I'm a former Magic Kingdom employee and have been telling people this for years. The single best time to go to Disney is on Super Bowl Sundays. Weather is nice, and the crowds are the smallest they're going to be all year. You will pretty much get to do everything on your list.
Last week of august first week of sept the universal and disney was empty
@@KajiKingStarzky how was the weather though? 😅 I’ve been thinking about going then.
Too bad my mom and stepdad wants to go during March, for my b-day.
Oh that’s such a good isea
@@imanihunter4524 February in Orlando can get into the 20s and 30s. Not a fun time to be waiting 45 minutes for a resort bus, no matter how many layers you wore that day.
If you have a reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table during the fireworks show. Highly recommend you are near the carousel area before they start taping off and blocking off the areas. We learned the hard way and really had to detour our way to get to the back of the castle to check in for our reservation. Thankfully we made it in the nick of time to enjoy this amazing restaurant.
As a former Costodial cast member I want to add one thing to the sunscreen advice. Don't lose your sunscreen. I can't even count the number of bottles of sunscreen I have found left abandoned in the parks on a daily basis. We would keep them backstage for castmembers to use since the guests didn't seem to want them anymore.
Alternatively: Free Sunscreen
Little Known Fact (rolleyes): You ARE allowed to walk down Main Street on the sidewalks! And they often have less foot traffic than the street!
Yeah. I try to avoid walking right down the middle of Main Street USA 😂
Yeah, I feel that "make sure they want to go" thing. My wife loves Disney World and loves her annual trip for the diabetes conference, and I think it hurts her some that I'd rather go to a Cedar Fair amusement part where everything is much cheaper, there's no crazy planning, and most importantly is so much closer (we have 3 within reasonable driving distance with one so close we can make an impromptu day trip if we decided, whereas Disney World requires flying across the country). I had fun the 4 times I've been, but aside from some theming I'm good with going once every 5-10 years when there's a lot of new stuff and instead doing 3 other trips for the same price.
There's too much to have to consider these day when navigating/negotiating all things Disney. These videos have become "must bookmark"
Ok, this is kinda funny. But I just realized your voice makes me feel relaxed, happy.
Reminds me of when I was at Disny world !
Love the suggestion for asking your kids opinion! Every trip kids are into new things. I could have saved a lot of time and money on experiences on this one and started learning after the first trip or two to get their input on things… AND LISTEN!
What kind of things did you ask? Planning a trip and would l love to find some ways to save some money lol
I see SO many parents dragging their kids onto things they don't want to do. I think it's great to take their opinions into consideration.
@@ttintagel the worst one ive seen that ruins the experience for others is smugglers run. Almost always theres a kid that has no business or desire to be as the pilot. They are terrified 9/10 and the other ppl stuck in the ride with them, the experience is ruined!!! Rider swap ppl!!
My husband, son-in-law, daughter, and I are taking my 6 year old grandson to Magic Kingdom for the first time. Just doing a one day into this year while we are in FL for a week. We are staying at the Drury so we can get a suite at reasonable price. It's a surprise for him.
We got Coronado springs for about $40 more than pop century. Talk about a good deal. This place is amazing.
Former MK CM (Guest Relations) here. Every single thing DFB listed here I would wholeheartedly agree with. Drinking LOTS of water, folks. WAY more than you think. Start before you even get to FL (esp. with kids) by pounding water the week before you arrive. And SUNSCREEN (I'm looking at YOU fair-skinned Irish & British guests). OMG! Summa Y'all walk in and you're SO sunburned and red, you look like you walked through a lava explosion in the lobby of the Poly. PLEASE, I'm beggin' ya, USE sunscreen! And just like the water advice, use way MORE of it than you're used to back home and way more often! FYI, it's MUCH cheaper at Walmart or Dollar General in Orlando (cheaper still if you pack it from home!) than inside the WDW bubble.
I fell and broke my foot during a trip once, and ended up in the ER at Celebrations Hospital. The waiting room was wall-to-wall kids with heat exhaustion and severe sunburn.
Having had a Annual pass since 2014 (never gave up mine during covid!) I actually enjoy the crowds during holidays! Sure the lines are long, but the conversations on line are part of the fun to me. Ya, I be crazy! Disney is my happy place!
PS would love to meet AJ! at the parks sometime, just to see my hero lol
That’s because you can go back ANYTIME. Most people don’t have that luxury and have to plan ahead and don’t want the crowds. I know, I had an annual pass for Disneyland for many years. Sometimes we would just go for an evening since we had unlimited access. It’s my Happy Place too. We now make a trip to DW every year 😍
Me, a canadian who has thanksgiving break in october:
*_foolish mortals_*
*shakes fist angrily* BLAME CANADA! BLÂMER LE CANADA! 😆
As a fellow Canadian I go at the end of August where their school has already started. It is hot but dead and well worth it.
Problem with catching a later flight home is that you still need to be at the airport ridiculously early. Orlando Airport is one of the most crowded, worst airports in the country with security lines extending up to 2 hours or more. We had priority check in and TSA pre-check last February and it still took over 90 minutes to check in and get through security. To put that in perspective, on the flight out from Minneapolis (so a good sized airport) that same check in and security took less than 15 minutes.
I never go to a park the day I arrive and the day I leave.
Same! Usually those are Boardwalk/Springs/Pool days for us!
I’ve never waited in TSA pre check for more than 10-15 minutes. Guess I’ve just been lucky. Visit often as my daughter lives there and I’m there in March for business every year
@@lianelayman6584why not the day you arrive? I was thinking to go the day we arrive but catch a late flight but no park the day we depart
With the hotels and the return of the dining plan, in the UK dinign plan is usually a bundled bonus, when we went it was cheaper to go to Saratoga and then middle dining plane, 1x quick 1x sit down, than book a cheaper hotels and upgrade from the quick service only plan
Actually, AJ, The Grinch didn't say he wouldn't touch with a 9 1/2" pole, the song said "I wouldn't touch" meaning those are the words of the artist singing the song.
in terms of vacation days and flights, i usually book evening flights so i can leave after work and have the whole saturday instead of leaving sat morning
I agree with you. It takes us 6-6.5 hours to drive to Orlando. I’d rather pay extra for a night of a hotel, but already be there and settled in versus having to take an extra day of leave to travel or missing part of a morning to get there.
My friend got me a water bottle with a filter in it when a group of us went to WDW in 2017 and I LOVE it. I still use it....I bought new filters for it so I can replace them before each trip and it works SO well. It's not a huge bottle so it fits nicely in my park backpack but it's big enough that it allows me to keep myself hydrated without tasting the horrible water. Definitely a good option instead of buying water or getting that small cup of water with all your meals! =)
It blows my mind that people wait 60,75,90 minutes for the Navi river journey. It’s such a lame ride.
I unfortunately have to agree. Just a lot of projections but I will admit the animatronic is impressive. But yeah big let down.
Because that park has few rides to spread the crowd. It is either wait in line or go home early.
I agree. I wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes for it. On my last visit, about 45 minutes before park close, the posted wait was still 110 minutes. My friend and I decided to skip Navi River and went to our Flight of Passage Lightning Lane. When we left FOP, we walked by Navi River one more time; the wait was now down to 95 minutes. Just as we were about to call it a day, the posted wait dramatically changed to 10 minutes (talk about Disney magic 😂). We obviously got on at that point.
Correct. Our first ride on it was about 90 min wait. It wasn't worth it. Second time was a walk on and that was definitely worth it.
I never thought I'd disagree with you about anything , but for the saving vacation time tip, I actually gain time by flying in the afternoon/early evening. I work from 4 am- noon. Flying in the afternoon allows for a relaxing evening before a bright and early start the next day rather than waiting until the following morning to travel. On return days i always try to get home as close to midnight as possible. I'm cool with a small nap to enjoy a few hours in DS before leaving our REAL Home!
Went to Disney last week. Yes drink lots of water and use the restroom before getting in ride lines. Know that you won't be able to do and see everything in parks. Choose whats important. And walk alot a couple of months before vacation
My sister and I have a pact never to photograph each other eating frozen bananas.
The catch morning flight there, afternoon/evening flight home tip really only works if you live in the USA or Canada. Depending on the route, it is between 17 and 20 hours flying from my home city to Orlando one way. You usually can’t be choosy on flight times unless you choose to stop over enroute.
I asked my son when he was younger and he didn't want to go. We are going this year now that he is older and wants to be there. So glad I asked the first time!
Other times to avoid: RunDisney and other footrace weekends. Don’t stay in an All Stars resort if there are sports or cheer competitions at the time of your visit. About Genie+: is Flight of Passage an individual Lightning Lane, or Genie+? That’s a queue I’d want to avoid.
It's an ILL. :) But yeah, that queue gets so long!
We try to book our flight for very early in the morning on our arrival day. The day we leave, we try to book a night flight if possible. This adds up to two more days on the vacation.
Us too! We usually try a 7 AM flight there and a 9 PM flight back if we can. Last time we added an extra day to save money on the flight but we had to do an afternoon flight :/
I love your insights to all things Disney, not just Food!
Used to go many times to Disney but we’re older and crowds, heat, prices don’t appeal to us anymore.we like more relaxing vacations, but we had lots of fun there years ago when it wasn’t so crowded. We have many nice parks in Pennsylvania where we don’t have to travel too far. Not to overpriced. But still love Disney.miss Disney express transport. Have fun!
Truth teller here. The parks are always crowded 🤷🏾♂️
I think I got whiplash from nodding my head yes to everything you said and especially the train tracks. I was very close friends with a few character in Spectromagic and I can tell you those train tracks pop out of nowhere!
The lines
The heat
The misbehaving children and their enabling parents
Overpriced food
Overpriced souvenirs that will collect dust in your home and never be used
Agreed over it
Can’t wait for my Disneyworld trip next year in May! Thanks for the tips, they’re really helpful. We’re planning on staying at a Disney resort, because we never experienced one. We’re looking at the Pop Century Hotel.
That is a good choice, I have stayed there before. It is one of the only value hotels that also has access to the Skyliner. The lines will be long in the morning to get on, but it is so nice to take it back in the evening right to your own hotel. Have fun!
@@blaster-zy7xx oh sweet!! Yeah my coworker told me about how close the skyliners are. And also I had feeling it’ll be busy lol. Not surprise 😂 but it’s all good, just long I’m there.
I tripped on the train tracks in MK. My arm is still sore when I touch that spot or lean on that spot. Be Careful
I’ve wondered about those… but I figured they were safe otherwise Disney would get the pants sued off of them. I guess they are a hazard. Feel better!
Fly in the evening and stay at the airport that first night. You don’t waste a vacation day and you save a lot of dollars off your first night hotel. Often the flight is considerably cheaper too. You can get up as earlier as you want to head out to DW and you beat that first way of flight arrivals. Drop your luggage and get started!
We have been going for years and found that the first week of December is usually slow.
I went with my marching band and we marched in a parade at the beginning of December and I literally sprained my ankle from tripping over the trolly tracks and I still continued marching. I hate those tracks 😂
Last time I was at AK, Kali River Rapids had a 5 minute wait (5 minutes spent probably walking on). No one wanted to ride it because it was 30 degrees. Even the animals were put up.
…the trolley tracks…the heat exhaustion…both can sneak up and grab you!! have experienced both at both DLR and WDW…and I’ve only gone to DLR two times!!! Be sure to prepare and protect yourself everyone!!
The only alarming time for heavy dye that hit me was the bright red for lunar new year. I just say - whatever colour of food you're eating...just remember you have eaten it the next time you go to the bathroom! Red will scare you to death!
Take others info about WDW with a grain of salt. What they found fabulous you may not. Expecting the same experience can also lead to disappointment.
I’m going to MK Memorial Day weekend. Wish me luck 🫡
LOVE all these tips!! My son got a wish trip last year due to some medical dx he has. We had NEVER been to Disney before and had to go on short notice so we didn't have the planning that most people do!! Due to some recent dx before our trip we didn't get to enjoy the trip like we wanted!!
Just back from a WDW trip and ride Tron 6 times.
If you miss your hour window, don't fret.
Like regular lightning lane there's a hidden lee-way time.
Instead of 5 minutes before and 15 minutes after it seems to be upto 45 minutes after.
If you're over 45 minutes but you were delayed due to a paid experience such as a dining reservation, take a copy of your receipt with the time visible (I just took a photo) and they'll accommodate you!
This happened to me twice, once when I got boarding group 2 but had crystal palace dining reservation for just after park open, and another when I was called very late and had a BBQ rodeo roundup reservation.
Just let the cast member at the tap in point know before you tap.
Why would you want to waste the time riding one ride six times?
Also Soda and coffee does not count as WATER! herbal teas MIGHT but i still would bring the biggest water bottle you've got. Also please don't bring new shoes with you, if you have to use those mullskins. I got blisters the first day at Epcot maybe it was the soxs maybe it was the shoes (i dono) but i didn't let it hurt my trip. I've gotten worse blisters at a local fair, and trust me it stunk Also mullskins work way better then bandaids.
My flight from home !eaves early in the am and my flight back leaves at nine pm..My trip is in October.
I lived n the UK for all of my life and never had the money to visit.
My sister and her husband took their kids there and aid it was not good. Their children said their beach holidays in Spain were much better.
The only good thing the kids remember is the free soda refills.
None of them have any wish to take their children there, even though my sister and her husband saved so hard.
Thank you for more great updates! And thanks for teaching us about that "code", lol! It's nice that you have shared info about the best times to visit the Epcot! The middle of the week sounds good to us. And yes, staying hydrated is very important. And we are happy that you mentioned this important tip. And again, thank you very much for all the latest and informative updates, my friend! Have a magical week! 💖💖
Can you make a video about the best moments you yourself have had at disney?
Leaving Friday to go to Disney world!
OK I'm going to be nit picky as Eff. Two things I always counted on the DFBGuide was 1) not seeing AJ and 2) seeing perfectly manicured nails on hands holding up food and treats. These are like trademarks. Think of my horror at 5:59 when this treat was shown! Oh, the horror and humanity! I think DFB could afford to pay for a manicure. (P.S. Don't take this too seriously)
Great tip on including kids in your decisions! Our daughter had more fun doing a craft in the Kidani Community Hall than she did in any park.
My kid chose eating pizza on the hotel bed on a rainy night. This was the first thing she would tell anyone about our trip. Pretty sure I could have saved $10k by doing this at the local Best Western.
@@MPcurtis6 it’s very easy to fall into the trap of projecting what you loved as a kid onto your kids, and it has nothing to do with being a horrible parent.
Another tip! Hydrate(Drink water) like crazy two weeks before your trip to Disney and keep hydrating(Drinking water) during your trip. Makes things more enjoyable.
Buy some spearmint gum and that should take care of the blue dye issue on your teeth. :D
Just got back from Disney World. I don't understand the Cinderella popcorn bucket so I'm on board with the Avoid Buying things Others want. I couldn't believe there was a line for that. That said, I wanted that Orange Bird Loungefly so bad and the only place I found them was on the backs of other guest. I was so sad. 🤣
We just got back from Disney World and the popcorn bucket was great!! We ate popcorn the entire trip and it was really good popcorn!
Bring tums or antacid. The tap water is terrible for heartburn. I had to drink milk the entire trip basically and went and got antacids from first aid. Thought I was gonna die tbh it hurt so bad.
Okay yeah… fly in early is the best but when it’s only $200 for my family of 6 to drive to and from Disney… I’ll just drive the long drive lol
Flight cost, transportation from and to the airport, transportation from Your house to and from your airport. All have to be factored against fuel, possibly overnight hotel both ways, eating on the road costs, and, especially how many in your party. My wife and I flew when Magical Express was offered from OKC cheaper than we could have driven. With family dropping us off and picking up. I couldn't afford flying with myself and four ducklings in 2021 even with Magical Express.
Hi! I really want to plan a Disney trip, but I'd be going solo. Do you have any tips and tricks for those people who do a while Disney trip alone?
I did solo end of Nov last yr. Doing it all again in September. It was an incredible experience 😁
I did a solo trip a few decades back. My best memory is talking to the cast members. When some saw I was alone, they took more time. It’s also great to be able to do what I wanted and to be able to stay and listen to a musical moment.
I have done solo trips before when my wife was out of town ( I'm just two hours away, so it wasn't too difficult) The thing about going solo is how quickly you can move about since you are never waiting for the other person to do whatever. You can really cover alot of ground quickly. You can also use the singles line on some of the rides like Test Track and and get through them faster too! Ironically, that can leave you more time to stop and just people watch. Also Disney has so much detail, stop and just take in some of the details that are in the parks since you are not distracted by others with you. You can also do well with meals since many places have bars that you can order the full menu of food at the bar even when the tables are fully reserved.
It's not easy to find a week when there is no festival in Epcot, but if you can, it's great!
We went the first week of November 2018.. holy cow was it busy.. jersey week they were also recording the Christmas special so not sure if that factored in because all parks were busy but probably didn't help
While waiting for the carousel, in one of the two holding pens, my daughter threw up. I made sure to tell the cast member who directed us into the pin “Code V.”
AJ I’m from the PST coast, I can’t do anything on travel days 😂
When I was recently at Disney my Tron boarding group got called before the park opened lol
When it comes to arrival times, flying from Seattle takes 12 hours so there's unfortunately no way to avoid allocating a full day for nothing but travel.
I'm lucky since I travel from D.C. it's only a 2 hour flight.
Going 18 days last week od Sept and 1st week of Oct. Satying in my trailer trailer at Ft Wilderness 👍🏕
🇧🇷Brasil/// 💗A Disney sempre passando emoção por gerações. Excelente💗
Which is why we're coming a day early and leaving on a separate, after park day
for helping beat the heat as someone who easily overheats: BRING A FAN!! or even but the one from disney they are awesome and will help prevent a little one or even an adult from a meltdown caused by the heat
11/10 recommend paying for individual lightning lanes for Tron. Choosing what time you ride does really make a difference.
0/10 - ride is 30sec long, so beware!
DO TRON AT NIGHT!!!
I’m going just after Labor Day. I’m hoping it won’t be too crazy.
We are going then too. Crowds are Less as children go back to school. Still very warm. We bring cups along for water. Enjoy your vacation!!!
@@junez2817 Thank you! You enjoy yours as well! I’m super excited!
Disney best magical trick is making all of your money dissappear out of your wallet.
I live in calif so even if i leave early AM I wont get there til later in the day, Any ideas?
Well done!
What about the first week in December? Is it crazy busy? I was hoping, Thanksgiving holiday being over meant school was back on and crowds might be a little better?
The week after Thanksgiving is legit my favorite time to go. Crowds are absolutely smaller, weather is perfect, and all the holiday decorations and offerings are up.
@@ttintagel Good because next year I'm going for Magic Kingdom's Christmas show.
We have been doing the first week of December for years. It is all decorated, but for some reason no one vacations that week. We learned that trick and learned that the cheapest cruises are that week too! Also, the weather in Disney is usually very good then. That is the best time to go all year!!!
We went the first week of December last year and we had an awesome time! There were a few lines here and there but we planned out some Genie+ moments and made smart choices on times for certain rides and we got to do pretty much everything we wanted at all four of the parks (we also had a later flight on the last day and that's when we went over to Disney Springs). It was beautiful to see all the Christmas decor but not have the huge crowds! Hope you have a great trip! =)
Question about the 1pm virtual queues…if we’ve made a reservation for, say, Epcot and want to go to MK after 2pm, can we join the virtual queue for Tron if we’re not physically IN MK at that time?
No, you’ll need to be in the park in order to join the 1PM drop
Is the end of July a good time to go ? we are going. The 25-28 to parks .
Yeah, other than it is likely to be around 95-100 degrees and feel like 110+. We were there in July and I think the high temperature was 103 and the real feel felt like 115.
End of January is when I go every year, little to no crowds.
What’s the weather like in January, Larry?
@@pamelarainey9309 We live here close to Disney. It is usually very nice in the winter, but we can just get a weird cold snap for a few days that brings temps down pretty chilly, but it is still a good bet and probably better than wherever you came from. I would WAY rather book a trip to disney in the winter than the summer. Summer is just too hot every day.
@@blaster-zy7xx thankyou for that information. We’re coming from Sydney in January and we would rather it be a bit chilly than too hot.
Love your videos, do you usually have music in the background? I think it’s distracting.
The background music is different from your other videos, threw me off a little bit
Besides tough to be a bug
19:45 “how they fit” “fluid” I hope that’s just unfortunate wording and not… a slight admission of something else.
Is the end of February a good time to go?
Yes, have fun. There are crowd prediction calendars on line you can look up, but the weather is usually very good. Can be a bit chilly, but is still a good bet.
I feel Disney should play that old computer game “Lemonade Stand” to know what supply and demand economics actually means for consumers.
How’s the week after thanksgiving?
It will still be crowded because nowadays there are always crowds at Disney. However, the crowds will be much more manageable because most kids are back in school.
Uh oh, is Aunt Susan…no longer with us? I was sure she would be mentioned in the “Buying something because everyone else wants it”section
Id add the tap water to this. Has made me badly ill 2 trips in a row.
In my opinion, number one thing to avoid at Disney World is… Disney World.
I'm going for Mickeys Halloween show for the first time in and I'm going to Oct. I can't wait. I'm going on a Thursday so I hope it won't be too crowded. Last year in Oct. on Mon. was too crowded. I sure wish Rise of the Resistance had a single line lane, it's been open long enough or I could get a disability pass, even with a bad back I couldn't get one. Parents have to be careful with kids because they want everything they see, you have to stand firm. My niece was 7 in 2003 and cried so hard when she couldn't get a squirt gun/fan. But they were expensive. I didn't know she'd want one for one thing and I didn't know Walmart had it for cheaper. I was lucky I found one at our hotel at Comfort Inn. It was a bit smaller but she didn't know the difference and I used the batteries from my Walkman. Don't ask a kid what they want to do if they are too young. They have never been so they know and they will say yes to everything. Cast members need to be more informed. I was in Fantasy Land and asked 2 cast members when the parade stated. Both said 3 and when I was there a little before 3 it was over and boy was I mad.
The only way I ride rise of resistance is buy individual lighting lanes , rope drop , or both . The past 2 years I get to ride it 2 time in a day like this . I know paying extra for lighting lane is painful but we only go once a year so it's worth it . I think it's like 15 dollars per person
I have twisted my ankle on Main ST! SUCKS!
glad I am not the only one between the tracks and the cement.
Avoid character meet and greets.
Avoid Disney to avoid costs 😂
Just avoid going there all together 🤷🏽♂️
If my kids don't want to go to Disney - then it's Divorcy time! Because then they are DEFINITELY not MY kids 🧐
I miss magic kingdom I’m so excited for pride month June 1
Kinda early omg🤍🫶🏼
Stained….teeth.
I thought you were going somewhere else with that.
Protein spill sounds like a different kind of bodily fluid.
I wished I known about the food dye before my last trip because I ate a gluten free cupcake with blue frosting and I brushed my teeth and I was scrubing really hard like 3-4 times and my teeth, tongue and lips was still blue. At least I was happy to find and eat a gluten free cupcake before it turned my mouth blue 😂
