags - they are like Vacuum Bags BUT to get the air out of them you roll them up to the bottom. So you do not need a pump or a Vacuum. They take up much less space than the clothes themselves and I like putting dirty clothes in them since they prevent them from smelling up the rest of the Luggage. On a road trip I also have at least a couple of those Newer Metal Cups that keep liquids hot or cold. I can get a whole day of cold drink with them and all I have to do is spill the Fast Food Drink into them. But I agree that having a few larger (Like gallon ones) plastic storage bags is a great idea for things that could spill or leak.

    Or buy an aux cord for anywhere from $1 -$9 that goes directly to your phone and wired headphones.

    I can't find the video where you reference your recommendation for feet care. I saw a video about you recommending a foot massage lotion or bath or something. Can anyone reading this help me out?

    I just put my bottles of toiletries in gallon size freezer baggies. They are more durable than regular baggies.

    I’m surprised more luggage cottoned haven’t cottoned on to fitting air rage OR creating their own versions & installing them in luggage.

    I never got a reply after several attempts to hear back from your website for the dfb food guides I purchased that didn’t receive the discount even though it showed up before checkout.

    We finally went to Disney after planning and saving 2 years, and while it was a fun trip, I was hugely disappointed in what I expected for the $3-4k price tag.
    Maybe it's just us, but if you are planning on breaking YOUR bank just to give your family the best vacay, you might reconsider, I would've gone internationally or a fancy beach house in FL, maybe a multi state road trip in Colorado and such. It's just not as great as they make it out to be for the outrageous price

      I'll be honest here, Disney is best done in small chunks and with an outside the resort bubble experience. What I mean by that is that it's better to stay at a hotel that is near Disney but not a Disney property. It's better to do a day or two of Disney parks but combine it with a trip to Universal or Sea World. It's better to eat maybe a meal or two at Disney but get the majority of your meals someplace else. If you are going to do a Disney Resort only vacation yes you are going to pay through the nose for it and YES there are much better values in vacations elsewhere. In some cases that better value is right down the road from Disney.

    Another reason to carry layers, if you get caught in the rain and then have to ride a bus back to your hotel, those buses are NOT WARM. The a/c at night when you’re wearing rain dampened clothes is awful!

    I’ve been watching your blogs for a few months now and it’s really brought me up to speed since I last came in 2018!
    My daughter and I are coming again from the UK in August this year and there are a few videos floating around on TikTok stating that Disney is going “cash only” from July? Do you happen to know it there’s any truth behind this? Something to do with high taxes and the Florida government?
    You’re the only channel I use as gospel 😂😂
    Thank you! ❤
