After he finished he led me over to the bakery case and told me to pick out two cupcakes, one for me and one for my mom. Then he boxed them up and handed them to me, saying "This is a 'we're sorry you were sick during your vacation'!". Pretty notable given how expensive those cupcakes are!

Yes Amber it is a case-by-case basis. if you want a hundred different pictures then yes you're correct its not worth it to buy individual pictures but if you only want a couple good pictures then this is the way to go
I have a collection of pins, one is of Chip and Dale, it pins inside a shirt pocket so they appear to be riding in the pocket and peering over the edge, always an "ice breaker".
We always get the memory maker pass it’s worth every penny to me. I print a lot of those photos and even have our family holding Rapunzel’s lantern on a huge canvas in our dining room. For a photo crazy person like me who has albums and albums for my kids to look back on, it’s a must have.
@@jessicatrawick7379 just one I think, I went 2 years ago and bought it and me, my sister, and my mom were able to scan our magic bands to get the photos
And. I. Can. Be. In. Every. Picture! This is worth every single penny. People always asked me if I even went on trips before photo pass, now I get to be a part of the memories too!
I bought a Disney tote bag in 2000. I still have it. It still zips and has no splits at the seams. I probably paid $20 for it. Best souvenir I've ever bought.
One very amazing tip- if you’re already in Orlando make sure you stop by the Disney character Warehouse which is their liquidation store and has so many things that were sold at the park at a discounted price like the magic bands that you can use whenever you go. I got mine for $8
@@bunidoll you’re very welcome! If you go any time soon they have the Christmas stuff on sale- may occasionally find ornaments for $10 or less! Last year I got the Santa Mickey loungefly backpack for only $35! This store is a must for a discounted Disney souvenir!
A family friend of ours every year sends us Disney Christmas presents and every year is a new holiday ornament and I’ve receiving them since I was about 10 and they became one of my favorite gifts ever since
I’m a huge SW fan as well as Disney, however last year I was hesitant about Savis Sabers. I then caved & built one & loved the whole experience & my saber souvenir! So happy I ended up doing it & would do it again!
Did you have to fly with it or drive ? I want a Winnie the pooh plushie but im flying in from out of state and im worried about not being able to take him back home 😭

Hoping the afternoon tea is back in March when my daughter and I go. I always buy a dated ornament when we visit. Love remembering our trips as I put them on our Christmas tree each year.
Always love the Christmas ornaments. Yes, they're expensive but the detail and imagination behind them is exceptional. My family and I love putting them on the tree and reiminiscing about our Disney trips.
If you’re a geek the lightsabers and droids are never a wash. Our lightsabers will be mounted on our walls, and the droids are a blast to drive around. There are even groups dedicated to customizing your droids even more.
Curse you AJ and this pandemic! I’m now reminiscing about our possibly once in a lifetime trip last November and losing it over here! I’m fine, this is fine, deep breaths....
I bought a D&B purse for my 50th birthday and still LOVE and use it daily almost 7 years later. YES it was crazy expensive but $300 for 7 years of daily pleasure is cheap overall😍
I bought a jacket four years ago that I wore every day for two years before I had to replace it because it was worn out! So I went back and bought the exact same sweatshirt that I still wear every day😂
Surprisingly from our 2003 Disney Trip (my first ever visit) the best souvenir was a fridge magnet. It’s been on our fridge for 17 years now and it always reminds me of that Disney magic I felt when I was 8
I know those ponchos are way expensive, but last time I went the quality was much better than previous trips! I was able to not rip it (happened all the time before) and actually take it home! I plan to bring it on my next trip (fingers crossed for next September!)
Upgrading to the theme park view at Contemporary and water view rooms at yacht club are always worth it to me! Love to sit on the balcony with a water view at yacht club, it just feels so special and perfect for those more “relaxing” trips!
The best thing that my family and I bought was a VIP tour. It is very expensive but it was so worth it. You get personally escorted around Disney World and your tour guide will drive you from park to park. You get to skip all of the lines and can even ride the same ride twice in a row. It was probably one of the best experiences of my life. Highly highly recommend it.
That would be the only thing i would do if i won big.... i would still stay at Art of Animation and do everything else a normal person would but going everywhere and doing what I want when I want would be the ultimate thing
Can’t usually afford to splurge much but the BE our Guest restaurant is an excellent place to splurge at dinner time it was amazing and I was so glad that we did it.
"Mickey's not so Scary Halloween Party" is always a good choice. Smaller crowds, special parade & fireworks & castle show, special events-Tomorrowland dance party, special food, special popcorn bucket, characters in special costumes, you get to wear a costume. I think that's it. Hey DFB Fall 2019 I scored FPs for Haunted Mansion @ 5pm on MNSSHP day! That's pretty much the only way to ride it on a Halloween party night.
When they had the Captain Ero attraction I had gotten all of the charcters from that show and I still have them all. We had them shipped straight to our home from Disney World and they were waiting for us when we arrived at our home. Best money we ever spent on straight to home from Disney World
My boys got book bags at MK and they used them for school that year and still pack them up for over night trips to grandma's. Very durable and great quality. They were $19 with a $40 purchase so we got our ears to qualify. Such a great memory! Never regret it.
When she was taking about the barber shop i immediately broke out in laughter. A couple times ago when I was in Disney, my dad really needed a haircut and so my mom made him get a haircut in the barbershop 😂
I always buy 3 beach towels. One for each of us to use at the pool. They last for years, and we use them everyday at home. We have quite the collection now!
Savanna view room, build your own lightsabers, OBVIOUSLY ear headbands, Memory Maker.... but the one that I was so happy I did and definitely plan on doing again was surprising my husband with the Star Wars dessert party on our honeymoon! The dessert party was amazing, characters were walking around, no line to get pictures with other characters, and so much food! I definitely would suggest a light dinner (or no dinner at all) if you are planning on doing one of these but it was well worth the money! I'm hoping they bring them back soon because we can't wait to do it again.
I think the best value is the Memory Maker, esp. if you're solo. I also think the best deal at the parks is the lockers! Especially if you plan on being there right through to the fireworks. You're not packing things around, the warmer/dry clothes are there when you need them and you can really pack a lot into them. I think one of my best memories is the moment you know that it's too late in the day to ride any more water rides. You go to the locker and get your dry clothes...they're so warm and dry and you just feel so good when you get changed.
I absolutely do not regret my lightsaber from Savi's - it really was an incredible experience, and every time I look at it displayed at home I smile. Was there sticker shock? Yes, but I saved and planned for it - that was my "big souvenir" from Disney. And, as a huge Star Wars fan I would have been heartbroken if I hadn't been able to get a reservation for it. The other thing I don't regret, for different reasons, is the Disney Dining Plan. No, based on strict credit-counting, I probably didn't save money with it, but, it was just so nice to be able to sit down to a restaurant and not have to worry about if we were going over budget; it let us try restaurants like Homecomin' and Be Our Guest, that we would have steered away from otherwise due to feeling we couldn't afford them. Everything except tip was paid for in advance, so we could just sit down and enjoy our meals.
Still have my Disney sweatshirt from 2013 with Hollywood Studios Mickey Sorcerers hat on it and also a newer one from last year. But have my magic band from 2018 girls trip these are special to me
I bought a vera bradley tote bag when I went to Disney land for their 60th anniversary. I love that bag and used it as a " teacher" bag when I was teaching. Super sturdy and still in use. It has lots of hidden mickeys in the fabric.
We actually have a few Disney paintings in our house We got a Peter Pan one A beauty and the beast one And a lion king one (the lion king painting is in my bedroom, since it’s my favorite Disney movie)
I bought a kilimanjaro safari hat years ago and used it on several trips to other places and back to DW. Plus got a stuffed Flower skunk that has extra long tail. Flower doesn't get the same amount of stuff as Bambi and Thumper does.
We loved doing the pressed pennies. Compared to other souvenirs they are way less expensive even after we bought the book. It was fun looking out for a press and it kept my son entertained and from begging for more expensive things everywhere we went. Now he has a memory book with pennies that remind him of all the parts of each park we visited.
Room upgrades, seasonal merch and refillable anything are all worth it! Depending on what you geek out on then that's obliviously worth it. I'm a big star wars fan and loved making the lightsaber and droid. Like you said if you aren't a huge fan on that then maybe skip it. Everyone goes to Disney for a reason and everyone has a favorite Disney thing to splurge on.
I bought my ears in 2015 and I bring them out every Disney trip and always get compliments bc they don’t make the style anymore! it’s always exciting when I get to bring out my ears to pack them 🥺
I like theme park views especially in the holiday season because on a cool damp night you can hear them practicing their parades and shows in the Magic kingdom also you can see the steam from the train in the morning. I also did a in room event once for my wife for her birthday. Back stage tour is great too.
I bought a Buzz Lightyrar toy about 13 or so years ago and I still love it. I especially enjoy things like kitchen towels and my favorite Mickey apron because they are daily reminders that the magic doesn’t have to stop when I get home.
a few years ago when we were at Disney it started pouring but we had forgottenf our rain gear at the hotel we decided to stay and splurge for the ponchos. all of the rides had super short lines and tower of terror was so much fun to do in the rain. we ate dinner during the time it was thundering and got to ride so many rides that we probably would have missed out on if we hadn't stayed. We still have the ponchos and it was the tower of terror in the rain is still one of my fondest memories of Disney.
Hey AJ! My and my friends are at Disney for the week. Love watching your video to prep for our trips, but I also love watching your video but they just make me so happy.
Your opening question was a great one. I've done both. I took my family and we stayed in the Touret Suite at the Yacht Club for 10 nights and I use a $5 Mickey coffee mug almost every day. Both were well worth it
Yeah. This is a super great list. As both an annual passholder for years on both coasts, as well as a cast member off and on, over time, I totally and absolutely agree.
Haven't been to any of the Disney parks yet, but I'm cramping all these information in so when I do, I'll be ready! Could you do a follow up with an opposite of this video? One with 30 of the things you will regret buying at Disney/30 things you shouldn't spend your money on? Would be fantastic, stay safe and healthy DFB!
I bought a haunted mansion Mickey 12 years ago for my son. I’m glad I did because I never saw one again.Building a Mr. Potato head in Disney springs is really fun too. My kids still have the potato and all the Disney parts 12 years later. We are planning on reusing our customized magic bands on our next trip.
Bought a steel cup at the mint julep booth two years ago. On sale for $5 because it was left over from a night party. Use it every day to drink from. Still shiny and clean and the logos is still dark and clear. Best thing I ever bought.
i would put spirit jerseys in their own category; i legit wear mine year around and it's still one of the comfiest sweatshirts I own. It also has the limited editions styles, so if you see one you like, you do have to jump on it
I would add one of those Mickey hand water bottle holders. You can never stay hydrated enough at Disney and it gives you the option of carrying around a bottle easily that you can refill
I hope they do bring back the Hoop-De-Doo Review cast! That show holds a special place in both heart and memory for me (one of my adopted uncles was a part of the cast years ago!), and I'm hoping to go back to Disney soon to do a late-celebration of my 50th birthday. (Would be epic if I did it during the 50th Anniversary of the WDW Park right?) Also, One thing I've never regretted purchasing are PINS! As I'm a huge fan of Tinkerbell, I've made it a point to always buy (or have a relative that's going to the parks to buy for me) a unique pin featuring our favorite Fairy!
The photo pass was VERY WORTH IT for what we paid!!!! We got every single ride photo, AND RIDE VIDEOS, and also there's places to stop for photos all over the park. It was so nice to have all those photos!!!
I totally agree on that limited edition stuff! I was there in june and snagged the pride micjey ears and the ball cap and the next year the hat was not offered and i still wear it almost daily! It was so worth it.
The best thing I bought at WDW was a tour, the Marcelline to Magic Kingdom tour, for my husband as a Father’s Day gift. It was 3 hours of trivia and history and backstage secrets, all about how Walt Disney’s magic evolved. We were enthralled the entire time. It wasn’t a super expensive add-on, we got to see aspects of the park we had never known or had access to, and it was a wonderful memory. They’re probably not running those tours right now, but when they come back, I highly recommend them.
I got myself the Indiana Jones hat. Now, normally it might be cringy to see someone wear that, but I live in the country so it is really nice to wear in the fall and winter. It is warm and perfect for me!
I got a very classic pair of Minnie ears- black sequin base with red sequin bow. There were other ones that looked appealing, but I know these will never go out of style, and they’re not specific to a particular Disney park, like zebra ears, for example. I have saved them to wear the next time I’m at Disney. It’s one of the few purchases I suggest buying before or the first day so you have the most use out of them.
My personal favorite things to buy are Plushies or ears. Plushies bring me so much stress relief and I love them. Ears are cool to collect, and you can bring them with you on yir trip and as your collection grows, you have more to pair with outfits! And honestley, the mini backpacks they have are cute, it's just that in my opinion they're really expensive.
I have this Expedition Everest quarter zip sweatshirt thing and I love it so much. Got it at the Disney outlet and haven’t heard of it being a thing since. I wear it every day because it keeps me warm, but not sweltering
I enjoyed High Tea w/champagne😋and park hopping. My home resort is boardwalk so it’s easy to go to Epcot and Hollywood studios. Can’t wait to get back 🤞🏽for December.
Pins, I have a pin binder that my grandmother started for me in 2001 with the resorts we stayed in, and rides we went on. I have continued the tradition and always get one with the year we went, as well as if we had a favorite ride, and something special related to our trip. I also do pin trading because I find it really fun so this last trip bought some just to trade when I arrived.
Spirit Jersey’s!! I know some of them can be kind of cheesy and a bit pricy, but honestly I use them as light sweaters back home, and use them for the cooler mornings/evenings at the parks!
Okay, so last time I was in Disney I bought a droid. That night I couldn’t stop smiling. The droid still sits in my closet, but I do not regret buying it AT ALL. It was the coolest experience.
It brings you joy! Marie Condo can suck it! 😂❤️😂 Love your attitude! I was unhappy with my wand purchase at Universal, if and when we go back I’m totally buying a new one, no regrets! 😝
@@ProudPapaJD yeah, I honestly love my droid. I might not use it as much as I want, but everytime I think of it it being back great memories or being soaked from the rain and all of a sudden being in line to build my own droid at 10 o clock at night. It was one of the most magical experiences I’ve ever done, and for me it really made the trip. The funniest part of it all was having to carry it through the Orlando airport to get it back home. It wouldn’t fit in my bag, so I had to tie it up in my sweatshirt and just carry it. 😂 I will forever love and cherish my droid, and I hope someday when I have kids I can share it with them, or even be able to have them make their own in Disney World.
I still have a Coffee much from the first time I visited Disney World back in 1978. I was 4 at the time, but it is an original Micky Mouse Club coffee mug and it is worth quite a bit now if eBay is to be believed.

@@madhatter4743 I agree with you. We got it for our group and the amount of pictures we got the first day paid off the amount of Memory Maker.
Wow I thought they took this away!! How do you do this??
I never regret buying a corn dog, clam chowder in the bread bowl and beignets. I especially don’t regret buying pins
Do you have to buy one for each person in your group or just one?
@@jessicatrawick7379 just one I think, I went 2 years ago and bought it and me, my sister, and my mom were able to scan our magic bands to get the photos
after our last trip, I had almost 400 pictures taken by park photographers. Well worth the money and I can be in the pictures
And. I. Can. Be. In. Every. Picture! This is worth every single penny. People always asked me if I even went on trips before photo pass, now I get to be a part of the memories too!
Wow thats good, even I don't take these many in one day
I bought a Disney tote bag in 2000. I still have it. It still zips and has no splits at the seams. I probably paid $20 for it. Best souvenir I've ever bought.
I bought the giant stitch.
I need nothing more in my life.
Same and I totally AGREE! :)
@@chesyyyyy sammeee
I don’t need food.... I don’t need toilet paper.... the only thing that’ll get me through quarantine is my giant stitch plush lol
@@ryeguy2256 Yes it is true
I’ve had mine for 4+ years now!! Absolutely love him!!
One very amazing tip- if you’re already in Orlando make sure you stop by the Disney character Warehouse which is their liquidation store and has so many things that were sold at the park at a discounted price like the magic bands that you can use whenever you go. I got mine for $8
Omg this is a real
Place?!? Discounted Disney?! Awesome!! I WILL definitely stop by and stock up! Oh I’m so excited! Thank you for an awesome comment!
@@bunidoll you’re very welcome! If you go any time soon they have the Christmas stuff on sale- may occasionally find ornaments for $10 or less! Last year I got the Santa Mickey loungefly backpack for only $35! This store is a must for a discounted Disney souvenir!
It’s a great place to get previous special items too
Where is this store?
A family friend of ours every year sends us Disney Christmas presents and every year is a new holiday ornament and I’ve receiving them since I was about 10 and they became one of my favorite gifts ever since
I’m a huge SW fan as well as Disney, however last year I was hesitant about Savis Sabers. I then caved & built one & loved the whole experience & my saber souvenir! So happy I ended up doing it & would do it again!
The big popcorn cups have lasted for years. We always use them for big drinks on a hot day or bath toys for the kids
i definitely dont regret buying my giant winnie the pooh plush, its so soft snd i sleep with it every night
Awww I agree! I got the Eeyore pillow pet and absolutely ADORE it!! 🥰
Yes i agree, i have a dumbo plush that i got that i sleep with.
Did you have to fly with it or drive ? I want a Winnie the pooh plushie but im flying in from out of state and im worried about not being able to take him back home 😭
@@Emily-Christine i flew! i carried him on, and was fine! i got the large big feet plush (so his head and feet are huge) and put him in my carry on roller, but i could have also put him in my bag i checked. i think you'll be okay if you do either!!
That lightsaber experience is amazing!
The two things that i use everyday are my Disney kitchenware (bowls, mugs, etc) and my loungefly backpack since i use it as a purse.
I tell anyone who will listen (and some that won't.. ;) ) that the First Haircut package is the best $25 you will spend at WDW.
^^^^ this.
No question. We did firsts and many after. It’s just fun!
Curse you AJ and this pandemic! I’m now reminiscing about our possibly once in a lifetime trip last November and losing it over here! I’m fine, this is fine, deep breaths....
My sisters initials are AJ lolll
I was there last week and splurged for dinner at Morimoto Asia! I got the A5 Wagyu (3 oz. minimum) and it was soooo good!
Amazing restaurant and atmosphere and service ❤️❤️
I bought a D&B purse for my 50th birthday and still LOVE and use it daily almost 7 years later. YES it was crazy expensive but $300 for 7 years of daily pleasure is cheap overall😍
I bought a jacket four years ago that I wore every day for two years before I had to replace it because it was worn out! So I went back and bought the exact same sweatshirt that I still wear every day😂
Surprisingly from our 2003 Disney Trip (my first ever visit) the best souvenir was a fridge magnet. It’s been on our fridge for 17 years now and it always reminds me of that Disney magic I felt when I was 8
We did an after hours event and it was so so worth it!
My husband and I did slso, so worth it.
I know those ponchos are way expensive, but last time I went the quality was much better than previous trips! I was able to not rip it (happened all the time before) and actually take it home! I plan to bring it on my next trip (fingers crossed for next September!)
Upgrading your room at the Yacht club to the boardwalk/lake view is awesome. At night time the boardwalk is lit up and its a great view form your room
Highly highly recommend it.
how many people and what price?
That would be the only thing i would do if i won big.... i would still stay at Art of Animation and do everything else a normal person would but going everywhere and doing what I want when I want would be the ultimate thing
@@couchcrew8658 website says $850/hr, so for a whole day experience say 9am to 9pm would be $10,200 for the day for a person.
@@lijohnyoutube101 jesus
I got Mickey mugs with our names on them for everyone in my family when I was there in 1985 and I still use mine every day!
Can’t usually afford to splurge much but the BE our Guest restaurant is an excellent place to splurge at dinner time it was amazing and I was so glad that we did it.
One of the best things I bought was a Cinderella Castle ornament; I look forward to seeing it on the tree every Christmas.
My granddaughter still talks about her two trips to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique almost 15 years ago. Worth every penny
AJ, I love you and your voice!! You ALWAYS make me smile every day when I listen to you.
Same here! 😁
I got my sisters personalized mugs in Magic Kingdom in 1996 and they still use them!
Lol how was the haircut
@@janeorlando2893 I year later and we still don’t know
I always buy 3 beach towels. One for each of us to use at the pool. They last for years, and we use them everyday at home. We have quite the collection now!
Still wearing some things I bought there 15 years ago.
The last time I was there, I collected smashed pennies. Cheap way to get something of an area or ride I really liked.
But have my magic band from 2018 girls trip these are special to me
We had a great memory on the trip we splurged for the Star Wars Dessert party. It was a special night for a star wars fan.
Both my boys had their first hair cut at the Harmony Barbershop and it was an amazing experience. Recommend it to everyone I know.
I bought a vera bradley tote bag when I went to Disney land for their 60th anniversary. I love that bag and used it as a " teacher" bag when I was teaching. Super sturdy and still in use. It has lots of hidden mickeys in the fabric.
We actually have a few Disney paintings in our house
We got a Peter Pan one
A beauty and the beast one
And a lion king one (the lion king painting is in my bedroom, since it’s my favorite Disney movie)
Omg, I have Lion King in my bedroom, too.
I bought my ears in 2015 and I bring them out every Disney trip and always get compliments bc they don’t make the style anymore! it’s always exciting when I get to bring out my ears to pack them 🥺
Which ears do you have?
I like theme park views especially in the holiday season because on a cool damp night you can hear them practicing their parades and shows in the Magic kingdom also you can see the steam from the train in the morning. I also did a in room event once for my wife for her birthday. Back stage tour is great too.
I use every mug, tumbler and drink cup I’ve ever gotten. Great buys.
My wife and I bought the last sculpture of Simba and Nala cuddling sculpture at Epcot and it sits on our dresser where we see it every day
Both were well worth it
My biggest no regret product buy is a spirit jersey, I buy one every time I go and spirit jerseys are almost exclusively my winter wardrobe 🤣
Yeah. This is a super great list. As both an annual passholder for years on both coasts, as well as a cast member off and on, over time, I totally and absolutely agree.
Today marks exactly 4 years since the last time I went to Disney so today is my Disney Day
Haven't been to any of the Disney parks yet, but I'm cramping all these information in so when I do, I'll be ready!
Could you do a follow up with an opposite of this video? One with 30 of the things you will regret buying at Disney/30 things you shouldn't spend your money on? Would be fantastic, stay safe and healthy DFB!
Preferred room, photopass, park hopper, and dessert party team here!! Got all of them on our first trip back in March and they were so worth it!
(Would be epic if I did it during the 50th Anniversary of the WDW Park right?)
Also, One thing I've never regretted purchasing are PINS!
Memory maker was the greatest thing my family ever did for our trip we had so much fun taking photos together or venturing off on our own
The best thing I bought at WDW was a tour, the Marcelline to Magic Kingdom tour, for my husband as a Father’s Day gift.
Special events for Halloween, Valentine's Day, Avengers, 90's etc are the best. There are more characters and rare ones too. I love it.
AJ, your voice is a song of hope and happiness. Thank you
I got a very classic pair of Minnie ears- black sequin base with red sequin bow.
Love your channel! Love getting the pretty balcony view at the Boardwalk and I especially love Disney in x-mas season!
It nice when you buy things with no regrets
@@katehart4314 haha i got mine in a downpour too! I have a similar airport memory. i love mine too it was a great experience
I still have a Coffee much from the first time I visited Disney World back in 1978. I was 4 at the time, but it is an original Micky Mouse Club coffee mug and it is worth quite a bit now if eBay is to be believed.
